Ed (oct1647) I nominate "Basket Case" by Carl Hiaasen. Very funny, laugh out loud mystery!

Jahida Perelion (perry_redz) | 1 comments I also nominate Case Histories. I'm curious to find out how all three cases unfold.

I'll nominate Case Histories, the first of Kate Atkinson's Jackson Brodie detective series, which was filmed by the BBC a couple of years ago."

message 58: by Tria (new)

Tria (trialia) I've read Case Histories a couple of times already. Not a bad book. I'm very disinterested in reading Lee Child as I tried one of the Jack Reacher novels and it's too far into thriller territory for me to feel like a proper mystery. But YMMV! I also want to read The Coroner's Lunch, but since it's already been a group book, won't nominate that.

I think... hmm. Nomination this time, now that I've finally got time again to take part and moderate if it ends up being necessary (which I doubt it will be, given the number of people wanting to read Case Histories in this thread)... Okay.

Rivers of London (AKA Midnight Riot) by Ben Aaronovitch.

It's fantasy as well as crime, but it's a great series - this is the first of three so far, in which Constable Peter Grant comes under the wing of the last wizard in England, who also happens to be an officer in the London Met - Detective Chief Inspector Thomas Nightingale. I'm currently reading Moon Over Soho, book #2, but wouldn't mind revisiting #1 with the group...

Wonderkell Hi all, Happy New Year!
I'd also love to nominate Case Histories by Kate Atkinson. Looks really good :-)
