Roger Hardnock (rogerhardnock) | 9 comments The Stand is a great place to start. And if you want to start and never stop reading, move from there into The Dark Tower!

Linda (beaulieulinda117gmailcom) | 1115 comments I've just got to finish the last book for the dark tower read. The way it's going I might not get to it this month.

Leslie Hanshew I have great shame admitting this, but I have never read The Dark Tower series. I have no good excuses and shall not bs anyone with bad ones. I will now go sit in the corner as punishment. Hopefully forgiveness abounds with Constant Readers!

You have not forgotten the face of your father, you need not ask forgiveness and punish yourself not for no crime is committed.

Roger Hardnock (rogerhardnock) | 9 comments Don’t feel bad about that! I was just like you a few years back. I had not read it as well. In fact, I feel ashamed to say that I was not even interested. I thought it was a western series and it just didn’t appeal to me. But I was in need of a KING fix and I thought, what the hell! All I can say now is that I was hooked! I don’t think I’ve ever read a million page story so fast!

It's not a western??? LOL! After I crawl out from the rock I've been living under, I'm going to get started on the series. I totally thought it had a western theme which isn't really my thing. Belly laugh requirement for the day? Fulfilled!

Surprise Roger you aren't alone I thought the same way. Like you I burned through it on the first read.

Hi and welcome to goodreads and the King pages. Not sure what to call you is it Tips or Horror Fiction Shopper. I will try not to call you late for King discussions though as we always like more input from other constant readers.

Arka | 4 comments Hi. I'm Arka. I come from a mystical land world call India. So it's evident that I love Stephen King. Currently reading the book two of the Dark Tower series.

Always good to see a reader share my love for The Dead Zone, it is the best King book IMO that is somehow always overlooked.

But that is blasphemy mrbooks, when it comes to beers you got to have bombers and not pints : )

I don't know if you can hit audio book (I personally don't listen to audio books), but you could easily just put in that you read that book, and it will count. If I did audio, I would count the books as read.

Joshua Dodd (jdizzle619) | 3 comments Hi! My name is Josh, I love Kings work. It amazes and excites me every time. There is something to be said about an author who can constantly surprise and entertain with each book! No matter the genre, he is like a ninja stealthily moving between genres with ease lol!!!

Any ways I would love to make friends with like minded folks and discuss the novels that truly hold a fine place in my heart! I love horror and am somewhat of a collector. Cant wait to get involved with the group!

I am very new to Goodreads so I might be a bit slow, Im not into the whole social media thing.

Andre Z (andre94) Hi I'm Andre, I started reading King toward the end of high school 6-7 years ago probably. That being said, I don't actually remember whether my first read was The Shining, or The Gunslinger (though I lean much more towards it being The Shining). I wanted to give him a shot given his reputation as a great horror writer and my own growing fascination with horror at the time. I became a big fan immediately and The Shining is still arguably my favourite novel by him (rounding out my top 3 with The Stand and DT II but I guess that depends on the day). I used to be a biased fanboy but these days I'm a lot more objective in my reviews and critiques of his work in conversations, as I feel it's more fair and people take me more seriously that way :) That being said, even objectively speaking, he earned the fame he's received for his works and I'll always appreciate how he reawakened my love for reading as a YA.

Working towards reading his entire body of work!

Matt | 193 comments Welcome Andre. It’s awesome how Stephen King is still accessible to young and adults and can get them excited about reading. My high school years would have been very dull without SK.

The Angry Lawn Gnome (mostlyharmlessreviews) Hello, all. I'm an old school King reader who's interested in checking out some of his newer books. Figured I'd join this group to help that along.

Probably won't be posting much, but I'll certainly be lurking. Evident from the fact that I signed up for the group a week or two ago and am just getting around to posting here, if nothing else.

One question: Based upon it being a group read, I actually grabbed a copy of The Deep from my local library, but I don't see the discussion thread inside the group anywhere. Just curious where it might be.

Michael (mmhasspoken) | 1 comments Hiya! My name is Mike. I’m 48-years-old and I’ve been reading King since I was 14. Believe it or not, I still haven’t read them all. However, my favorite is The Shinning which I have read 5 or 6 times. I’m in no particular hurry to read them all, because there will always be a new one to reach for if I don’t. Pleasure to meet you all.

Hi Michael and welcome, That is an interesting way of looking at it. I look at it the other way around. The more I read, the more I have to add to my re read pile.
