I think that the important point is, keep writing. I would still advise you to not send your early drafts out to soon, nor to too many people.

Once your story is completed, then get more people involved and consider their input. But...at the start, if you get too many people looking over your shoulder it is too distracting and confusing.

Just write! Write from your heart. Write what your characters are telling you to write about. But the most important thing is to just write.

Also, I am here for you...I believe in you...You have talent! Oh, and you characters believe in you as well, or else they would not have invaded your imagination :]

Oh and lastly, I not by any means trying to put myself out as an expert. I am just giving you a piece of my personal experience. Nothing more, nothing less. There are many more in this group, in this thread, that are more experienced and more professional than I.

I believe in you and your writing (and I understand the inner doubts of writing) ... gentle smile.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Dee,

I can't get a good scan. The photo is dark, etc. Would you be comfortable with me packaging it up good and shipping it to you? If not, I understand. It's a big responsibility.

Hugs!

Hey UM,

Every time I walk by my flower garden I think of you :]

How is the writing going? Any new chapters? Any new adventures? Summer is such an exciting time to write. I have been having a "pity party" of late because I will be without computer connection ... and electricity for most of the summer.

This morning I had an epiphany…I don’t need a computer to write…I just need a pen and a pad of paper. I can be such a silly goose :]

Wishing you a most wonderful summer dear friend. You have been given a wonderful gift…the talent to tell an amazing tale…be sure to use your gift and keep writing :]

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Thank you,as always, for your belief in me and my story Dee!

As to your remodel, As I've said, the sacrifice you're making will be so worth it when the house is finished. Really, it will. And that first morning you walk into the new kitchen with the sunlight shining in and coffee brewing...oh, it is so worth it!

And yes, writing with pen and paper, while not ideal, is surely a novel idea (HA! Pun intended)

New adventures abounding for Simon and Maggie. Other characters really developing--facing their pasts and trying to learn to live with it--so much going on. Of course, with me it's bits and pieces then filling in.
Something way cool happened in chapter 5 when Magdelyn and Edward returned to The Hall. When I have it done, I'll share it with you.

I'll be going away soon, but will take my laptop with me. I'm going to be at my favorite place in the whole world (no, not the rose farm) and that should get the juices flowing.

You have an amazing summer also, sweet Dee! And take pictures, tons and tons of pictures!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I thought we had a Twilight Addicts thread going in here. Anyway..check this out..

I can do without the lipgloss, but I want some of what's doin' in that video to the left.

Sign me up!

Renee (rjmiller) I could go for some of that too, I'm not into Twilight, but man he's got a fine behind.

Just wanted to let you know we're having a bonfire over on Wendy's farm to celebrate how well we've looked after the place. Stop by for a cocktail, and Paul is making fireworks out of cow manure. Fun times for all!!

That's some serious lip action he's got goin' on. I'm just sayin'...

message 763: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) I like a man who knows what to do with lips like that. Get your mind out of there...I meant public speaking. Such nice, perfect lips are meant for public speaking. Bunch of perverts!
Are you joining us at Wendy's. you should see what we've done to-I mean with the place.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish OK, I'm heading over now....

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Ok, everyone. I'm leaving tomorrow for a weeks worth of the 3 R's: rest, relaxation and writing.

Ya'll be good and please don't forget to water my roses and my house plants!

I'm wishing you all a wonderful week :)

Not when you're going on vacation.

message 768: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Don't worry UM, Paul and I have it all under control. Your plants will be like brand new when you get back.

Wink. Wink.

message 770: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Shhh GreenDaisy....you don't know what you're talking about. UM, we have to do something about you know who. We don't destroy everything, we make it better.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I trust you all... mostly. [image error]

Tonight I'm [image error]

Tomorrow I'll be [image error]

And when I get back home to my hubby I'll be "I was a goooooood girl" [image error]

message 772: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Funny, my hubby's leaving early tomorrow to go 'fishing'. I have at least 8 kids every day and no one to come home and let me have a freaking break. He's going to regret coming home on Friday. Yes, he will. I won't be good at all.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I don't blame you for being cranky! My daughter is so excited to get to go with me and my other daughter. She will miss her 3 boys under 5 years old but she needs a break.

I'll miss you guys. *hugs*

message 774: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendyswore) UM- we just missed each other. I hope you have a wonderful vacation and I hear you tried to keep things in order for me on the farm. Thanks! things got a little weird around here. maybe we can look after the roses for you while your gone?

message 775: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Hey Wendy, I brought some new plants for UM. I kind of have a black thumb and might have accidentally gave that really big tree-like plant in the corner, some vodka instead of water. It doesn't look so good. I thought if we just gave her a bunch more new ones, she wouldn't notice.
Here's what I got, this little guy is really cool. THe guy at the farm I bought it from said we need special lights and some foil around it to make it grow faster. It takes a lot of hydro, but he said she can sell the leaves later. He said if I'm out of smokes, I can even smoke it!! Bonus.

