Kelsey Benson (perksofbeingapaperback) Hey everyone! I need some advice!
I set my goal as 50 books to read this year & I'm not even half way. Any tips on how to read a book and a half a week to make this goal?

Maybe you could try 'text-to-speech' or an audiobook? Then you can 'read' whilst you're doing other things ☺

If you are a Goodreads' librarian, you can add books. What book do you want added? :)

I was going to ask for this one. Korean From Zero! 3 Continue Mastering the Korean Language with Integrated Workbook and Online Course (Volume 3) by George Trombley But I found it. It's just not linked to the other books in the series I guess. :/

Thank you though! :D

Tati So, Disney announced a live action movie of The Lion King. And I'm thinking , this is going to be a pretty expensive movie, since everything will have to be CGI'd

But wait then it wouldn't be live action would it?

message 6559: by Tati (new)

Tati I have no idea, but that's a good question. In order for it to be live action, there would have to be either real animals (dangerous, as we're talking lions here) and/or actors (also doesn't work, as The Lion King has no human characters at all)

Cool. I only voted in Fantasy and Historical but I only had one for Historical so it was easy. :)

The ending was unexpected, in a good way, and it just made me want to read the 2nd book more.

message 6579: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (dannieannie94) | 289 comments I have a random share, its kind of ugly but.

An author on goodreads sent me a book, and I didn't get the chance to read it in a timely fashion.

So he messaged me and called me a 'cunt bitch', I kid you not. He harassed me, insulted me, and continuously told me I need to be on medication, and than told me I am ON tons of medication.

Who seriously says that to a reader?

message 6580: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (dannieannie94) | 289 comments I reported his messages, unfortunately there isn't a way to block him I don't believe.

I understand authors getting upset if you don't read their book faster, or write bad reviews, but be professional.

Ironically enough I was going to be reading the book very soon, now it's going in the trash.

Bookcrazy ~ So what? I'm still a rock star~ | 17 comments My God Danielle, that's awful. I hope you're okay. Please mention it in your review of his book to warn other people!!! That's totally disgusting behavior.

message 6582: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (dannieannie94) | 289 comments I'll be putting it in my review in a few days. If I do it now, he'll probably be looking for it and start commenting.

That's what he did when I posted a general status update on here about him and his messages, he started commenting right away and I deleted his comment but he basically said "I gave Danielle enough time to read it, I sent her a free book, and I messaged her because she hadn't read it yet" as if he was in the right.

If you go to his author page, and go all the way to the bottom, there should be a link to 'block this member' in really pale grey at the bottom of the page. that will stop him from sending you messages, and hide any comments that he makes on your reviews as well. can't believe he behaved like that! its awful!

message 6585: by Danielle (last edited Jan 11, 2017 10:13AM) (new)

Danielle (dannieannie94) | 289 comments Thanks Sarah! I did post a review of his book, and he was able to 'like' my review after I blocked him but I don't believe he can comment. I just feel like he's gloating, thinking any attention is good attention. I just hope none of us as readers run into another author like him!
