I'm nearly done with the book... Most of it is just (view spoiler)[sex (hide spoiler)] now. I have to agree that it's not what I expected. I thought it'd be a sweet, simple romance..

I must say that I did like the book, but there were things about it that I didn't like: the F bombs, the "voyeuristic" reading (just a wee bit, or a lot too much for my taste), and I did think it dragged on a bit too much.

As for Andrew, who wouldn't love HIM? I was absolutely 110% in love with him after (view spoiler)[reading his letter. He is the kind of man that every woman wants. (Gis, I am married and, thankfully, happily, so you DO get Andrew!

The letter almost made me cry, but what really made me cry was when Andrew had his seizure. My husband has epilepsy, so I've been through this many, many times. However, there was only one time that I actually had to call 911 and it scared the #*##* out of me!!! I literally thought Scott was going to die! I'd never seen him seize like that before, so that scene brought back a horrible memory. Thus the tears.

I love how Andrew's mother accepted Cam right away. It is like any mother who realizes that someone makes her child happy. You have to love that person, and Marna did just that.

I can totally see the family dynamics coming into play just like they do in the book. Everyone would want Andrew to do whatever he could humanly to take care of the tumor; however, I also see how he felt about going to see his dad and is funeral. Family can be divisive over issues such as these. (hide spoiler)]

I felt the same Vic. The F words and the sex talk were just a bit out of the blue. I would have enjoyed the book more without that.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who felt the sex stuff was just a bit too much! that first scene just seemed to come out of the blue!

I think an intense build up scene with less....uhhhh, explicit detailed sex stuff is SO much better than just an explicit scene.

I've read kissing scenes with no sex that were intense and sweet and made me love the story more. I think these sex scenes took away from the story...at least for me.

I think so too. The sex scenes were not necessary here. I didn't find it romantic or sweet when they talked about it. They just met by the way. I would never discuss that with friends, let alone a stranger.
