I'm good, how are you? ☺

message 5653: by Taภya (new)

Taภya I'm great thanks just watched Britain's Got Talent as I missed it yesterday lol

I'm trying to finish a couple of books that I'm reading. One of them seems to be taking a while ☺

message 5655: by Taภya (new)

Taภya What books are you trying to finish, I'm not keen on the one I'm reading it's called Duff but the one I read before which is called Asylum was great :)

message 5656: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90920 comments Mod
I wasn't keen on The Duff either. I'm just finished with Fantasy of Flight (The Tainted Accords #2) by Kelly St. Clare , but I'm struggling with Sky Ghosts All for One (Sky Ghosts, #1) by Alexandra Engellmann

message 5657: by Tati (new)

Tati Samia, I was like that in January, when temperatures reached 38°C, now it's a bit cooler for us (around 15-17°C, which I think would be warm for Sarah LOL)

message 5658: by Jora Jordan (new)

Jora Jordan | 260 comments Ok. The weather where im at is weard. We seem to have all 4 seasons in a week right now. Is working on turning into summer but were not there yet and still get a freez sometimes.

Yep, 17 degrees is bikini weather over here ☺

message 5660: by Tati (new)

Tati Yep, thought so! My German cousins want to go to the beach with those temperatures, in shorts and swimsuits, while everyone else is shivering and wearing long sleeves and sweaters LOL

onceuponatimeareview | 2335 comments Where I live you can get frostbite and sun tan in the same week

lol, so true!

Today's a bit cooler though, around 28, because we had a massive storm this morning.

@Once, where do you live? Is it south africa? I once read that they have four seasons a day?

message 5663: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments It's 98 degrees Fahrenheit here in South Carolina so I'm going to lay out and read all afternoon!!

message 5664: by Tati (new)

Tati Gosh, it's hot there!!

onceuponatimeareview | 2335 comments Samia wrote: "Tati wrote: "Yep, thought so! My German cousins want to go to the beach with those temperatures, in shorts and swimsuits, while everyone else is shivering and wearing long sleeves and sweaters LOL"..."

No I live in the US in a temperate climate so the weather changes really quickly. A couple weeks in April it was 80 degrees Fahrenheit then snowing the next day

onceuponatimeareview | 2335 comments Heather wrote: "It's 98 degrees Fahrenheit here in South Carolina so I'm going to lay out and read all afternoon!!"

Holy shoot thats hot it hasn't gotten that hot in PA yet but it sure feels like it here.

It's actually quite a nice day here at the moment. It's about 13 degrees centigrade, and we have the back door open to let the sunshine in!

message 5668: by Tati (new)

Tati Wut? An open door with 13°C?? Nope, nope, nope LOL

message 5669: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments It's been a horrible weather here! Storming, raining and what not. The sun's shining now though. I think it's about 10C this evening, but I'm not too sure

It rained here all last week. I suppose at least the garden was happy.

message 5672: by Tati (new)

Tati But but, it's cold!!

I find it funny how hot and cold are relative. While I was England, I was comfortable with 13°C, and opened the window and all. But now that I'm back to a tropical country, I can't even entertain the possibility of leaving a door open with 13°C

message 5673: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90920 comments Mod
If the sun is out 13°C is fine, when its raining or there's a strong wind it's not so nice! When you're used to the colder temperatures I suppose 13°C seems warm ☺

message 5674: by Tati (new)

Tati Exactly!

On the other hand, for instance, I'm pretty comfortable with 25-28°C, whereas my German cousins are melting at those temps

message 5675: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90920 comments Mod
yep, 28°C would be quite unusual here!

It also depends on humidity :) I can easily deal with 30C in, say, South Spain, whereas 30C here (Denmark) is almost disgusting due to the humidity.. Not that it's ever 30 degrees......lol!

message 5677: by Jora Jordan (new)

Jora Jordan | 260 comments Its raining here. We love it though because it helps relieve the affects of the drought. New kitten, im the baby sitter so its making it hard to get any reading done. Three other cats most of witch dont like the new kitten. Shes about 4 weeks old.

message 5678: by Tati (new)

Tati Irene, sometimes it's so hot and so humid that you get out of the shower already sweating...

message 5679: by Jora Jordan (new)

Jora Jordan | 260 comments 13°C is a little chilly but ok with long sleeves or a blanket. Ill open the window and leave it open. 27°C is about my limit. Any higher i start having issues. Summer almost here and it will get up to 39°C or higher. I hate it. Cant stand to be outside for very long then.

message 5680: by Tati (new)

Tati When temperatures go below 17°C, people here start bundling up like crazy. Long sleeves, sweaters, boots, scarves, hats, gloves. And no way they leave windows open (there is no central heating here).

the fact that you have no central heating shows how warm it must be there! my central heating is set to 17°C!

message 5683: by Tati (new)

Tati but when it does get cold, the inside of the house is sometimes colder than outside... I've heard more than one foreigner say they have never felt so cold as they had here

message 5684: by Jora Jordan (new)

Jora Jordan | 260 comments Most people here have central heating and cooling both. We range from -15°C to 40°C over the year. Cold is freezing and hot is just unbearable hot.

message 5685: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments It's super hot here so I stayed inside all afternoon to read lol

onceuponatimeareview | 2335 comments Where I live it got to -30 including windchill

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90920 comments Mod
That is cold! I think the coldest I've seen over here was -8.5 °C

message 5688: by Jora Jordan (new)

Jora Jordan | 260 comments Coldest I've ever been in was -16°C.

onceuponatimeareview | 2335 comments If anyone isn't busy would someone would be kind enough to let me send them 45 pages of a book I'm working on just to edit and see what I need to do. I'm trying to be very different but it seems like i'm using some classy lines and would really love if someone would read it.

yup, happens every winter. A cold wave hits, and boom, there's no warm place, except the kitchen!!!

we had two back to back storms, but today is sunny and it's 91 F / 33 C here!!

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments I just read a Danish debut novel. It's being sold as "erotic YA." Now, I get that means that sex is part of the novel, but this was just too much. First of all, isn't YA books supposed to have a main character who's 13-18 years old? The main character in this book was 22. Secondly, this book was Fifty SHades all over again. How is that a ya book?! Seriously? I don't even know what to say... I was supposed to have an interview with the author on my blog, but I think I'll just pass on that oppurtunity!

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments Why is it A eucalyptus and not AN? :)

message 5700: by Victoria (new)

Victoria Scott | 2367 comments It's about how it sounds, not how it's spelled :) So eucalyptus is said YOUcalyptus. It's the same with heir. An air, not a heir. I hope that makes sense...
