Cathie (catitude) | 999 comments How would this work LisaKay? Could we still read books and have them counted if they didn't meet the cover color requirement?

Definitely, all books read would count, Cathie!

I was thinking of something a little different than a Read-a-Thon within hours. More like a, how many _____ colored bookcovers can you read in a week?

message 753: by [deleted user] (new)

sure it would be fun to have challenges within the team challnge :D

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Well, what color do you want to nominate for our first One Week Color Scavenger Hunt, Karen?

Color Nominations
Blue

Blue

message 756: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Yeah, blue is my favorite color. ☺

message 757: by [deleted user] (new)

my fave color's red but I have a lot of blue books to read, which color will you be nominating Lisa?

message 758: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Well, I'm just going to second your nom, Karen. LOL! Though, I do love red, too. I have a red Pinterest board, as well as a blue.

Let's see what others want and, if necessary, I'll post a poll.

message 759: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments We are currently in the lead by about four books.

message 760: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments I have one to post, too. But I wanted to write the review first.

JoLene (trvl2mtns) | 705 comments Karen wrote: "Wilbur Smith is really good !"
Love Wilbur Smith ---
River God was excellent --- but I really, really like his Courtney saga books as well. Had the awesome experience of reading some of them will travelling around South Africa/Namibia (where some of them are set).

message 762: by Midu (new)

Midu Hadi | 2744 comments wow,JoLene! that must have been awesome!

message 763: by ✿Claire✿ (new)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 1222 comments I'd be happy with blue books :)
I just came across the post where someone commented on how we were a chatty group, thought you might like to know we have the most posts by a long way!! :)
Exams are over now so I'm going to try and finish the books I'm on over the next couple of days and start something really interesting :)

message 764: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Yes, we chat the most; B the least...but hey are often in the lead. But, we over take them on a regular basis.

message 765: by Vikki (new)

Vikki (silverstarz) | 1278 comments I think it's gonna be a tight challenge for who wins it...

message 766: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Yup. That's what we want. ☺

message 767: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (lovebeingvegan) I'm good with blue or red for the challenge. Sounds fun! When would it start?

message 768: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (lovebeingvegan) Oh, and I finished book #12 yesterday: Fatal Loyalty by Sue Duffy .

message 769: by Julianne (new)

Julianne | 63 comments I don't always join in the chatting but I do like being part of the chatty group.

message 770: by Midu (new)

Midu Hadi | 2744 comments so, anybody seen Snow White & the Huntsman? the ending sucked! I put up with the movie hoping she'd end up with Chris but it was a whole lotta waste of time!

message 771: by ✿Claire✿ (new)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 1222 comments I didn't mean it in a bad way!! I love the chat, I think it's much more fun when people talk rather than just read :)

message 772: by Krystal (new)

Krystal (crazylittlebookpage) I have 5 whole days off work! I'm guessing I'm gonna get done this book tonight or maybe tomorrow :D

message 773: by Vikki (new)

Vikki (silverstarz) | 1278 comments Midu wrote: "so, anybody seen Snow White & the Huntsman? the ending sucked! I put up with the movie hoping she'd end up with Chris but it was a whole lotta waste of time!"

I saw it at the cinema last year... having a complete blonde moment about the ending though...

message 774: by JoLene (new)

JoLene (trvl2mtns) | 705 comments Ending might have sucked and I'm not really a Kristin Stewart fan, but the costumes and production were pretty incredible.

message 775: by Barbara ★ (new)

Barbara ★ Midu wrote: "Barbara, you read Wilbur Smith too?"

I love Wilbur Smith and actually three of his books on tap for 2013.

message 776: by Barbara ★ (new)

Barbara ★ Lisa Kay wrote: "The other teams are doing mini book cover color challenges. Anyone interested in doing that? If so, what color? Should I post a poll and we can vote on the color?"

Not really. Too many books to read for other challenges and picking a certain color book is going to be really difficult.

Yes I saw it when it was in cinema - last year in spring I think. Liked the story and the whole dark and gritty atmosphere. Hated Kristin Stewart's acting even more than the ending. (Sorry to all k-stew fans). :)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 1222 comments Finally finished What Would Satan Do? by Anthony Miller , can't recommend it though, seemed to take forever to get through. Going to read DEAD ish by Naomi Kramer next and try and get a bit further with Disenchanted Book One (The Celtic Vampyre Saga) by C.K. Farrell this weekend.

EDIT: Just discovered Dead[ish] won't count but it's been sitting on my kindle for a while!

message 794: by ✿Claire✿ (new)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 1222 comments Another colour suggestion for sometime in Feb would be pink or would that be best as part of the 'red week'.

I can't wait to start :)

message 795: by [deleted user] (new)

Well I will not be reading a blue book today , so I guess Sunday to Saturday is great :)

No, I think of pink as separate from red. How about purple, also? In keeping with Valentine Day's colors.

Maybe you could enter in a week-by-week basis, if you don't want to miss out on the fun?
