I haven't read eithr of them, I just have them on eBooks if you need, but from what I can see, #1 is a contemporary and #2 in the series is historical, so I don't think you do have to read them in order... Can someone else advise?

No it's the same person Shosho, she just used different pseudonyms for different genres... kind of like Nora Roberts does with JD Robb.

Though that's another reason why I thought you might not necessarily need to have read them in order.

I read this one out of order for another challenge a few years ago that I needed the Q for. It isn't needed to read the others first. I put the others on my list that I wanted to read but have never gotten to them.

Can we use a "U" that's anywhere in a word, or should we use words that start with "U"? I'm confused

Shosho, the initial ruling had been that for quickstops, the letter needed could be at the beginning of any two words in either the title, the author's first/last name or the series name... however, back when I got really busy when I first went back to full time work, we had someone who chose a quickstop book with the understanding that as long as the letter occurred twice anywhere in the title/author name /series name, it would count... and to be honest, when I realised what had happened I thought, why not... this challenge is hard enough because you have to read the books in order. The quickstops letters can make it almost impossible... so yes, for quickstops, the rules are bent, and whichever way you choose to go with them is ok...

My first impulse is to try for the U at the beginning of the words, but with so many awesome choices having just been given to me, I think I'll end up going with whichever I feel like reading first :-)
