Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Oct 2011, I asked everyone which books were on your 2012 wishlist.
Did you read them all?

?¿ If so, how were they?
?¿ If not, do you plan to read them in 2013?

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments When Sandra asked, What books are a MUST for 2012? I mentioned my favorites, but also noted that I'd like to start these new series:

The Taken (Celestial Blues, #1) by Vicki Pettersson Once Burned (Night Prince, #1) by Jeaniene Frost Wicked Nights (Angels of the Dark, #1) by Gena Showalter Precinct 13 by Tate Hallaway Full Blooded (Jessica McClain, #1) by Amanda Carlson The City's Son (The Skyscraper Throne, #1) by Tom Pollock What's Left of Me (The Hybrid Chronicles, #1) by Kat Zhang The Angel (The Original Sinners, #2) by Tiffany Reisz Death and the Girl Next Door (Darklight, #1) by Darynda Jones Angel's Ink (The Asylum's Tales, #1) by Jocelynn Drake Iced (Dani O'Malley, #1) by Karen Marie Moning After Dark (The 19th Year, #1) by Emi Gayle Shadow's Claim (The Dacians Realm of Blood and Mist, #1) by Kresley Cole Last Kiss Goodnight (Otherworld Assassin, #1) by Gena Showalter

Of that list, I have only started three so far:
Once Burned (Night Prince, #1) by Jeaniene Frost Wicked Nights (Angels of the Dark, #1) by Gena Showalter The Angel (The Original Sinners, #2) by Tiffany Reisz (Angel is actually book2)

I'm adding (most of) these to my TBR in 2013 list.

Josie | 1967 comments Well done, Steph! You read quite a lot of them :D

It's probably good that you didn't read Tempest’s Fury - I heard it ends with a cliffhanger. I'm waiting until the last book of the series (I think) comes out in 2013 so I can read both at once.

Glad you liked Before I Wake - I started the first last night and quite enjoying it.

For myself I only really said I'd read Fury's Kiss which of course I did and loved! I don't tend to set targets myself because I never reach them but I did read just under 30 books that were published in 2012. Most of them I really enjoyed :)

message 5: by Desperado (last edited Dec 17, 2012 02:13AM) (new)

Desperado (lethallovely) | 1360 comments I'm surprised. I actually ended up reading 16 out of the 22 books I listed for my 2012 Wishlist (& two I deleted from my TBR for reasons such as horrific reviews).

Out of those 16, my favorites were: Once Burned (Night Prince, #1) by Jeaniene Frost Fury's Kiss (Dorina Basarab, #3) by Karen Chance Fair Game (Alpha & Omega, #3) by Patricia Briggs Lothaire (Immortals After Dark, #12) by Kresley Cole

Out of those 16, my big disappointments were: Enshadowed (Nevermore, #2) by Kelly Creagh The Darkest Seduction (Lords of the Underworld, #9) by Gena Showalter Kissin' Tell (Rough Riders, #13) by Lorelei James

Out of the 4 remaining on my TBR (excluding the 2 I removed), I plan to read these in 2013: Girl of Nightmares (Anna, #2) by Kendare Blake The Calling (Darkness Rising, #2) by Kelley Armstrong

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Looks like we all did well as far reading those we predicted we would.

For those left on your TBR, do you plan to read them or have you changed your mind?

message 10: by Josie (last edited Dec 21, 2012 05:12PM) (new)

Josie | 1967 comments For my TBR in general, I rarely take anything off of it. In fact, I can't actually think of a book that I've removed though I do mentally put some down towards the bottom of the pile for various reasons. The only books I might have changed my mind on are series I've abandoned.

My resolution next year would be to carry on with series I've already started. So far since October I have completed two series (which have come to an end) and caught up with eight nine more :)

Sandra | 25908 comments Wow, very good Josie, always a relief and sadness when a series comes to the end.

message 12: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments WTG, Josie! I start off every year saying I'll finish up my ongoing series (or at least catch-up). For some, I do, most ... not so much.

"always a relief and sadness when a series comes to the end" ~~ That's it exactly. I hate it when they end (for the most part), but it is a bit of relief because that's one less to keep up with.

Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ | 9662 comments Since I put mu list of series up on this group...I feel a bit more inclined to try to finish series. There is something to be said when you have around 70 series you say you like and want to finish....and don't.

As for series ending...sometimes it's exactly the time to finish...while it's still good.

message 14: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments Thanks guys! Completely agree - I really have respect for the author when they can end their series in a good place. It must be hard but in the long run, it's usually better for everyone.

I want to end up with about 50 series on the go... but I think that is rather optimistic :P
