Happy snow day from Brooklyn

Thanks for adding new books to our shelf. I've yet to read Emma Donoghue, but have a couple of her books.
The snow is coming down fast and furious here in NH. There's close to 6 inches right now.
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
Welcome Margaret! We had about 4" on Christmas day, and now in a melt/freeze cycle which makes getting to work interesting. We're supposed to get more today and then again on New Years eve. When it rains it pours. Climate is changing.

Nancy, from what I've read of her (the above two titles plus Slammerkin, which I also really liked) Donoghue is an author that changes from book to book, so hopefully there'll be one by her you like. I really enjoy her writing.
Kernos, we're due for a really lovely snowfall tomorrow—light and coating but not debilitating to travel. NYC has had the warmest year in over a century, superstorm and all. I'm hoping to beat the storm to the laundromat and get some reading done before evening socializing wearing boots with good traction, natch.

I added two Emma Donoghue titles to the group: Kissing the Witch: Old Tales in New Skins, her retelling of fairy tales with linked stories an emphasis on women character's POV and same-sex relationships; and a contemporary, international romance Landing. I don't usually read romances so I can safely say Landing is the lesbian romance for lesbians who don't usually read romances.
I'm excited to discover new books here and am looking forward to adding new books as I find them.
