Wow, that must have been crazy moments for you Dawn. It's pretty wild nowadays at any city, any country. Everywhere there is danger. Every precaution is important. Thank god it was just an false alarm and that you have your kids at home safe and sound where they belong.

Thank goodness everything is ok Dawn!

In my head it is but I realise now maybe not to the rest of the world. It is in the clothing catergory though so it can't be tied rope, or zip ties or twist ties, or the act of tying. If you have some article of clothing that ties somewhere other than the neck I may consider it.

message 293: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) Wow your kids go fir the whole week! We had half days yesterday and today and now they're officially off for two weeks.

message 294: by Ezi (new)

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) | 1882 comments Hey you mommies on here,
do your daughters like the Winks Club? how do you feel?

My daughter wants the dolls, but they are way too skinny and sexy for a 5 year old girl. Why must cartoons be sooo skinny? Seriously. They are pencil legs, no waist but decent size boobs for fairies.
Opinions?

message 295: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) I had to google them Ezi. I know all about Star Wars, Pokemon, Spongebob but not girl shows lol. They are pretty sexy smexy. Unfortunately now days these kids are flooded with this kind of stuff (not to sound old cause I'm not). My son who's in 2nd grade came home the other day talking about how babies are made. I had no clue at this age if anything along these lines. It's frightening to think how it will be 10 years from now!

╰⊱♥⊱╮ღ꧁Kathy,Ahmazing Book Faerie꧂ღ╭⊱♥≺ (mamabear7080) I have no clue what day it is now, my daughter has been off school over a week now.

Skinny is the new fat ladies and sexy smexy is the new innocent..!! I agree Jenne what are things going to be like by the time our babies are having babies!!
How old is a child in second grade? we don't have the same system you do!

message 297: by Ezi (new)

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) | 1882 comments I feel bad because a lot of the friends have the dolls and
1) I don't want her to be that kid who never has stuff
2) but I don't want to give her stuff just because other people have it, when I think that item is not appropriate.
Not that fairies are just so inappropriate but you know.

message 298: by Lina (new)

Lina Not with this item specifically, but I had this dilemma with my daughter a year ago. It's a no-win situation sometimes, and they wont always thank you for it, but if it came to the choice I'd rather take the higher ground. Her life is not going to end because she doesn't have the exact same doll that all her friends have, which will be replaced by the next hot thing in 6 months time. And if nothing else, it's character building for kids to go without every once in a while. Good luck with it, Ezi! Parenting is full of little choices that are building the road of their character, and it's mainly the good parents who question their decisions. You worry because you care.

My 10 year old watches them. She hasn't asked for the dolls yet. (she wants mermaid dolls) But when she was 5 bratz were all the rage and we flat out banned them no bratz at all. Thier heads were too big and clothes too small to be any kind of roll model.

ETA: I agree with everything CaroB said. And to add to my prvs statement I may have once felt guilty about not getting the "bratz" doll and splurged to get her 2 regular barbies.

And as I mentioned my daughter does watch, which means I only get bits and pieces because I am usually in the room on the computer or reading. The winx seem to be more socially and planet minded in thier expeditions than the bratz ever were. The may still dress a bit to risky for a 5 year old but I think with the explanation that this is not how normal people dress, the might be ok for a 5 year old.
