Welcome, Jan. Just jump into the discussions. I find that if I worry too much about being meaningful, I miss out on the fun of joining in.

Hello! I'm Kathryn from Virginia and this is my first venture into a reading group. I'm constantly on the look out for new books and look forward to hearing what everyone is reading and enjoying. :)

Welcome, Kathryn, you will find your to-be-read books a mile high. So many books , sigh I fear I will not get through them.

Hello, I am Fran Touchette from New Hampshire originally now living in Arkansas. I love to read, write, and garden. I have two published books, Fake Pastor, and Widows Indeed. My all time favorite author is Maeve Binchy. I love a good story whether it's a mystery, sci-fi, YA, or really almost anything, other than violence for violence sake. I look forward to being a part of your group. I have purchased Catch 22.

Welcome Kathryn and Fran! Fran, I'm delighted that you are going to participate in the Catch 22 discussion. I am going to try to be there too.

Hi...my email says Wanda but my real name is Doreen....I live in Southern California and have had a book addiction all of my life. I look forward to sharing my favorites with you, and also learning of your discovered treasures....the picture is of my cat, Pearl, who warms my lap while I read.

Hi, Doreen, we have some things in common. I too live in So Cal and have a cat named Jackson. Looking forward to knowing you through our love of books.

That's Gus. He was a beautiful English Springer Spaniel... but a goofy boy when he wasn't lounging like that :)

Hey Y'all,My name is Mildred and I'm from Iowa. I love to hear what other people think about books I've read and I look forward to discussing books.

Welcome, Mildred. This has been a great place for me to talk about the books I'm reading and those that others have found. Nice also to have some picks and choices from young women as well as people my age. You're younger than my daughters, but close enough to help me keep a sense of the pulse of young women's taste in literature and general issues. Welcome.
Hi, I'm Kim, and I live in the Vancouver area of British Columbia, Canada. Since finishing my English degree a few years ago, I've missed talking about books with other people who actually like to read them (unlike most of my students). I've recently finished the Round House, so I'm looking forward to joining in on that discussion when it starts next month.

Welcome, Kim. You've certainly found a good place to talk about books with people who actually like to read them.

Hi. I'm Alison from just north of Santa Barbara, California and just joined. I have just written & published my first novel and look forward to escaping the challenge of marketing by diving into great reads & discussing them with you all. I am currently working on a sequel but I hope to intersperse my research with tales that take me away. Just finished reading Where'd You Go, Bernadette? by Maria Semple because it was recommended by an author in NY Times Book Review. Anyone read this? Fresh insight exploring the insides of Microsoft employment and I actually have received a post card from Antarctica - who knew?

Why don't you start a thread about this book in the Constant Reader folder.
Hi, my name is Laurie. This looks like a fun group and I am looking forward to discussing books. Some of my favorite authors are F. Scott Fitzgerald, Edith Wharton, and Thomas Hardy.

Laurie,We will begin discussing Thomas Hardy's The Mayor of Casterbridge on March 1. You mentioned that Hardy was a favorite of yours. Please consider joining us.

Ann,
I have already started and I am looking forward to discussing it.
Hi, I'm Jacqueline. I am a Canadian, but currently live in the US. I love books of all types. I'm an avid reader and participant in literary lectures. I love travelling, cooking, spending time in Northern Ontario, theatre, yoga and walking my dog. Hoping to encounter some new and intriguing books in this group...

I'm not new, but I've been away so long I feel like I must re-introduce myself! I'm Molly from Iowa... I hope I've not been completely forgotten. :-)

Good golly, Miss Molly - it's good to see you back! :) Are you really in Waterloo these days? I guess that makes sense, since I recall when you were studying photography at HCC. You know, I only live an hour northeast of there.

Welcom back, Molly and wlelcome aboard constant Reader on Goodreads to all the new folks. Best online book group ever these Constant Readers.

Welcome, Laura! I lurked for a while before I joined long ago. It's a good way to decide if you want to stay.

Hello :D I'm Karli. This is the first time I've ventured into a group.. but this one sure does look interesting! I hope to discuss a lot of good books.
Hi everyone, I’m Marie (aka Creolecat). I’m in Orange County, in southern California. I’m an avid reader of just about anything – but particularly classics, crime fiction, theology, plays, anthologies, and lots of books on cinema. I'm a film fanatic - particularly silents, thirties – pre-code, noir, to about the mid-seventies, and have an almost obsessive interest with anything that has do to with the Depression-era (people, history, architecture, literature, et cetera). While I love the beauty of art deco, I also love tacky roadside attractions.
