Steve Corley | 3 comments I am new to the group and was wondering if any one else in here writes in the CF genre. I am new at that also as I have just published my first book.

Carlene Havel (chch) | 43 comments Welcome! Lots of avid readers are also writers--I am. I've found the Goodreads giveaway is an excellent way to make people aware of your work.

message 3: by Jean (new)

Jean Coleman | 89 comments Welcome to Goodreads where everyone loves books! I am an author and have found it good to communicate with people who enjoy reading. Of course, I hope that they will read my book, but it's just really good to read their comments on other books. The people on Goodreads don't just read the best seller books, but also read new releases that appeal to them. And as an author it's good to get to know the people you are hoping to reach with your novel.Chapter 29 Revisited

Carrie Daws Hey Steve! I'm also a Christian author writing in the Inspirational Fiction genre.

Evelynn (authorgirlev) I am an aspiring writer, if that counts! I've been writing for almost 7 years, mostly historical fiction and Christian historical fiction. I hope to get published someday.... Although I have been published in a youth magazine twice, a third time coming in June.

If you have a completed manuscript, you could submit it to my publisher at http://www.prismbookgroup.com/submiss... . I've found Prism easy to work with, and they welcome Christian fiction.

message 7: by Mesu (new)

Mesu | 34 comments Hi y'all! I'm a Christian fiction author with two books out and a third to release in March 2013 (Revell), all biblical fiction. It's tough to keep up with the discussions here, but I try to pop in occasionally and especially take notice if someone chats about a book in my specific genre. The road to publication is different for everyone but seldom an easy one. And STAYING published isn't a promise either? ha! Blessings on y'all!

Catherine Richmond | 29 comments Welcome, Steve. I have two inspirational romances out - Spring for Susannah and Through Rushing Water.

Jason Wellnitz | 4 comments Hello Everyone - My new short novel has been out for a couple weeks now. I'd love some first impressions and feedback. Once you take a look, if you know of any books that are in the same vein I'd like to know about them. Thanks!

I'm hoping Goodreads will someday sponsor eBook giveaways in addition to print books. Considering my hearty reading appetite, I'd go broke trying to buy all those hard copies.

Hi Steve,
I did not set out to write my book for the Christian audience, but am finding that people of faith are responding to my first book, Until the Robin Walks on Snow, released in September. It happens to be free today and tomorrow (Dec 30-31) on Amazon Kindle.

Pam Funke | 17 comments With the upcoming release of my second book, The World at War, I am looking for bloggers willing to host me for a book spotlight, book review, author interview, guest blog, etc for the month of February 2013. I'm looking for a different blogger for each day of the month. If you are interested please send me a message. Thanks so much.

message 20: by Nicole (new)

Nicole I am a new author, publishing my first book at the end of January. It's inspirational fiction. Can you tell me how I might get my book out for free in order to get goodreads reviews? I've seen authors do it, I am just not sure how:) Thank you!

I hope you'll find out how to accomplish what you want to do. I'd say "good luck" with your first book, but we all know there's no such thing as luck. Blessings!

Are you referring to the Goodreads giveaways? After you register yourself as a Goodreads author, go to your dashboard, scroll down, and you'll see "giveaways" on the left side of the screen. Click there and you'll be shown a wizard that walks you through the process. It's not as hard as I may have made it sound! After the giveaway is done, the recipient of your (printed) book is morally obligated to write a review, but not all do so.

message 23: by Jean (new)

Jean Coleman | 89 comments Last month I gave away ten books on a Goodreads giveaway, but only one person has written a review. I was really disappointed that there wasn't more of a response. Possibly the book was just added to a stack of "to be read books" that the people already had. It was my understanding that about 60% of the people who received the free book would write a review. Maybe I am too impatient and haven't given everyone enough time. But I am certainly not sorry that I ran the giveaway because it does give your book exposure to lots of people who although they may not "win" a book at least are aware that the book is available. My cost to send out each book was $5.50 (my cost of the book plus first class postage) and maybe I could have had the same exposure if I had only offered one or two on the giveaway as my total cost was over $50. Anyway, I am still believing for more reviews that might show up sometime in the future. Chapter 29 Revisited

I think the number of books to put into each giveaway depends on the author's goal(s). I've had the same/more response when offering one book as when offering 2-3. Obviously, if the primary goal is to be read - more is better.

message 25: by Steve (new)

Steve Corley | 3 comments I recently gave away 5 books. I used the book rate from the USPS and it was much cheaper (except to the lady from Australia that won.)

message 26: by Carlene (new)

Carlene Havel (chch) | 43 comments I've found US Post Ofc much cheaper than UPS, especially when sending books outside the United States.

Wow I will be writing a similar series but more so about the Watchers (which we know slept with women and their offspring were Nephilims). Another author who deals with this is Invisible Enemies

Light Messages Publishing (lmpublishing) | 4 comments Author David Kovach recently published the Christian suspense novel, Five Days of Fear, which as received great reviews! The ebook version was picked as a Hot 100 for March on Kindle and his paperback was just picked up for in-store placement at B&N.

One more piece of evidence that Christian fiction can be every bit as good (and better) as anything else out there.

Heather Sutherlin (hsutherlin) | 3 comments I have a series that is Christian allegorical fantasy for middle grades or young adult. A Light In the Darkness and To Light The Path are the first two books. I'll also be releasing a new series this year where the main characters are given powers by the Holy Spirit to fight evil. A sort of modern super heroes adventure, but with the power of God behind them. You can watch for all my titles here: http://heathersutherlin.com/my-books/

message 43: by Adrienna (new)

Adrienna (adriennaturner) Heather, it sounds familiar to a series I just reviewed and read the first two of three: Mists of Darkness: Book Two of the Mist Trilogy

Jake Yaniak Hi, I've written an epic fantasy novel for adults entitled The Punishment of the Gods. It is written from a Christian worldview, but the Christian themes are intentionally subtle. It is available for free on Amazon.com today. If you are looking for a serious fantasy novel with Christian themes, please check it out. I am currently working on a prequel for it, and I intend to write a sequel eventually.

It can be downloaded here:
