Sounds like a series to me. Yes, it is possible to have a series with multiple authors. Create the series using the first book, then edit the series to add the other books. I would order it by publication date.
There is a science fiction series called Metro 2033. It consists of several books (note, only the first one was translated to english yet), only two of them by the original author (Metro 2033, Metro 2034) while the rest are by different authors, but they all share the same universe and basic background.
So, should they be connected by a series? I personally think so, because after all, they're more or less losely connected, but on the other hand, they're from different authors. Is it even possible to make a series with books by different authors?
