Should be (continuation of speech) "... 'but it's no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then."

actual wording is as follows:
“It's a bitter truth but we humans are the only creature in this universe who not only fed up with things but also by other human beings.”

I think there is no chance of that quote being deleted. There are always variants when something is translated. We have at least 4 versions at the moment. The Gutenberg edition has "I am affected, not because you have deceived me, but because I can no longer believe in you." Wikiquote doesn't seem to have any version of that quotation which is a bit of a puzzle. [Puts on investigating hat].

The research performed on the following site shows it to be a translation of a popular Spanish saying.

Done.

And this is two quotes in one, from two different authors. I think it should be merged with the first one. https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/9396...
Another one that contains two quotes from different authors non of them the attributed one: https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/8603...
(I know I can edit them I'm just not sure about the policy in this case)

It is worth noting that there is no evidence that Eleanor Roosevelt EVER used that phrase.
EDIT: the same is true of this one:
https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/1103...
but that is a QotD so cannot add the misattributed tag.
Almost exactly the same except the second 'maybe' not capitalized and the spelling of they're there. According to google books the first quote is exactly right.

I'm reasonably certain that what is intended is two tags: Free-will and Hell not a single combined tag.

There are too many people liking that quote for it to be deleted. Does it need editing?

Combined. I'm bothered by the "Very inaccurately remembered quote... " reference. If the person who added the quote is sure that it is wrong then it probably needs deleting.

I'm reading this book right now so I'll keep my eye out for the passage.

Not overlooked, but it is a Quote of the Day so only staff with special T-shirts are allowed to edit them.

RE: 892 All fixed up. Finally found the quote in the book.

James Nicoll, or James D. Nicoll, is the correct attribution. See here.
This version is incorrectly attributed to 'James D. Nichols': https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/5803...
And this version links to an author page for one 'James Nicoll' who is not, I believe, the same as the one who made the quote. Which is why the first one I linked to is attributed to 'James D. Nicoll' I believe, so it doesn't link to the other profile. https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/6941...
Finally, there is this shortened version of the quote too: https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/2265...
I've never before posted about issues with quotes here, so I'm not sure what needs doing with the above exactly (merging? deleting?) but can someone who does know sort the quotes out please? Thanks!

I've followed the directions to editing/deleting a quote, but it still shows. Actually, when I click on the edit button, it takes me to my news feed. How do I go about deleting all my quotes? I'm the one who added them, but since then the book has been edited and they've changed. Thanks :)
Lucia wrote: "How do I go about deleting all my quotes?..."
A super librarian needs to do the deleting. I imagine that will be fine with the ones that no one "liked" especially because you added them but you have 2 with people "liking" them. Those shouldn't be deleted but if the wording is wrong, they can be edited.

Can somebody correct or delete it?
https://www.goodreads.com/author/quot...

This is the correct quote: https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/7086...
And can someone look back to 898 please? It seems to have possibly gotten overlooked. Thanks.

The first is especially obvious: https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/5877...
It's a quote apparently parodying Dan Quayle, originally published by MAD Magazine.
The other quote in question is apparently an actual quote by Dan Quayle (the source is listed on his Wikiquote page): https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/5877...
I'm just surprised these two have remained for so long without someone noticing. (I'm also surprised that someone would mix up Dan Quayle and Al Gore...)
Anyway, I fixed the attributions.

And this one: https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/3208...
Into: https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/6320...

“The reality is that you will grieve forever. You will not ‘get over’ the loss of a loved one; you will learn to live with it. You will heal and you will rebuild yourself around the loss you have suffered. You will be whole again but you will never be the same. Nor should you be the same nor would you want to.”
― Elizabeth Kubler-Ross and John Kessler

“The reality is that you will grieve forever. You will not ‘get over’ the loss of a loved one; you will learn to live with it. You will heal ..."
I attempted to make this change on the quote here: https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/4421...
However, when I did, I ran into the problem of it creating a new author profile for "Elizabeth Kubler-Ross and David Kessler" found here: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...
Attempting to merge this profile with one of the existing authors only edited the quote to the attribution of a single author, which leads me to believe that quotes can only have one author. Perhaps another librarian can confirm?

Always been true.
Various duff versions combined into the correct author
https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...
The quote is now here
https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/4421...

Please help me erase "-Serene Ramos" from this quote as it looks strange for her name to be inside the quotation mark.
Thank you
Jessica
