Well you can join our two month challenge that starts the first of December. - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

You can also ask anyone if they want to read a specific book on this thread - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Or see if there are any on this thread you can join. (There are rules about how early/late you can join so ask or check first. ^_^)

Lu | 202 comments Should I read the Shadow and Bone trilogy before I read Six of Crows? Because I started to read it without realizing they were from the same universe and I feel like there's no introduction to the world(?) like you kind of just land on it? Does it become understandable if you continue reading it or should I just stop and read it later?

On mobile app it is still fine, but on laptop it's gone. I really hope they fix this! It is certainly a pain to have to go to the phone to update when I'm doing my actual reading on the laptop.

You can still update on the laptop. It just won't show the percentage. Let me check something real quick.

message 6823: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments Yes. You can still do everything on the laptop it's just not showing your percentage.

If you don't know how here are two different ways to do it.

Go to the book main page of the book your are wanting to update.

Method 1:
Hover over the currently reading thing under the book cover. It will give you the option to update your page or percent there.. But it doesn't let you change from page to percent if it's in the wrong mode.

Method 2:

Go down to where you review usually shows or where you status updates show on the main page.

Under progress you will see update status. This is where you can update and also change from page to percent if you need to. ^_^

message 6824: by Krystal (new)

Krystal Ayers | 5691 comments Hmm. That first option does let me change the number but doesn't give any space to write the little blurb. The second option does open up a blurb space, but it makes you erase what you have already written.. So I'm not sure if it erases or saves. For example, I wrote the blurb for 22 percent. When I click on that update, it pulls up that 22% blurb and doesn't give me the option of writing a new one for a new percent..

Did you press update and refresh the page?

message 6826: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments Also the first option does let you write a blurb. I'll show you on my currently reading of The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

I'm afraid it will erase what I've already written, but I will try and test it out.

It's being weird. Let me try first since I don't really care if it erases it.

It it, thank goodness! The group would have to change a few rules if neither one worked! Sometimes I hate writing reviews at the end of a book. I love being able to do the status updates.

Woohoo!

I have a love-hate with status updates. They are really useful but it also can take me out of a book as I don't always have my ipod handy and even if I do I don't always want to stop to make a note. :)

As for recommending there is no specific thread for that but you can make a new post in the 'Book Talk' section. ^_^ - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...

Also is the dog in your profile pic part Cavalier King Charles Spaniel? The face looks a bit like it. ^_^

They do that right?! lol. Ruby my dog is one and she actually has a great grasp on most commands but she simply chooses when to listen to them. Like she is great at sit but she doesn't like to sit on anything cold or wet unless there is a treat. Then she is much more motivated. lol

sometimes he tries to eat a mosquito BEHIND the glass and we are like oh parker you are so dumb but then other times he does something so clever we talk about it for dayssss like bringing his bed to the basement during a thunderstorm or he is just making bad life decisions 😂 (like when he ate my birthday cake or a whole loaf of bread or a whole entire loaf of chocolate chip banana bread, which, by the way he didnt get sick from, amazingly enough)

sorry for the rant haha