This other one is a venus fly trap. I know it's kind of big, but it works. She's not going to have any bugs in here ruining the other plants. **heeellllp meee!** Um, yeah, I stored it in the dungeon a little too close to one of the prisoners. Don't worry, he'll be digested before UM comes back. It's a beautiful plant don't you think. Except, we have to make sure we feed him, I don't see any flies. I'm sure that guy inside will satsify this big boy for days yet.

message 776: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendyswore) I let my brother come weed-wack her yard for a couple extra bucks, he can't really tell the difference between weeds and roses, but as long as things get trimmed it's all good- right?

Also, I think she needs some fertilizers around here, so I backed the manuer spreader over here for you to play with.

message 777: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Thanks Wendy, we should just spread this shit, hehe, over the entire yard. The grass could stand to be a little greener, don't you think. We'll have to leave a walkway until it absorbs. It does absorb doesn't it, cause I've already done it.
That rose garden looks much better now, you can see the trellis, before it was covered by all those roses climbing up it. And that really poofy bush is better as a tree. Kind of asian looking now, your brother is an artist. I like the way there's like four roses at the top, none in the middle and then those random ones sticking here and there.
I think UM will like it too.
Where is your brother? He didn't try to whack the flytrap did he? Oh, I decided to name tha plant I thought Horace sounded good. Look at those little green ones multiply! We're going to need more lights.

message 778: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendyswore) Renee- you weren't supposed to dump all the poo in the yard at once. I had enough for an acre or two. Maybe we could spraypaint the poop green and she won't notice that the grass is actually a foot or two down.

And that brother was always a bother anyway, I'll just be sure to keep the other one away from the fly eater thing.

message 779: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Sorry, my bad. I'll go get the paint. What about the smell? You think she'll notice?

message 780: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendyswore) Er- air fresheners?

I dunno man, I think the best we can hope for is that the smell burns all her nose hairs off fast and fries her senses so that she can't smell it any more.

Maybe you could convince her that noseplugs are the new rage and that she should try them. (No- put the superglue away, we don't want permenant damage)

message 781: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Oh, I know! you can tell her that you guys figured out that i get to your brains through your noses. Not true, but she'll believe it. Let's find some really funky ones. we can all wear them.

message 782: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendyswore) we could glue little roses on her set so it would match her garden. She'd like that.

message 783: by Daisy (new)

Daisy | 1803 comments I'll help! *brings in a lot of air fresheners* we ca hide them and it will make it smell less

message 784: by Daisy (new)

Daisy | 1803 comments nose plugs would be a good idea though@

message 785: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Thanks GreenDaisy, nice to see you've stopped fighting the inevitable. Maybe her plugs could be rose scented!! Here's some plugs for you guys, my sense of smell is already compromised. I spent a while here in the pooh.

message 786: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendyswore) Pooh bear is here too?

That was actually a nick-name of mine when I was a baby. "Winnie the Poop" Yup, sad isn't it.

But what can you do? I was jsut doing my job: eat, sleep, poop. Do you think there are any jobs like that for adults available?

message 787: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Yep, it's called Husband. It's a good job by the looks of it.

message 788: by Daisy (new)

Daisy | 1803 comments lol

message 789: by Paul (new)

Paul I brought a new Rose for UM's garden. Actually I pinched it from Stephen King. He was burbling about it being the key to the survival of several universes, stuff about Dark Towers and gunslingers and so on, but, hey, the guy's deranged right.

Although it is strange to have a rose that sings.

By the way, I saw the mailman come but not go. There are a pair of feet sticling out of Horace, and the mail van is still here.

message 790: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Now I suppose we have to deliver the rest of the mail. It's rain, sleet, and snow, Horace not plants. Maybe we should make a sign. Give him at least twenty feet of space. Funny, he's never tried to eat us.
That rose is wonderful Paul. UM will enjoy that. Are you sure Mr. KIng won't mind?

message 791: by Paul (new)

Paul No, but the Crimson King might. If we find that UM's place is becoming the focus of dark and malevolent entities, we shall have to reconsider.

message 792: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) It might add to the ambiance of the place. Let's see if she likes the entities first. You never know.

message 793: by Daisy (new)

Daisy | 1803 comments Oh wait so you mean this place is going to be fit to be on A Haunting?

message 794: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendyswore) Well the good news is that I found some super grass seed that can endure the pile of all-natural fertilizer it has to grow on. The bad news is that it grows two feet a day. DO you think she'll notice?

message 795: by Paul (new)

Paul GreenDaisy, not A Haunting. Think "Gateway to Hell" and you're on the right lines.

message 800: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) True, hey Paul, Watch out for Horace. He's looking at you like you could be dinner. I try to control him, but he's male, what can I say?
