Gisela, it isn't fluffy at all, nor a "wallpaper western." Pretty gritty. But, it has some good humor in it.

Elishia | 2620 comments I'm going to ignore all the above conversation.

I have migraine so I can't read the buddy read book, so thought i'd listen to another in death (they the only audibooks I have) but the next book is linked to Remember me by Nora Roberts and I don't have this on audio :-(. Has anybody read this or read a Nora Roberts book? is it a different style to her on death books?

message 55: by Lina (last edited Jan 07, 2013 01:11PM) (new)

Lina | 5563 comments I seem to remember having read it ages ago, and it was more like a Nora Roberts than a J.D. Robb read.

ROFLMAO absolutely love the crying......That my friend is a nasty little creature called an O'Possum. They roam and ramble at night, digging in the garbage, they hang from trees by their tales that are hairless and look like pink pieces of hardened worn out rubber. They have squinty itty bitty evil looking eyes and they have nasty pointed sharp teeth and if you mess with them or their babies they will bite you and hiss at you and most likely give you RABIES. Down deep in the South where I come from you get 500 pts for running over them as FORD (found on road dead)/roadkill. I HATE THEM LOLOLOLOL

Carrie (icanhasbooks) Elishia that is one creepy picture.

Robin (Saturndoo) (robinsaturndoo) I forgot to mention that possums often play like they are dead when they are really still living. They do this when they are confronted with a situation they don't want to deal with. That's where the phrase "Playn' Possum" comes from.

message 72: by Elishia (new)

Elishia | 2620 comments Haha I know its scaring me a bit, I didn't realise it moved till I posted it. Shosho I was trying to find someone crying lol.

Jenny that other rodent thing you posted on pinterest before still haunts me. I'm not looking forward to sleeping tonight, I know all these rodents will be in my dream, I already freak out about mice every night :-(.

Robin i'll just pretend I didn't see your comment I def don't want to be thinking about that.

I keep picking them up and putting them down, disinterested and so I try another, but i get the same results !!! And it's starting to freak me out cos I have signed up for so many challenges that require weekly reading. My two cents worth:

• I didn't even know they could take a half-way cute pic like ShoSho posted. The miracle of photography.

• Everything ♥Robin♥ said about them is true.

• Not so cute in this picture.

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 1416 comments I don't mind possums, we see them round here all the time. But no, they're not very cute, are they. To me they just look like giant rats...

message 92: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments That's what they are, really. Only, much meaner. The only good thing I can say about them is that they are pretty protective of their young. Make that very, since they will attack you, if you mess with them.

message 93: by Kit★ (new)

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 1416 comments Ew. We had one on the porch once, the dog went after it and it just played dead. Even when the guy got a shovel to push it off the porch it still wouldn't move. Finally we just left it alone and it got up and left after a half hour or so.
I really don't mind rats either. Not that I want them swarming my house or anything, but when I see em out in the barn, they don't bother me. Even the big ones. I guess if they came at me, I'd be scared, but just to see them, no. Back in school, my best friend had a pet rat, one of those albino ones. His name was Fred and he was actually kinda cute, he'd climb on us, sit on your shoulder. Didn't mind that one...

message 94: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (icanhasbooks) The look I get from that picture is, "I want to eat your face, and I will if you move"

message 95: by Susan (susayq ~), Moderator (new)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments Ewww, rats are no friend of mine. We had one in our laundry room a few winters ago. I saw it running on the cabinet. I made my son-in-law go out and try to kill/trap and kill it. He got rid of it. But since then, I won't wash clothes at night anymore for fear of them being in there with me.

message 96: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments I had a rat invade my house about two years ago. It took forever to get rid of it! Nasty, fat, shit-dropping little bugger who would gnaw on drapes and carpet - and one of my slippers once (tore it to bits) - and was NOT a bit afraid of me. It was a smart little son-of-a-bitch, too. Finally got it with The Rat Zapper.

When I did the remodel, we discovered a hole in the foundation that they suspect is where it got in.

message 97: by Kit★ (new)

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 1416 comments Lol! Nice. We had a wee little mouse come across the entryway one day, and I went to go get a cup to scoop it up in and put it outside, and when I came back, my guy had squooshed the poor thing with a baseball bat. I was so mad at him for killing it. But that's nothing, we get snakes in here all the time. Found a 3ft long shed skin in the basement last summer, and we get little rat snakes and garter snakes coming in under the front door all the time. Just scoop 'em up and toss em back out. They don't get destructive though, if something was chewing my stuff, I'd get mad, lol :)

LOL LK that isn't a not so cute pic of a possum.

Can you imagine being awakened in the middle of night and hearing something in your bedroom, reach over to turn the bedside lamp on only to find about 8 of them running around your bedroom...one sitting on the nightstand on the radio/alarm clock? A mom and her babies. This happened to a friend of mine and his wife. I would have went into a panic attack.

And you are right they are really mean. My ex trapped one in a have-a-heart trap so he could get it away from the house and back out to the woods. It keep managing to get itself in the trash can and tearing up the trash making a huge mess. After he got it in the trap, that thing bared it's teeth and hissed at us and then when we got to the woods it wouldn't get out of the trap LOL

ACCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKK.....I definitely don't do snakes at ALL. If one was to get IN my house, we would probably be moving right then and there. This last year is the first time I have seen any close to the house and I told the Mister to go around and check everything to make sure they can't get in. This year we are going to get some of that snake-away powder/dust and put it around the house and out in the garden. There are mixed reviews about whether it really works or not but it will give me peace of mind LOL. I always seem to be the one to find them out in the yard/garden and when I do my son and the mister better come running and kill it...and they do LOL.

@LK UMMMMMMM I would be upset about a rat chewing up my stuff. I don't like them either....they are nasty little germ/disease infested critters too. They will bite you too if they get the chance, especially the BIG ONES. Thank goodness one of my dogs is a "mouser" lol just like a cat. She cracks me up catching mice...she gets lots of praise, treats and special attention when she catches/kills them ☺
