Introductions!

I believe in the power of love and in the power of books. Put the two together and, bam, it's magic. :)
Don't worry, I promise not..."
Hey Dany! Welcome. :)

My novella, "Bane of Her Desire", (erotic romance, (paranormal, suspense) was just released from Loose Id. Set in Africa with lion and hyena shifters.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in English, and attended grad school for a few years with a concentration in Literature. The only serious writing I have done was for NaNo in 2010? But I mostly create art nowadays. Still, it's nice to be here and maybe find quality literature to read!

Since reading The Twilight Saga, I have also read The Host and am currently reading Graceling . I'm very excited to discover new books!

I'm Sam and I love paranormal romance. Most of my GR friends read contemporary romance so I wanted to join a group full of paranormal lovers. Sometime I need to fangirl over a series, and I need friends that will can relate to my love of the paranormal.
JR Ward was my first intro to paranormal romance. I just fell in love with Kresley Cole's IAD series and I am eating it up!! Love Cade!!!

I also like Catherine Kittredge's Black London series, but her books are too short and after book 4 I no longer felt like paying $7.99 for them -___-. Oh well, someday....
I'm fairly new to the PNR side of the equation and I would like to read some of the better series there, so I'll be skimming the boards for recommendations.
Nice to be here and happy reading:)

I'm continually looking for books within my budget. School Bus Drivers don't make a lot. I have found several indie authors that I loved to read. They are Colleen Vanderlinden: Hidden Series, Erin Manbecki: The Gifted Trilogy, C.M. Owens: Deadly Beauties, The Cursed, and many more trilogies. Try these out. Let me know what you think. I have more that I could give you to look at. Happy Reading!!!

I write and read alot, but I also like to have fun and eat.
I have a whole bunch of stories I'v written on a different site.

My popular story right now is: Angels, Devils, and Inbetweeners

Relationships, their growth and/or disintegration and their complexity, are perhaps the most important things in reading for me. Looking forward to finding more to read through this group.

Soul Mate is super affordable their full length novels range from 2.99 to 3.99 in e.
As a reader I love Kresley Cole's IAD, Larissa Ione's Demonica and when I see DH written in an email I read Dark Hunter, as in Sherrilyn Kenyon's series, not Dear Husband.*g*
In TV I love Teen Wolf, Supernatural, Sleepy Hollow and Person of Interest (for example):-)
The last book I read was Reaver by Larissa Ione. I'm looking forward to Revanant in December!
Here's my amazon author page if you want to take a look.

I'm a huge urban fantasy and paranormal romance fan - both adult & YA. My Goodreads bookshelf has only a partial list of the books I've read over the last several years.
I've binge read my way through J.R. Ward, Charlaine Harris, Kerrelyn Sparks, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Laurell K. Hamilton, Chloe Neill, Cassandra Clare, Lauren Kate, P.C. Cast, to name some - many in paperback, so you can imagine what my bookshelves look like at home :-) I think I kept my local Barnes & Noble in business for about a year. I'm waiting for the trade paperback of J.R. Ward's book THE KING to arrive this month in the mail... That said, my Kindle has a nice selection of books too.
Anyway, that's me as a reader. As a writer, you can find the first book in my Urban Fantasy / Paranormal Romance series, TRINITY STONES, right here on Goodreads :-)
Thanks! Glad to be a member of this group...

U R so welcomed. It's a great place to chat about books and making friends. I encourage anyone to invite me as a friend. Word of mouth goes a long way.

I love all sorts of fiction, but lean heavily toward fantasy. My latest favorites are the "Daughter of Smoke & Bone" series by Laini Taylor, and the "Under the Never Sky" series by Veronica Rossi.
Looking forward to seeing what others are reading and talking about.

Hi Susan! I am in the process of reading the "Daughter of Smoke and Bone" series myself. LOVE it!

I love all kinds of speculative fiction, from high fantasy to light sci-fi, but my favourite genre is definitely urban fantasy. I've loved it since I was a teenager, when I didn't know what it was called. (I described it as "books set in the real world but with supernatural elements" - which is one of many reasons I shouldn't be allowed to name things.) This was back when I was reading "Interview With a Vampire" by Anne Rice and the "Diana Tregarde" series by Mercedes Lackey (yes, I'm old). I love the way the genre has exploded over the past decade or so.
I live in Australia, where I work as a full-time editor (not in publishing, though; I edit boring technical documents). I'm also a novelist.
I don't watch much TV these days. Being a single mum means I don't have much spare time. My favourite shows are "Doctor Who" and "Castle" (because Nathan Fillion).
Thanks! :)

My name is Ashleigh, and I'm from Dallas, Texas, and currently living in Oklahoma City. I actually did not like reading when I was in grade school. but now, I crave a good book! Anything with witches, vampires, fearies, elves, lycans, ect. is a great book for me. I'm currently waiting on Nina Bangs new upcoming book in the Castle of Dark Dreams series.
I'm currently not working but, am getting ready for my first baby! :) Due date is December 14. SO, having a good book is necessary to me! :)
I hope to get to know you guys! (well, most) lol

Nice to meet you, Ashleigh

Thank you very much. Sorry I didn't reply sooner; I was more or less offline for a week due to some surgery.

