The series I picked but dropped after the book one or two

I just can't seem to want to continue this series. And I have attempted Gena Showalter's books several times and just can't get into them.

I also stopped reading Charle..."
I totally gave up on the Charley Davidson Series at the exact same point ... just a bit bored.
I must also admit to giving up on the Chicagoland Vampires though I think I read up to book 4 or 5. Just didn't like the dynamics of the main relationship at all.

lol, yeah. Are we talking about the same series here? Hehe. All I've heard about it is the crazy amount of sex she has!

Then another series that comes to mind is

I used to really like the Anita Blake books. Then, I started liking them less and less as the series progressed. I can't remember at what book this started to happen for me b/c I read them a while back. I do know that I got halfway through

Charley Davidson Series-*I know, I must be crazy* I was able to finish book 2 but I did not enjoy it as much as I wanted to. I guess it's been recommended a lot that my expectations are high.
Morganville Vampires Series- I am currerntly reading book 2 and I think I'll stop here too. Maybe on a whim I'll pick up book 3 I don't see doing that any time soon. I hated the main character, namely, Claire. YA genre has lost its "shazam" for me. I have gotten very picky and critical about YA books.
Dream Man Series- It took me ages to finish one book. I didn't relate to any of the characters.
The Host- I actually liked it but I found out that they'd release more books. Just please, No. Let's not milk the success until it's super dry. I was happy with the ending and all that has happened in here so no need to ruin it.
Redhead Series- I stopped at book 2, the story was plateauing and Grace, the main character was a little too immature for her adult age.
Chocolate Lovers Series- I'm sorry but I thought this book was terrible. Finishing the first book was so painful for me. There was complaining and bad parenting everywhere and the humor was kind of (again sorry) a little cheap.
Losing It Series- Again, I hated the main character. I just couldn't stand her. Not sure if I'll pick up the second book, I just gotta make sure that it's not about the same main character.
Immortals After Dark- The woman was portrayed as weak and pretty dumb and the man was a little too wild and beastly for my liking. (view spoiler) I just didn't care about the characters.
Wow... that's a long list. I had no idea.

A comment made in an earlier post resonated with me and I completely agree. If I read too many of one series too close together then I quickly get sick of them and then want to "give up". I also think it is a mood thing. For example, years ago I picked up the first in the In Death series four times! and still didn't read it as I thought it would be to sci-fiy. However, I was seduced by the cover of the sixth book in the series and being how I am (anal about reading from start to finish), I made myself read the first one, and now nearly 40 books in my inner reader completely puckered when another poster suggested that 40 books in a series was too long! I say firmly it depends on the series!
Having said all that, there are series which I just have given up on because life is too short to read books I can only tolerate and not thoroughly enjoy:

Have read only one of

But the series that I really really didn't like after trying 3 was:

I have a series to add to this thread. City of Bones. I just could NOT get into it. I wasn't even able to finish this book. I guess that I'd heard so much hype about it that I as expecting something that just couldn't be delivered. But at any rate, here's another one to add to the "I love chocolate, but you hate it," thing.

Gave up reading the Sookie Stackouse series after book 11, what a disappointment. Completely ruined the likeability of the heroine, in my opinion. I used to thoroughly enjoy all ..."
I agree the the Sookie books, if she ends up a
With Sam I will totally disappointed....
