Greta (goodreadsgreta) | 4545 comments Ask Novel. I wouldn't suggest Wordpress which is what Jalyn and I use. Some things about the set up were tricky. Novel uses Tumblr and I think they make it pretty easy.

Okay thanks Greta!

Sarah if you want something simple then Tumblr is good.

Jalyn (jalynnie) | 3827 comments I'm in a reading funk and I can't seem to get out of it! Arg. I'm seriously contemplating reading the Harry Potter series for the umpteenth time just to get myself out of this rut! :(

EDIT: The frowny gave is for the reading slump, not Harry. Lol :)

Got it. That's cool that you live so close to the water.

Sarah - I hope you feel better.

Find anything good at the library?

message 1165: by [deleted user] (new)

I checked out Daughter of Smoke & Bone (Daughter of Smoke & Bone, #1) by Laini Taylor

And even though I said I was a book buying ban I ended up getting A Discovery of Witches (All Souls Trilogy, #1) by Deborah Harkness in hardcover and Shadow of Night (All Souls Trilogy, #2) by Deborah Harkness in softcover for $3 each. I also got Green Zone Imperial Life in the Emerald City by Rajiv Chandrasekaran in softcover for $2.

So it was a pretty good library trip. Now my ban starts until I tackle my growing stacks....

My friend gave me the discovery of witches, I thought it was so good! Someone told me it was like Twilight, but I really didn't think that (I mean, besides the obvious).

I think it's also quite relaxing, because the movements are repetitive, and that allows you to let your thoughts wander

Something similar happened to me once, and it's definitely not the best way to wake up. And it's not easy to overcome the loss of a pet, take your time to grieve.

I had to put my cat down, saddest day of my life. I'm really sorry Katy. I'll be thinking of you! :(

message 1185: by [deleted user] (new)

It's weird how something sticks with you for some time after it happens. Last semester on December 12, 2012 at 4 PM my school was put on lock down because 4 gunmen were on campus. My class and I were stuck in our classroom for over 5 hours. It was a scary night. But to inform us that we were on lock down they announced it over the loud speaker. And today the alarm went off again and the first thing I thought of was the lock down and that there was someone on campus again. It just shows that something stays with you for sometime.

Aw, I'm sorry. I know how that feels, it's awful. :(
I had to put my dog down last year. (Well it's actually a year next week. :( ) And it was awful. I had him since i was 8 after my uncle didn't want him. So he was sort of my childhood best friend.

My library is AWFUL. :( They only get new books twice a year, And then they only get a few in, And they only ever get like 2 YA books.

Tati I can't find a book that makes me want to keep reading... I start one, read a chapter and then decide that's not what I want to read right now... So frustrating!

I hate when that happens. Do you any series you have not completed? If so pick up the book before the one you need to read.

Just found out that my dad got tickets from us to go see a play Saturday Night. It's called End of the Rainbow and the musical focuses on Judy Garland’s life in 1968 when she attempts to regain the fame and glory she once had.

I should just move to America for the books LOL. I see all these posts on Tumblr and Goodreads with Americans library haul, And the one by me literally has 6 little shelves of YA books that are falling apart. You also get all the good Giveaways on here. ;)

Is "for the books" An acceptable excuse to move? ;D

message 1198: by Angela (new)

Angela | 520 comments LOL its a good enough reason for me! I dont know what id do with out my beloved library. Only 6 shelves!!!!!??? In all the librarys around me there is an entire room dedicated to YA! I never buy books i just go to the library. Its like shopping but free xD

message 1199: by Abi (new)

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments Oh wow, That'd be fun. :)

The only room they have dedicated to a specific set of books is for the kids.
The rest are just shelves.

My little cousin actually says "You have more books than the library!"
Aha. :)

message 1200: by [deleted user] (new)

My library also has a room just for YA and then they have the newer ones in a section in the front. What I also love is the audiobooks on mini IPods look a likes. I love them in my car. I just checked out my first one and will start listing to it Monday.

My library also got NOOKS that you can check out.
