Tanya (mrsreads) | 50 comments Hi everyone!

I just did the weekly check for our books and I have a request. Please double check to see if your profile is public. If it is not, please either add me or another team captain as a friend, because we can't see your shelves to verify your books.

Thank you and go team! :)

I am a huge fan of Fforde's Thursday Next series, so I jumped right in and bought the hardcover of that book when it first came out. Three tries later I still haven't managed to get half-way through the book. It was much slower moving that his other series, so kudos for powering through it! Hopefully your next read will treat you better. :)

Barbara ★ I finally finished The Big Over Easy (Nursery Crime, #1) by Jasper Fforde and though it dragged in the middle, it turned out to have a nice surprise ending. I will definitely be reading book #2 in the series.

Next book Sins of the Flesh (Otherkin, #3) by Eve Silver

I'll have to consider giving it another try, Barbara. It is, after all, just gathering dust on my bookshelf. Thanks for the update! :)

I have my profile set where goodreads members can see my profile...so I'm assuming you can see my shelves?

message 458: by Kellyanne (new)

Kellyanne Been a bit lax in posting my progress, but I finished Soulless (Parasol Protectorate, #1) by Gail Carriger this morning. It made me giggle, so I have to be happy with that :) Before that was The Secret Keeper by Kate Morton . I actually real life buddy read this one with my Nanna (who, being retired, kicks my butt in pages read per day!). This was my (and my nanna's) first book by Kate Morton. It was also our Christmas present this year. Glad it lived up to expectations! Still working my way through The Book Thief by Markus Zusak as my bed time read (which is HARD, because my New Years resolution is not to stay up till 3 am reading anymore unless I have the following day off! I may or may not have already broken said resolution, but it is not for want of continued trying).

message 459: by Midu (new)

Midu Hadi | 2744 comments I love the Parasol Protecorate series too!

Robin (Saturndoo) (robinsaturndoo) | 1359 comments Good Morning Team C!!!

Awesome Kellyanne ☺ WTG on your books finished. I loved Soulless (Parasol Protectorate, #1) by Gail Carriger and really want to start the second book of the series but other books keep pushing their way in LOL

I'm glad you and Nanna enjoyed The Secret Keeper by Kate Morton .I have that one sitting on a shelf some where patiently waiting for me to pick it up.

UGGGGHHHHH..... The Book Thief by Markus Zusak I started this one a couple of years ago because my youngest son was reading it with is English class and he kept telling me what a good book it was. It was a DNF for me. Several GR friends have talked me into picking it back up and trying it again. So it too is sitting on a shelf waiting to be picked up again LOL

Robin (Saturndoo) (robinsaturndoo) | 1359 comments It's really quiet here this morning...I hope that means everyone is reading ☺ I have several books coming up that I must get read for other challenges but I won't be able to use them here for this challenge :( as they fall in the 150-165 page range. I'm hoping to get through them quickly as there are probably 15-20 of them LOL. I'm going to try to keep a longer one going on the side if I can ☺ Have a great day team mates and catch ya on the flip side!!!!

message 481: by Julianne (new)

Julianne | 63 comments OK, I've started reading Immortal Beloved (Immortal Beloved, #1) by Cate Tiernan I got this book three Christmases ago, it's one of my oldest books in my physical TBR pile...I'm very pleased with myself that I'm finally reading it. lol

message 482: by Barbara ★ (new)

Barbara ★ I finished Body of Sin (Otherkin, #4) by Eve Silver and was disappointed. Not as good as the others in the series. Too slow and plodding.

Now I'm going to read Lost Love Found (O'Malley Saga, #5) by Bertrice Small which is a leftover series book that I should have read years ago and didn't. Unfortunately it's not a genre I enjoy anymore but I also needed a book set in turkey so I'm going to give it a shot. 495 pages might be tough.

I read this and really liked it.

message 484: by Dragana (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) I'm a little bit behind with my challenge, I got slowed down by middle-grade christian fantasy.
Spirit Fighter (Son of Angels #1) by Jerel Law Fire Prophet (Son of Angels #2) by Jerel Law
But thankfully after that I read one interesting sf mystery:
The Kassa Gambit by M.C. Planck
And awesome ya fantasy (if you liked Graceling or Seraphina - you will probably liked this one too)
The Cadet of Tildor by Alex Lidell
Now I will indulge in a little bit of romance with:
Reflected in You (Crossfire, #2) by Sylvia Day
