Hi everyone, I'm Jane and I live in Rhode Island, USA. I just finished reading A Tale for the Time Being, and am currently reading Miss Garnet's Angel. Besides reading, I like to travel. I also read a lot of books that are translated to English. Looking forward to reading your next book selection and chatting with everyone.

Welcome from me too, Jane. Travel is one of my favorite activities too. It's wonderful when you can combine it with reading.
Hi, I've been kind of a lurker, but I thought I'd jump in. I'm Lorna and I read 5 books at once when my husband and baby are asleep. My TBR pile has become a TBR bookcase.

Welcome from me too, Lorna. I think a lot of us here are late night readers but babies make it way harder to squeeze in that time. We're glad you're here.

Welcome, Lorna. I couldn't keep all of them straight if I read five at a time. My limit is three. One on audio and a classic and a literary fiction. But five would strain my abilities.

Welcome! I hope you have a second and third post here.

Hi all, I've been a member for a couple of weeks just checking out threads and getting an idea of how things work. I think I'll be reading some of the jan-june 2016 selections and looking forward to getting to know everyone.
My name is Ace and have a few friends here in this group already, so a special hello to them!!!

Hey there. :)
Check out December's book.
That the Anne Tyler you are talking about? I may read it myself...she's been one of my favorites for ages even though I'm way more into short stories and poetry these days.

Welcome, Ace! We're glad you're here. The books for the next schedule do look great. Actually, I can't think of a bad schedule that we've had!
Hi, I'm Elaine from TN. I work full time & try to read an equal number of hours. Usually I've got one book in the bathroom, one next to the bed, something on the computer and something else on my Android. I look forward to re-reading Frankenstein starting Feb. 1. The other book holding my attention at the moment is Lisey's Story by Stephen King.I read Frankenstein in high school, and 1-2 times since then. My main objection to the writing was Shelley's overuse of the word "wretch." But then, she was only a teenager when she wrote it. I'm sorry she didn't keep going as an author.

Welcome, Elaine! We will start discussing Frankenstein on February 1st and will keep talking as long as anyone has anything to say. The way goodreads has our headings set up, it can look like that is the date to start reading but we mean it to be the start of the discussion. And, we're glad you're here!
Barbara wrote: "Welcome, Elaine! We will start discussing Frankenstein on February 1st and will keep talking as long as anyone has anything to say. I wish there was a way to make that clearer. I can't imagine that any group that does a group read makes all the people start reading a book on the same day. I've tried to set up the lists putting all the dates back two weeks, but it was too confusing.
Welcome, Lisa Ann! Please do join in on the Frankenstein discussion. Also, you can start a discussion on any book you'd like to talk about in the Constant Reader section.
he there!! I been a member of the group for a long time, but I haven't checked in for a while. I'm always reading all sorts of things and participate in some reading clubs as well as run a small literary page on facebook. so yay!
Hell everyone! My name is Thara and I am so excited to join this group. I just posted my first comment after reading my first read, An Unnecessary Woman:" I like to read a nice mix of books including classics, contemporary works, mysteries and most importantly, books that give a glimpse of the world from different cultures. I look forward to some great reads and lively discussions.
