I'll wait few more hours and if there's still no answer I'll pick something else. Sounds good?

No problem. Here it goes...Hint #1: The count of movies based on this book reaches double figures.
If you want more hints - ask :)
Hmm... There's probably more movies with that line, but right now I can only think of "Some Like It Hot", heh. Osgood's line in this (->youtube) scene."Well, there is this one girl. I’ve had a crush on her ever since I can remember. But I’m pretty sure she didn’t know I was alive until the reaping."
(book)
hint: YA
Ooh...Peeta. The Hunger Games Suzanne Collins"One day you will wonder if it's possible to hate me more."
--book--
Wouldn't be hard to guess where this quote comes from. =)"If there were an international butt competition, Eric would win, hands down—or cheeks up."
:) Sookie (thinking to herself) in Dead to the World by Charlaine HarrisHmm... A long-ish one...
"Now, this is where I draw the line! It's bad enough everybody in town's going to be thinkin' I'm sleeping with a depressed, lice-ridden, hemorrhoidal foreigner who likes to be tied up and might be pregnant, although-since she's just about cornered the market on condoms-I don't know how that could have happened. But I will not-you listen to me, E---!-I absolutely will not have anybody thinkin' a woman of mine needs a vaginal moisturizer, do you hear me?"
(book, contemporary romance)
Haha (lol) same here. I don't think I've read that one but I will definitely read it..when someone guessed that line correctly.
Great quote, Annvelwis, although I have no clue where it came from.*settles down with Penney and Purple to wait for the answer*
Not Lori Foster, no :)I'm glad the quote took up your intrest. It's from one of my favorite books.
Ok, here's the hint. It'll be a big one I think... The author of this book seems to love athletes. She's most known for her romance series that takes place in Chicago and stars a string of talented sportsmen. This book does not come from it, but it's hero is an athlete, too.
Hey, that's Susanne Elizabeth Phillips (Yz's fave contemporary romance author) and mine too. I love her and I would have remembered that line if its from the Chicago Stars series but its not so.. Now you got me really hooked. =)
Hmmm...I swear I've read all SEP's Chicago Stars books, but it had been a while, and I could not place that quote.*racking her brains to find the answer*
Oops...brain freeze...just noticed your line that says its not a Chicago Stars book.
*back to waiting*
I'm planning on reading Natural Born Charmer this week. But since it's not an SEP, I guess it's not in there. The only other SEP I have is Ain't She Sweet and I haven't read it yet.
Photojim,Natural Born Charmer is an SEP book. Can't wait for you to read the first couple chapters. It had me laughing like a loon. : )
Yep, it's SEP :) Heh, could we concede victory to Purple as she first guessed what author that is? If not, I can either give you more hints or just tell you what book that quote's from and pick another...
All right, one more hint and then either somebody answers by midnight (in my time zone it's in less than 3 h) or I do :] And let's be honest, at this point title of the book seems sufficient enough.I have mixed feelings about choosing this quote. It's funny, it's memorable, author isn't an obscure one so I thought it'll be fairly easy to guess... On the other hand I'm delighted you like it enough to wait for the book's title, heh.
Hint #2... Heroine has at least 3 things in common with Mary Poppins: english accent, work with children and an umbrella. One of these things is illustrated in one version of the book's cover.
Well, it would have to be Lady Emma Wells-Finch from Lady Be Good though I haven't read it.If that is correct, let me know and I'll post an easy quote.
That's it, Photojim :)And I recommend it to those who want something light and funny to read. It's not the best book I've ever read, but I love it nonetheless.
Here's an easy quote that should take about two seconds:I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Me..me... I know this one.
Dune by Frank Herbert
I love this book.
Photojim wrote: "Well, it would have to be Lady Emma Wells-Finch from Lady Be Good though I haven't read it."OKay, this sounds so good I just ordered it from PBS (paperbackswap). Thanks for the recommendation. :)
Finally, thank the Lord! Light and funny is just what I need right now... Lady Be Good it is then! Thanks Annvelwis for the great quote and Photojim for having the winning answer ;)

Should I read Fancy Pants first or do you think Lady be Good is a stand alone book
Hehe, sorry for the long wait, Penny.Biransgirl, Penny and all who plan on reading the book: I hope you'll like "Lady be good" at least half as much as I do :))
Maybe we need some rules how fast we can/should drop the hints, heh. Right now I tend to give them when I'm asked for them...
Penney wrote: "Annvelwis wrote: "That's it, Photojim :)And I recommend it to those who want something light and funny to read. It's not the best book I've ever read, but I love it nonetheless."

You can go ahead and read Lady Be Good as a stand alone. Characters form Fancy Pants do appear and meddle in Lady Be Good, but their role is sufficiently described in the book.
Photojim wrote: "So are we waiting for Yz to post the next quote?"Hmm, yes, I guess we do, unless you want to cut in ;)
Oops....I guess I need to post the next quote:Here is someting easy:
"I swear by my life and my love of it that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine."
Heh, I have this nagging feeling that I know this line... It's really strange, because I usually don't have a problem with pinpointing a scene the quote is from. But it's a blank here, heh.Help?
Well, that gave it away. It is in fact the John Galt pledge from Atlas Shrugged. I remember reading this in the mid 80's. I don't remember much about it, and never would have gotten this without Google. On the other hand I remember the Fountainhead fairly well. Same opinions, different book. I also have thought that the character of Roarke in J.D. Robb's In Death series was based upon the lead character to The Fountainhead.
You were not being unreasonable in your thoughts that someone would have known this right off the bat.
Next quote:"'I'm Min's fairy godmother, Charm Boy,' Liza said, frowning down at him. 'And if you don't give her a happily ever after, I'm going to come back and beat you to death with a snow globe.'
'What happened to "bibbity bobbity boo"?' Cal asked Min.
'That was Disney, honey,' Min said. 'It wasn't a documentary.'"
Photojim wrote: "Well, that gave it away. It is in fact the John Galt pledge from Atlas Shrugged. I remember reading this in the mid 80's. Not to bug myself with the philosophy, I thought Atlas Shrugged was great fiction, with larger-than-life heroes. : )
Switch the books and I had a similar experience. And I don't agree with the philosophy at all BTW. But to each his own.
"Damn, Claire. Warn a guy before you do a face-plant on the floor next time. I could have looked all heroic and caught you or something."
Well, it's got to be a contemporary. With the light banter it could be a Jennifer Crusie or maybe a Susan Elizabeth Phillips possibly even a Vicki Lewis Thompson.I'll have to go with IDK for now.
