Hi my name is Debi. I prefer to be called Red (that is my nickname), due to the fact there are SO MANY Debis in the world. Makes me feel unique. I am so excited to join what I believe to be a wonderful group of people who like me LOVE to read. I was a constant reader before I had my children. While I had them, my reading was mostly fairy tales and other children's books to inspire the love of reading in them. At least one of my children grew up with the love of books and reading them, like me. I was sad though that my copy of Shadows in the Wind came to late for me to finish it to take part in the discussion. But I will be ready for the next one. I will say that Shadows in the Wind is a book that invites you in from the beginning. So I look forward to exchanging thoughts about different books with each and everyone of you. Once again thank you Sherry so much for allowing me to join and helping me reopen that door.

Hello everyone!I'm Rebecca, a 22-year-old fellow constant reader from the UK.
I'm a History graduate - some of my favourite books are historical fiction (I love the Wolf Hall series and Michel Faber's 'The Crimson Petal and the White'). I try to read a range of well-received literature - some 'classics', some modern fiction, some non-fiction.
I'm hoping for a legal career. And I'm very excited to participate in this group with you all! I'm already excited by some of the discussions I've browsed through.

I recently returned to school to complete my bachelor degree in English Literature, and if all works attend graduate school for my master degree in library science. I am currently reading The Old Man and the Sea for leisure, though i'm finding it hard to keep up with the demands of school. I am new to goodreads.com, signing up based on the recommendation of a close friend. I am looking forward to making friends with like-minded people who love to read and discuss literature.

Gunjan, I think this deserves its own thread. It might get lost here in the Welcome folder. It's a very broad question, and one I think will be hard to answer. So why don't you open a thread in the Constant Reader folder.

Hi, I live in Chicago and have been a GoodReads member since 2007. I've become more active recently and am doing the 2015 Reading Challenge (https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...) and the Book Riot Read Harder Challenge (https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...) and have really enjoyed getting out of my comfort zone (19th century novels; mysteries; Georgette Heyer; P. G. Wodehouse; Jim Butcher) and into literature from other countries (Midnight's Children) history (Empire of Cotton: A Global History) and literature in translation (Don Quixote, Candide, Anna Karenina). Thanks for adding me--I look forward to the discussions!

Hello, My name is Judi and I am an elementary school Librarian & Media Specialist. I enjoy children's books and adult books. I am currently reading A Light Between Oceans. It is a book that makes me ponder and apply it's central theme to my own life. I love it when a book makes me think and ponder beyond the scope of the book. Not that I am dealing with hiding any lies , currently in my life like the 2 main characters in this book. But I love that the author really treats the erosion of the soul due to living a lie. Plus I love lighthouses - so the setting is great. It's just that it is interesting to read a story of a person who is really struggling to lead an honest moral life, a life for others. He is so devoted to his family. Great book.

I am Agnel from Bangalore, India. I am a Civil engineer by education and a programmer by profession.
I used to read quite a bit when much younger and am trying to revive the habit. I am particularly interested in science fiction and humor but open to everything there is.
Apart from reading, I prefer to spend my free time watching horror films and playing video games.
