Hi I am now to this group!! Getting some books out of a library today so will need some reading buddies later on. They will most likely be romance 😂
Hi everyoneI’m hoping you can help me solve a mystery. My friend has a beautiful daughter called Kylie, and the other day we were talking about how she chose the name. She said she took it from a book she was reading about a teenager who got pregnant. She couldn’t remember much about it but she is from the states so it would need to have been published there. Her little girl is now 15 so I’m guessing it would have needed to be out by around 2002. She said she thinks it was set in the Deep South and the girls parents reacted badly to her getting pregnant. Not much to go on and my googling is getting no results, can anyone help or advise?! Thank youuuuu
Maybe try looking through some of the listopia lists about teenage pregnancy?

Yes I have bought books simply because of titles, or first lines.

Hi everyone! I'm a long time goodreads user but I've never been in a group before! This looks like SO MUCH FUN I can't believe I missed out on doing this before now. I have exactly one friend in real life who is as into reading as me and I need more people to nerd out with desperately! I've been looking around the group page but there's so much I'm a little over whelmed, does anyone have any advice on where to start? I love the idea of the challenges and buddy reading. -Thanks in advance!

Start where it feels easiest.
If you really want to buddy read a spesific book go to the buddy read wanted threads and see if anyone else wants to read it with you. If you are curios about the reading challanges go there.
You simply have to start somewhere.

^^ is a group I made in late 2017, the idea is to read authors we want to read together, it can be Dickens or Meg Cabot. just any author you want to read but you never seem to get to. Also if you read some if the author but want to reread them with the group feel free to join as well. We have challanges and fun games as well.
Its not very active so am trying to get more people to join so it becomes more active.

Determination is good. Have you tried all the different formats of reading? Cause I have found that sometimes works. :)

I think my problem was that I stopped reading for fun and made it a chore, so I've decided if I'm bored, I'm not going to force it anymore!

Random share, I just started reading audio books (as once a month at least I usually drive for vacation about 6 hours away, and then 6 hours back) I figured why listen to the same songs on each trip, and try something new. Anyone else listening to audio books?

My name is Opal and I have 2 older brothers, 2 younger brothers, and 1 youngest sister. It’s actually kinda sad 😂
My random share; Do you ever just think that you neglect your bookshelves? Bc same. I'm so wrapped up in ebooks and netgalley arcs I'm forgetting about my physical books
Helllo!! I need help :DI am doing a translation of idioms :D super fun BTW.

Hi Everyone :) I'm a bit new around here, and was hoping I'd be able to talk to you guys/ask some questions about your experiences with Buddy Reading in general -- the parts you love, the parts you like a bit less, and everything in between!
Let me know if you'd be up to answering a few questions (or if there's a better/more appropriate spot to ask something like this lol).
Cheers,
Curtis
Hi! Welcome to the group!I have a love hate relationship with buddy reads. I mostly really love the points and hate the talking but sometimes I just can't wait to talk to someone about a book too. It really depends on the book and the person I'm reading with.
I can answer a few questions for you if you want. As long as I have the answer! lol.

Absolutely lost. I’ve never been in one of these community thingies so what things can you do on this and where?
Esther wrote: "Absolutely lost. I’ve never been in one of these community thingies so what things can you do on this and where?"This is a book reading community so you can chat about books and book related things.
We also have monthly challenges you can participate in.

Thanks but I already knew that. Like idk how to find stuff and other stuff like all the book recommendation pages & how to do buddy reading etc. But it’s okay I’ll figure it out. Thanks for the help anyway 😃
What stuff do you want to find? Like a specific book thread?
Where to find a buddy read partner?
Where the challenge link for the current month/upcoming month is?

I’m going to read some of the important info first and then I’ll ask questions cause I didn’t realize they were there. 😅

Thank you so much! I'm working hard on it so it means a lot.
I was looking in other ya/na groups and sadly most have been abandoned, no recent activities by the mods. So to find this group still active is great. With that being said, I would like to say thank you to the mods for keeping this group going.
I'm so incredibly bored at work, I'm close to falling asleep. Somebody talk to me, please! :DI definitely need an iced coffee before driving back home...
I want to feel the Halloween vibes and thought about reading The Institute by Stephen King. It would be my very first King book but I feel like this one is a gentle start into the horror world. I hope. I'm scared. Send help.
I'm going through the Steven king horror books. Only on my 3rd one but not getting scared yet. I would like to be scared of the book I'm reading. Sounds fun.
