Week 5 - ♬ Little Talks by Of Monsters and Men (2011)
Book: Working Stiff by Rachel Caine
Finished: February 2nd
Rating: ★★★★1/2
Review: My first Rachel Caine book and I will definitely be reading more. I'm not really a fan of Zombies but Caine's version is unique and compelling. The plot is excellent with numerous unpredictable twists and turns and the heroine comes across as very real despite her circumstances. My one small nitpick is that she has a tendency to get beaten up a lot but we can't have everything.

Review : This book will make a very cool tv show , it's like a mix of csi and buffy the vampire slayer . I liked the writing style easy and smooth , my favorite character was the hyper-crazy-mannerless-thief teenager .
There were lots of visual tricks that i'll like to see rather than read but over all the book was good .

Carob posted this in the something to talk about thread. CaroB wrote: "Captains, could you please pass this onto your teams (Emerald City Readers and Violet Femmes, you don't need to as you've gotten to pick songs):
Could everyone that hasn't yet picked a song, send a song suggestion through to Mr Elf via Private Message please. We will be choosing a song from the general suggestions for the last three weeks of the game. Thanks. ..."
Lol!I'm glad too. I just pick whatever song is in my head at the moment. For instance if I had to pick a song again it would be Locked out of Heaven by Bruno Mars. So in love with this song right now.
You ladies are absolutely on fire!! I'm not sure how you do it, but I'm a little bit in awe and definitely feeling like if I were still playing I'd possibly be stepping my foot out on the off chance one of you tripped over it... only in the nicest possible way of course, lol...Seriously, well done Violet Femmes!!! I've updated your dance card in Post #2!
OMG, just read back over that and it sounded really horrible!! It's meant as a joke but I don't think it reads as funny as it sounded in my head :-(

Rofl. That's awesome CaroB.I'm glad we don't get to choose songs anymore. I had 2 doozies picked though. Milkshake by Kelis and Barbie Girl by Aqua. Those would have been fun. :)
It is a good thing we are in cyberspace, Alley, because if either of those two songs was picked, someone (maybe me) would have tried to strangle you, lol!
Oh I could definitely see the promise in Barbie Girl.. book link possibilities galore! I wouldn't have been a big fan of studying the video clip over and over to try to get the cheat sheet happening though.
I can see it now - dozens of people having Barbie Girl stuck in their heads. "Come on Barbie, let's go....%#€$&^£ Alley!" *shakes fist in anger*
I almost chose it last time. If it had gotten picked, I would have totally been all 'Omg I'm so sorry' on the outside. On the inside, I would have been
I can't wait to see what else gets nominated. Someone else had to come up with hard songs too. Meanwhile humming in my head ♬ Life in plastic, it's fantastic ♬
You can touch, you can play If you say I'm always yours, ooh ooh ooh ( hmmmmm 8 years' old ringtone or pornstar's moto ? ) I'm a Barbie girl in the Barbie world hehehe
Some of us haven't send a song yet. Don't tempt me! :D*Come on Barbie, let's go party! ah ah ah yeah*

ROFL!!
Potential songs are up and at this point I would have rather had Barbie Girl. Unless someone else can come up with something brilliant and easily accesible I might be low on points again, unless it is the Devil went down to Georgia.Gea : "Hard Rock Hallelujah" by Lordi (2006)Video|Lyrics

Just a review from snooping the other teams. So far only Orange and us have submitted for points.
Based on the books that have been read, I am pretty sure Yellow will still beat us for points overall.
Green will be close, we will be with in 5 points of them depending on thier last book.
I am almost positive we will over take red.
So that will at least bump us up to 3rd place if not second.

Book: My Favorite Mistake - Chelsea M Cameron

Review: Super quick read. Taylor lives in co-ed housing on campus with 2 other girls. The fourth roommate turns out to be a hot guy named Hunter. Taylor isn't happy and tries her best to get him out. Things happen and they fall in love, of course. I found both Taylor and Hunter annoying but kind of cute in a screwed-up person kind of way. I'd normally give a book like this 3 ★s. The extra ★ is because it sucked me in and I didn't want to put it down until I was done.

. It is at least 13 points maybe 19. It is only partially set in the desert so I am not sure if it will count.
CaroB wrote: "Alley, sorry him, cover doesn't quite make it."It does according to this post, but I'll change it.
My sincere apologies, Alley. I hadn't read that post before. My bad, almost kissing is counted as cover points, don't change it. Sorry for the mix up!

ShoSho **The sick chick** wrote: "Is it any good Dawn? the rating is low ..."It's ok so far. I'm not enjoying the heroine. The plot is ok, the sex scenes a bit unbelivable. Right now I'd give it 3 stars, but I read the ratings and someone said there is a clifhanger, so I am not sure the ending will help.
