Hi, Dima. Welcome to the group. I love Dame Agatha, too! Have you read any of P.D. James's mysteries? Since you love Christie, you will probably love James, too. I love her. : )

Hi, Vida! I love San Antonio! I grew up in Texas and love anything about Texas! I am sending my thoughts and prayers to West, Texas, tonight.
I hope you enjoy our group! We are thrilled that you are here with us!
; )

Wendy, welcome to the group! We are so thrilled to have you in our group. : )

Hi, James, and welcome to the group! We are thrilled to have you as a member! What a coincidence! I just bought your book Snow Angels about a week ago. I haven't started it yet, but it was very highly recommended by a friend. The Nordic noir element is quite intriguing to me. I hope you enjoy MCT.

Hi, John! Welcome to the group! We are so excited to have you join our group. I hope you enjoy MCT.

Hi, Dima. Have you looked at Ian Rankin's books?

Thanks Connie. I hope you enjoy the book.

Thanks Jenni, I agree there is no better job for us book addicts! It was either work at a library or bookstore for me. Two of my favorite authors that I recommend are Karin Slaughter, and Lisa Gardner. Since I'm new to the group can you tell me how do I send out recommendations to y'all?

That's so sad, esp. for the children, and young adults who go to the library. You want to be nice and helpful to everyone so that they will come back.

Ian Rankin is fantastic. You will not be able to stop with just one of his books; at least I couldn't! lol Happy reading!

Joanne, welcome to the group! You will certainly find plenty of friends here to recommend great books. Happy Reading! ; )

Martin, welcome to MCT! We are thrilled to have you join our group. Having new reading and writing friends is always exciting. ; )

Thanks Connie I'm looking forward to receive 'Creep' this week.

Thanks Jenni."

I have only read 2 Martina Cole novels but they left me with the feeling that everyone was going to be the same basic story. Not for me really.

Thanks Jenni."

Your right every book is the same basic story which is your favourite author ...

Thanks Jenni."

Your right it's a similar story line in each book.

Thanks to Goodreads giveaways and my disgust with books to do with an ongoing obsession in the book market with werewolves, blood suckers (vampires) and zombies my favorite genres have expanded to include mysteries, thrillers and crime stories. Among the authors who have captured my attention are Kathy Reichs and James Patterson, but I have also discovered several new authors as well. As a person who likes to write I love a story that keeps me guessing right to the end.

My name is Jennifer. I am a nurse who reads everything I can get my hands on. But I am in grad school so I am currently at a standstill. But I do listen to audiobooks in the car on the way to work. I also just finished Gone Girl and was blown away.

I love Nero Wolfe also Ed :)

I'm Sarah, a Canadian lawyer and Goodreads author. I am also a longtime crime and thriller reader which I wholly blame on my mother who is addicted to true crime books. My erotic legal thriller, Legal Heat (Samhain Publishing)debuts next week. It is the one thriller my Mom will never read :) Next up on my reading list is...Gone Girl!

Separate from mysteries, I am also attempting the 1001 Books to Read before you die challenge just to mix it up.
Hi! My name is Delmy, from canada, i am a university student, which doesn't leave much room for reading but schools just about over!
This is my first genre specific group I've joined, I love mysteries and crime novels (fiction, don't like nonfiction) though not exclusively I love horror and the classics, have recently gotten into fantasy (game of thrones) and some science fiction ( though its mostly classic science fiction).
I am very sure I am going to enjoy this group, I will have to explore later on, nice to meet y'all!!! :D

Kelly- I am also going to attempt the 1001 books, that is a monumental task though!! Good luck with yours!!

Thank you! To you as well!

Hi Mary I live in the UK about an hours drive from Wales, I'm going to have a look at Gillian Flynn's books.

Hi Jenni it's 3 if you count me I'm a psychiatric nurse.

However, I do like j.d. Robb books and have read many of the other writers mentioned on here; but I don't have a lot of time to read as much as I would like. I do look forward to exploring more suggestions from this group and following the discussions.

Thankyou, I am also a Theatre nurse. I am still negotiating my way around Goodreads but am excited to discover new authors. Even though I have been in Canada for 12 years I am still very drawn to British authors but enjoy any good mysteries.

Hi, Ed, and welcome to the group! You may like the Colin Dexter Inspector Morse novels or the P.D. James Adam Dalgliesh novels. Of course, Nero Wolfe is so perfect few come close. ; )
Ian Rankin's Inspector Rebus is a good detective series, too.

Welcome to the group, Jennifer! Nurses are fantastic! We are thrilled to welcome you to our group!
; )

Robin, we are so excited to formally welcome you to the group! It is grand to have a new reading friend. Welcome aboard! ; )

Welcome to the group, Lisa! I understand having a busy life and having to find special time to read. I, too, do not read books filled with gore and horrific violence. I don't understand the need for it and don't want it in my head. I like suspense novels and detective procedurals, which you will find here. There are many members like us here! ; ) I am certain you will find plenty of like minded members here who will share recommendations with you.
Welcome again!

Welome to the group, Mary! Nurses are the best! We are thrilled to have you as a new member of our group! ; )
