Tanya (mrsreads) | 50 comments My mom loves the Beverly Lewis series, so I picked one up once at her urging, but it wasn't my thing either. I think it's the kind of book you either love or hate. No shame in leaving it for someone else to enjoy! :)

I guess this is true... I read one of her other series and I absolutely adored it but this one was way too slow for my liking and I really couldn't get into it. Oh well on to the next one

YAY Karen!!!! I don't do it often it just depends on what I have on hand, how good the books are and how much free time I have ☺

message 313: by JoLene (new)

JoLene (trvl2mtns) | 705 comments Wow, some of you guys are speed readers!!!!
I could never read 3 entire books in one day (unless perhaps they were graphic novels, but they don't count here!!)

At most, I can do a book every 2-3 days, although I have been known to read a chick-lit or YA in a day. I only signed up for a book a week because this year I wanted to tackle some longer books on my shelves.....too bad we don't get points for # of pages read.

I said sometimes Robin ! And yes it does depend on how good the books are . Give me some really nice romance books and I forget the entire world , studies etc and read non stop ! LOL.

message 315: by Jess (new)

Jess (jesscatt) | 200 comments Yay! Just finished my first book of the year, a little slower of a start to the year than I'd hoped, but yesterday & Jan 1st were pretty much no-man's land in terms of progress!

The Waste Lands (The Dark Tower #3) by Stephen King

message 321: by ✿Claire✿ (new)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 1222 comments I've been making the most of being on holiday (admittedly at the expense of some of my revision :S) and read 7 books this month already. That'll probably drop off after tomorrow when I go back to uni but I will hopefully still manage a few a week.

message 322: by Lisa Kay (last edited Jan 05, 2013 10:09AM) (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Finished my audiobook last night Jeannie Out of the Bottle by Barbara Eden . Wasn't as good as I was hoping for. Used to LOVE her show as a kid. She sure had some sadness in her life; conversely, there wasn't much depth to this book. Knew some of it, because I watched her bio on the Biography channel. Enjoyed hearing her read it, though.

Went ahead and finished The Perfect Wife by Mary Burton early this morning, though it wasn't holding my interest. Too bad, too, because I special ordered it. Love "mail-order-bride" books and needed it for another challenge, only to realize it does NOT have the word "bride" in the title. Duh! Must be tired. LOL!
