Vavita Unfortunately in Germany even season 2 has not arrived yet :-(
I have to wait and see if perhaps I manage to go to USA in february and buy the blu ray.
I have catched glimpses of the second season in youtube but is not the same!
You guys in USA are so lucky!

Jackie (thelastwolf) Animated History of the Night's Watch, voiced by Ygritte: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2TQHj...

This is pretty cool, it starts with Jon saying his oath, but people record their Oath and by the end there's many voices. I'm gonna keep going back just to hear how many more people join in. Take the Night's Watch Oath: http://mywatchbegins.com/

Chris Haught (haughtc) | 903 comments I love Ygritte's voice.

Jackie (thelastwolf) Me too. That why I liked the animated thing. Did you check out the Oath thing? It's got more voices today than it did last night.

Jackie (thelastwolf) 2 weeks! And DW premieres the night before, best weekend ever!

message 19: by Chris , The Kingslayer (new)

Chris Haught (haughtc) | 903 comments DW?

Oh, and Walking Dead's season finale comes on at the SAME TIME as GoT.

message 20: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) Doctor Who. I don't watch WD, I hate zombies. White Walkers are so much cooler, lol

message 21: by Chris , The Kingslayer (new)

Chris Haught (haughtc) | 903 comments Ahh yes.

DW for you. WD for me.

message 22: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) GRRM interview about the show and The Winds of Winter:
http://social.entertainment.msn.com/m...

This makes me sad:
" Martin admitted that it may be a while before the next one,"The Winds of Winter," comes out:
'I am working on it. It will be a long time coming. I have many many more pages to do, but I have some great stuff planned for it: a lot of blood and fire and death and devastation and ravens coming home to roost.' "

message 23: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) It doesn't bother me because it's what I expected, years, at least 5 from when ADWD's publish date. If it exceeds 5 years, then I'll be upset .... and pissed off.

message 24: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) I expected years too, but his sense of time is always off. So when he says it will be a long time coming...that sorta scares me. lol.

message 25: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) That's true. He said 'See ya next year at the end of AFFC', we know how that turned out. I'm gonna sound like a bitch saying this, but I don't think he'll complete the series in 7 novels either and he'll probably die before finishing. He's 60-something now. 10 years for 2 more novels, good luck with that.

message 26: by Dan (new)

Dan Schwent (akagunslinger) I wonder if George will start a James Patterson-style sweatshop to help him with the remaining books if the pressure of keeping ahead of the HBO series proves to be too much.

message 27: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) I agree. I think it's being realistic.

message 28: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) Dan, if he does, then he runs the risk of ruining the integrity of the novels. I rather they go unfinished than be ruined.

message 29: by Dan (new)

Dan Schwent (akagunslinger) I'd rather he wrote them himself but the way things are going, the show will be caught up with the books by the time Winds of Winter is published.

Like you said earlier, I doubt he'll be able to wrap things up in two more books. At some point, the show is going to go on a years-long hiatus, even if they split the remaining books into two seasons each.

message 30: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) The show catching up has been a real concern right from the start. I read that he told the show's writers where he's going with it. I don't think that's a good enough solution. I like to read epics first, then see the visuals. There's no pay off to reading an epic if I know the story already.

message 31: by Dan (new)

Dan Schwent (akagunslinger) Right on. I hope he doesn't abandon the books in favor of the TV show.

message 32: by Jackie (last edited Mar 21, 2013 12:13PM) (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) Then he's go from being on the great authors to the biggest douche. If his chooses this option, then we're just gonna have to kill him, reenact one of our favorite death scenes from the books. lol

Chris Haught (haughtc) | 903 comments I would love that.

message 38: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) That would be cool. I'm worried that he won't live to finish, anyway. An 3000 more pages? From what I recall (possibly wrong), his last 1500 pages turned into twice that.
