Yep, Regina - you're right! It was the "Wicked" Shayla Black series that I was confusing the Maya Banks "Sweet" series.

Still, I think that I like Maya's highlander books better than her contemporary stuff. Maybe the more modern stuff seems trite and done-to-death. When writers have to rely on history and historical events, mores, etc., it seems to me that they stretch themselves more to create a better story. It's not all about the sex, if you know what I mean; there's some DEPTH to it.
