I just finished Pleasure Unbound myself. It wasn't my total favorite of all time, but it kept my attention. :) You might try Kresley Cole's Immortal After Dark series too. When I initially read it, I downloaded the first short novella, introduction to the series (The Warlord Wants Forever - I believe) for free and the great thing was that she had an excerpt for each of the next six or so in the series at the end of it. I think that it what hooked me. Great series, lots of heat.

Lorelle (lozza2407) Howdy All

Im Lorelle, and I'm from Brisbane , Australia. I have only recently progressed to "big girl" adult paranormal and urban fantasy from YA ( Mortal Instruments etc ). It was only from finding goodreads that I realised I could find so many other books that would interest me, for my age group!! ( Im 37) . So now I have like 300 books on my to read list, and I average about 1 book every 2 days , and started my reading obsession about 4 months ago. My favourite series to date are Kate Daniels, On the Edge, Charley Davidson, Mercedes Thompson and Women of the Otherworld ( up to 6), oh and Anita Blake ( I know..but Im only up to 5..). Other series that Ive started but that are taking more of a backseat are , The Hollows, Fever, Dark Swan, Immortals After Dark, BDB, Georgina Kincaid and probably about 10 others lol.

Id love to follow more people and feel free to follow my reviews!
Im definately more of a shapeshifter kind of girl more than Vampire!

Happy Reading!

Amanda (amanda0709) | 5 comments Hi I'm Amanda. Kinda new to goodreads, at least this is the first time I'm really using the groups. I think I've read almost all the vampire books I can get my hands on and I was needing to find some new material. This looks like a great group to learn about new stuff!

message 1255: by Jax (new)

Jax Garren (jaxg) | 1 comments Hi! I'm Jax, and I've had an account on Goodreads for awhile, but am only now getting active. I'm a para/UF since back in high school when I plowed through Anne Rice's vampire series. My current favorite authors are Kresley Cole and Kim Harrison. I'm an ex-high school teacher and currently write for Carina Press. I look forward to finding new authors to try here on Goodreads!

Carol Atta (princesswarriorcarol) | 8 comments Hello everyone! I'm excited to have found this group. It's right up my reading alley. Hum ... series I've enjoyed. Karen Moning's Fae Fever books, Charlaine Harris' Southern Vampire series, and the Dark Hunters by Sherriyln Kenyon are a few. Believe me there are so many more. I'm also an author who started more in the inspirational category and have now penned my own paranormal romance, I Kissed a Dog, book one in the Werewolves of the West series. I would write more if I could just stop reading so much!

message 1257: by Anna (new)

Anna Zaires | 8 comments Hi Everyone! My name is Anna Zaires, and I've loved Paranormal Romance forever. With Karen Marie Moning's Fever series, I also fell in love with Urban Fantasy. I liked vampires long before they were "cool" - Bram Stoker's Dracula movie was awesome! I also like Sci Fi Romance, and I've recently published a book in this genre. It's actually a combo of sci fi (alien angle) and UF (takes place in NYC). Oh, and it's a very steamy romance :).

Close Liaisons (The Krinar Chronicles Volume I) by Anna Zaires

I'm excited to join the group!

message 1258: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn Knight | 58 comments Hi everyone, I'm Kathryn Knight, an avid reader of many different genres, although romance with paranormal elements is my favorite. I'm also a published author, my paranormal romance involves a human hero and heroine dealing with a ghost, so no vampires in Silver Lake, lol. But I loved Twilight, The Outlander series and Hush, Hush were also favorites, as well as many of Judith McNaught's historical romances.

Kdlyn22 | 7 comments Hello fellow readers! I'm Katie and I've recently joined the neighborhood, so I thought I'd introduce myself and hopefully check back from time to time to see what the word is on new reads (when I can remember). I work full-time as a quality assurance auditor and also go to school full-time, so I spend the remainder of my -2 hours of the day reading and relaxing. Looking forward to chatting with you all!

Belinda Garcia (belindavasquezgarcia) | 22 comments Hi! I'm Belinda. I have a degree in math and used to be a software engineer and web developer. I do still work on my own website.

I gave up computer programming for writing fiction, something I'd been doing for years as a hobby. I particularly like witches and am a sucker for love stories.

My book, The Witch Narratives Reincarnation is the first of a five-book series. (Sorry, not trying to self-promote, just giving info about myself.)

I live in the Southwest and my books reflect that.

I have a cat named Shakespeare and a dog named Toby. I, also, live part-time in Florida.

I, also, love a historical settings in book and urban fantasy.

