Nichola As most of you are likely to do, I read a lot of book BUT, there are only a few that I can read over and over again. The Harry Potter series is not one that I can physically read over and iver again but I do listen to the audio books due to spending a lot of time in my car. The books I can re read are;

The Host - Stephenie Meyer
The Colour Purple - Alice Walker
The Beach - Alex Garland
Timeline - Michael Crichton
The Time Travellers Wife - Audrey Niffeneger
For One More Day - Mitch Albom
The Five People You Meet In Heaven - Mitch Albom

There are probably a few more but this is all I can think of right now. Which books (top few if you have more) can you read over and over again and why?

Jeni I read everything over and over. I have worn out several series, though, so I'll list those as my favorites:

The Clan of the Cave Bear series by Jean Auel
Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon
Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
It, The Stand, and The Talisman by Stephen King
Game of Thrones series by George R.R. Martin
The Princess Bride by William Goldman
Time and Again by Jack Finney

There are many, many others, but these all have been replaced at least twice in my library.

Game of thrones keeps popping up in my suggestions list but I've never got around to reading them.

I'm a huge fan and recommend them to anyone that will listen. :)

Well I am looking for something new, I'll put them top of the list :)

Jeni You might enjoy Time and Again, too. It's a bit dated (60s-ish), but it's a fun story. The author uses pictures of NY in the 1800s to illustrate his tale.

Nichola Fiction can be timeless. I'll look it up thanks :)

The Lord of the Rings because I see something different every time I read it.

Erin - Harry Potter
- The Clan of the Cave Bear series
- Cassandra Clare's books: The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices
- The Host
- The Mists of Avalon
- Fire, Bitterblue, and Graceling by Kristen Cashore.

Honestly if I like it enough I will reread it. I realized as my list kept going that there are just too many.

Laura Well, the Harry Potter series is one I can DEFINITELY read over and over again. I'm currently up to Half-Blood Prince for the third time.
But some others would be:
-The Fault in Our Stars
-The Hunger Games
-The Lorien Legacies
-Anything that's amazing!
I would also recommend 'when you reach me' is a really amazing book, one of the books that got me interested in reading and it's a small, fun one to read on a rainy day if you've got nothing else to do. Though I wouldn't recommend it to people out of their teen years, they may find it boring and childish.

Emma Harry Potter, The Black Magician Trilogy, Epic, Saga, Edda, Gone series, the First Law Trilogy, Gallagher Girls series, Divergent, Insurgent. I do tend to re-read a lot of my books; I'm just the kind of person who can.

Najla Madwar The Harry Potter books are even better the second time reading.
So are The Hunger games books.
On the Jellicoe Road.
Fire and Graceling by Kristen Cashore.
Legend by Marie Lu.

Rebecca When I was 10 I read the first Harry Potter book 13 times. I am now 22 and can't say I've done that again but I do like to re-read books. Most times i re-read if they are going to become a movie. or if there in a new one in the series coming out. just to refresh.

Nellie ☾ I've reread these (and would love to reread them again):
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Harry Potter, #3) by J.K. Rowling
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Harry Potter, #2) by J.K. Rowling The Host (The Host, #1) by Stephenie Meyer Delirium (Delirium, #1) by Lauren Oliver Pandemonium (Delirium, #2) by Lauren Oliver The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games #1) by Suzanne Collins Catching Fire (The Hunger Games, #2) by Suzanne Collins Mockingjay (The Hunger Games, #3) by Suzanne Collins

Then I won't mind rereading these too (I've just recently read them):
Matched (Matched, #1) by Ally Condie Crossed (Matched, #2) by Ally Condie Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth Insurgent (Divergent, #2) by Veronica Roth

and HP 1, 4, 5, 6, & 7 that I haven't yet bought so I'm sure I would have to reread the whole series soon xD

message 27: by Mary (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mary The Warrior Cats series by Erin Hunter. It never gets old. NEVER

SarahO I really haven't started re-reading books until recently. The most I've ever read a book is 3 times and that's Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.

Rebecca I am a chronic re-reader. I've read the Harry Potter books several times... that is possibly an understatement- many times is more like it. Many many times... lol! Some of the books I have read the most:
-Little Women
-Jean Auel series- Clan of the Cave Bear, etc. I think I have read these slightly fewer times than HP...
-James Herriot's books starting with All Creatures Great and Small, etc
-Belle Prater's Boy
-The Young Wan, The Mammy, The Chisellers, The Granny by Brendan O'Connell (SO good!)
-Any Terry Pratchett book
-Jurassic Park
-The Shopaholic series
-The Hunger Games
-Song of the Lioness Quartet
-Wild Magic quartet
-The Crestomanci chronicles
This list could go on FOREVER lol. I love to read!

Susan Ferguson I, too, am a chronic re-reader.
I re-read
-The Hobbit & The Lord of the Rings
-all of Jane Austen
-the Harry Potter books
-books by Charles Dickens
-any and all Terry Pratchett
-any book by Georgette Heyer
-the Silver Brumby series (I realize they're children's books, but I still love them)
and more - if I liked it the first time, I'll probably pick it up and read it again

Jenika Ioffreda Nichola wrote: "How would you retitle the two you didn't like if you could? "
uhm... this is an interesting question... I actually never thought about alternative titles to the two books... maybe "How to marry a millionaire vampire" may be something about fangs? The two characters meet because Roman lost a fang and needs someone to re-attach it to his gums before it get sealed forever ... and Shanna is the dentist whom he asks to do it... yep, I think a title about fangs might work...
did you read the books? Do you have any alternative title in mind?

Jenika Ioffreda Susan wrote: "-any and all Terry Pratchett...."

... I love the Tiffany Aching series!!!

Nichola No, just interested in your opinion :)

Bethany I always have such a long "to-read" list that I rarely take the time to "re-read", but here is what I read again and again...

Little House on the Prairie series
September by Rosamunde Pilcher
Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon
The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield
Gone With the Wind
I Know This Much is True by Wally Lamb
Wuthering Heights

There may be more, but for now, just making this list makes me want to read these again!

infael Game of Thrones
Shannara
Midkemia

Basically, when a book series is released over a long period of time, I'll re-read the series to catch up. GOT is a great example. When Butcher releases his final Dresden book, I'll probably re-read the whole thing.

Also, when I haven't read a series for a long time and I have access to the books, I'll re-read. In a couple years, I'll want to re-read Mark Chadbourn's books and the Witches of Eileanan series.

Turquoise House of Night Series
The Mortal Instruments
The Wake Trilogy
Diary of a Wimpy Kid(Yeah, I cant help it!)
Blue Bloods Series
Septimus Heap Series
The Chronicles of Nick
A Series of Unfortunate Events
Vampire Academy

If you ever see any of these books in my hands, DO NOT BOTHER ME!!! I will be completely engrossed into the book to the point where I see and hear nothing around me. And God forbid I have headphones in. I am dead to the world. I love these books!!!

Rossy Vampire Academy series <3
Harry Potter
Tiger's Curse
The Host
Twilight (don't hit me! ;D)
Hungah Games (but not the last one because it was waaaay too different and bloody and weird)
Nightshade

and i can't think of any others right now, but if i think of more then i'll just add to the list ;p

Stéphanie - most of Simone van der vlught books, (dutch writer)
- Mortal Instruments
- Pride and Prejudice
- Rubyred series (kerstin Gier)
- the hunger games trilogy

Ciara The whole Harry Potter series; no joke. I will sometimes read the whole series if:

* I have no new books at the current time
* A book is boring me so much, I have to stop...so I read Harry Potter.

Otherwise, I'll read one individual HP book :)