I'm Shannon and I am a senior editor at Loose Id and an author. I'm currently releasing an UF/PNR serial on Amazon that is part of a much larger story. I'm a mom of two great boys, one of which started college last year when he turned 15, and I am a lover of all things fangy--werewolves, vampires, rabid chipmunks. I'm looking forward to being part of a community of paranormal and fantasy lovers.

My favorite authors include Jeanine Frost, Ilona Andrews, Molly Harper and Rachel Vincent.
I'm currently reading Dianne Duvall's latest. So far, love it!
Night Unbound

Stumbled upon this group and thought I'd drop in, say hi, and join the conversation :-D

Welcome Kat ... we are a lively bunch .. hope you enjoy!

My name is Brent and I love to read and write. My first novel was Blue Swords by Robin McKinley which was fantasy and that pretty much has stayed consistent. Though I switched to Romance novels specifically because I am almost guarenteed a happy ending. I prefer avoiding 'tragedy' in life, let alone seeking it as 'entertainment'.
I hope to be published at some point but have a couple blocks that I am going through at this time.
I love the Twilight series of books Twilight, Vampire Diaries, Morganville Vampires, et cetera. I disfavor reading people trying to tear down Twilight, or any other book, in order to 'build up' whatever novel they favor more. I am of the belief that two or three candles {favorite books} provides more illumination than one.
Yesterday I finished reading the second book of the Morganville Vampires but I am vexed with whether to continue reading or not. I am uncertain whether the author will 'turn' the protagonist.
I enjoy science fiction and steampunk as well. I loved the first two books to "Infernal Devices" and the entire "Touched by an Alien" series by Gina. I loved Ender's Game but I am a bit weird and wished there was an actual romance between Ender and the sister. I am an only child so I have little idea where this interest came from... Well for Ender's Game, it came from a lack of any romance.
Thank you for sharing your Force; And may the Goddess bless you.

I love urban fantasy and created a podcast for it I love it so much! Larissa Ione and Laurall K Hamilton are my favorite authors. Anita Blake helped me get through my book. (If I spelled her name wrong it's because it's late and I'm toasted).
I live in NJ and I'm 42. I'm not sure what else to say except I love reading your posts. :)

I'm an author, huge reader and a new mum. I don't get a lot of time to get on Goodreads now, but I'll try to do this more often since this group looks amazingly awesome!

I'm 26 and I live in a small town in Virginia
I have 2 cats and 2 dogs and they're all pretty awesome
I've loved reading since I was a kid. I took a break from it in my later teen and early adult years but got back into it a couple of years ago.
My all-time favorite genre is mystery with romance coming in at a close second.
My favorite shows are CSI, Criminal Minds, NCIS, Chicago Fire, Chicago PD...anything along those lines
My favorite movies are those by Tim Burton and anything involving Johnny Depp
My favorite colors are black, blue and purple
My favorite season is summer. I love the warm weather, flip flops, cookouts...everything the season is about
My mood decides whether I'm reading a book in print or on my eReader
I look forward to connecting with everyone and chatting about out awesome reads!

Now, my favorite authors are Kim Harrison, JR Ward, and Darynda Jones. I am also heavily influenced by Stephen King who is the author who got me into reading in the first place.
Being a huge horror fan influences my movie and TV tastes, as well. Exorcist is my all time favorite movie and I'm a huge Walking Dead and Supernatural fan, amongst many others.
I'm excited to share stories and opinions with you all. See you in the threads...
Dina

I've been reading SF and fantasy since I was a kid; favorite authors include Alfred Bester, Barry N. Malzberg (a friend of mine), Philip K. Dick and Theodore Sturgeon.
In recent years, after having worked for a time in the world of publishing, and later becoming an attorney, I've been drawn back to the SF/fantasy field. I even wrote a novel and published it at Amazon Kindle - a young adult vampire novel (so much for breaking new ground!). I don't have as much time to read as I'd like, and even less time to write, but I'm trying to keep up, and if anyone posts about a work of fiction that's more than a couple of decades old, chances are that I've read it already!
I hope to be able to contribute.

Don't worry, I promise not to spam the group. I'm here mostly to learn what readers like and don't like.
