Anne, I agree, Santa Fe is one of my all time favorite place. My son and I used to visit at least once every summer when I lived in Colorado. Hopefully I can get back there one of these days.
Welcome to the group. And that goes for all new members.

No, not a seaside town, just a truly beautiful place filled with great people and lots of history.
Hi everyone,I'm Malcolm from Sydney, Australia, a wonderful city. I love to read murder mysteries, I have read all the known to me authors and have just found Edward Marston and love it.
Oh and now through this website a lady called Patricia Wentworth. Looks like I have plenty to keep me amused on my train journeys to and from work for a little while.
Hi to everyone
Anne lives in Santa Fe, I was just a frequent visitor.I will tell you about the staircase at the Loretto Chapel of Our Lady of Light. When the Chapel was built the contractor forgot to include a stairway to the choir loft. There was no room to put in a conventional staircase and no one could figure how to get the choir up there except by a ladder. The nuns prayed to Saint Joseph for nine days (a novena). On the last day a gray-haired gentleman arrived with his donkey and tool chest and asked if he could help. After 8 months he disappeared leaving behind the most beautiful staircase ever. It is circular with 2 complete 360 degree turns, no support pole, supposedly put together with 2 wooden pegs and no nails. I will post a picture.

Well to begin Santa Fe is over 400 years old. We live at about 7000 ft which is significantly higher than Denver. Our topography is high pinon and juniper forest just below towering forested snow peaks.
We have 9 Native American pueblos within 1 1/2 of the plaza. Our homes are low pueblo or territorial style that blends into the rolling hills.
There are some great books on Sanrta Fe - if anyone's interested I'll post them on a list.
Hello everybody... I think I haven't posted here before.I live in Mexico City, work as a free lance TV and event producer and love to read almost anything. My favorites are of course, mysteries. Right now I'm reading Henning Mankell (Inspector Wallander) and a Kate Atkinson book.
My favorite authors are PD James, Ruth Rendell, Elizabeth George, Sue Grafton, Sophie Hannah, Tana French... Just realized they're all women!

Hi Jenni! I do start with Book 1, mostly because I want to know all about the characters, and I like to see how the author develops them book to book, but I know most series can be read in any order. I'm just starting with Inspector Wallander, though.

Hello all, My name is Dan. I am a recently displaced New Yorker, now residing in Wilmington, Delaware. I am a voracious reader, focusing primarily on mystery/crime novels with a lot of fantasy, historical fiction and the occasional horror novel thrown in. It would take a while to list all the authors I read but at the moment I am working my way thru the Travis McGee novels by John MacDonald, the Commisario Brunetti novels of Donna Leon and George Pelecano's novels, amongst others. Nice to meet you all!
After a 2 year long distance relationship I moved to Delaware to be with my girlfriend, who is also a reader. I miss New York not at all.
Hi! My name is Yuliya. I'm living in Chicago, but originally I'm from Russia, St. Petersburg. I am from circus family and traveled a lot with my parents. And read a lot during all long travels from city to city. I’m Performer myself and traveled around the world with my magic show. I have had so many interesting people to meet, and experience to have, and things to see, that maybe I will write the book about all that one time. I’m working as biochemist right now, but still performing time from time and my 10y daughter starting performing right now too. I love to read a lot from early childhood (started to read at 3y) . I’m reading even in bathroom then I’m brushing my teeth. I’m listening audio books during all work day then it’s possible. I like mysteries and crime. My last favorites book that I read in this area are: Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn, Defending Jacob by William Landay and In the Woods by Tana FrenchIn classic I love Daphne du Maurier
Thank you for inviting me ini group