I'm crazy about magical fiction!

It great to see a lot of like minds here. I am a 40 something' year old fantasy & paranormal avid reader.

Besides the Twilight series, I have decided to go back and read the Lord of the Rings series starting with The Hobbit. What an adventure and a great ride.

For five years now, I have been travelling back and forth to Africa, volunteering my services and raising funds for childrens' education and medical care... oh long story but loving every part of it. My trips all over Africa have inspired me to join the esteem group of fantasy & paranormal authors and have just recently published mine too... a unique setting... Bela-bela, South Africa.

Anyhow, I look forward to sharing this space with you all; as we explore the spookie world of fantasy, paranormal and whatever this journey brings us.

Michelle (quill_n_ink) | 107 comments Hello, TDF! I'm also from Texas and have recently rediscovered my love of reading. I've always loved classic horror films and some of the current films. When I (finally) discovered Twilight, my love of reading and PN/PNR movies merged and I was hooked! I have a lot of catching up to do so I've joined a few groups here on GR to get some recommendations. So glad I found yours!

BTW, thanks to Twitter and a mutual admiration of FSoG, I met an Indie Author who is currently writing her first PNR series. I am now her first reader/editor and I'm loving it! I'll post about her and her books in an appropriate thread.

Most of them free or under $5. But after joining this group I see there are plenty of new series I'll have to add to my growing to read list. I also read romance novels here and there.

E.J. Mellow | 15 comments Hello you wonderful people you!
My name is Jacqueline and I'm obsessed with this genre like the rest of you:)I live in NYC so the urban fantasy feels a tad real at times, or I only hope it could be.

Super excited to join the group and have you all help me add to my ever growing list of "must reads".

message 1281: by Heather (new)

Heather Bowhay | 17 comments Hi! I'm Heather from Bellingham, WA. Love, love, love urban fantasy first, paranormal second, and still have a place in my heart for all the classics. Teacher during the day, sports mom taxi service in the afternoon, chef to two teenagers and a husband in the evening, and a writer of book #3 of a YA urban fantasy series during the twilight hours! :)

Excited to join the group and hear what the newest and hottest books are being recommended so I can add them to my rather lengthy list of must reads.

Michelle | 3 comments Hello, I am Michelle Brough. I am mom of 4. My eldest graduated highschool last year and is now in college. Next is a sophomore in highschool. And next is in the 7th grade. My youngest is in 5th grade. They all love to read especially child 2. She reads all the time. We now have another thing to talk about, BOOKS!! I am a renewed reader. In highschool I loved to read thanks to American Lit and then after just stopped. By way of the kindle I have a new obsession, READING!! In the last few months I have read everything from romance to paranormal to mystery. I love the Brotherhood series, Scanguards series, Argeneau series and many other books. I try to only read a few at a time but, when searching I cannot help myself. I think that I must have over a hundred books on the "to read" pile. I do not remember books being this good when I was younger, but apparently I was busy doing other things.
I am interested in all kinds of books and like ot read about a variety of subjects except, non-fiction. I really do see the purpose of reading about real life I get enough of that daily. To me reading is an outlet from life to which I escape when I am reading. I look forward to relating to others that share a passion for books and reading.
***Michelle***

Abbi Saxby | 8 comments Hi! My name is Abbi, I'm married and have two boys. I'm from the UK. I have always loved to read, I also liked to write as a child but haven't written anything for a long time.

I discovered paranormal romances when I got myself an e-reader last summer. I went through and downloaded as many free books as I could and was amazed at some of the gems that I found. I've since spent a fortune thanks to my desire to find out "what happens next".

message 1284: by James (new)

James Christie Well, my name is James Christie, and I'm trying not to fall foul of Pam the Moderatrix (Dominatrix?) by promoting my own (published) novel, but the problem is this:

The story, although partly fictional and surreal (I didn't have a real, living vampire flatmate but I did have that rare connection with a character some authors sometimes get) is less the book I wrote than the life I lived, and like Jody's grandfather in Steinbeck's "Red Pony" I can't stop thinking about it.

So although I respect the rules it's rather difficult to avoid thinking about my memories, which you can share in my book, which I now tend to consider as something as a surrogate for my experiences.

I'm here because the character I got the connection with was Drusilla from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", and despite having Asperger Syndrome's lack of empathy, I somehow managed to write her well enough to impress Juliet Landau (who portrayed her on "Buffy"), that Juliet and I somehow got into an email correspondence and that I then crossed America on Greyhound buses at the age of forty-five to meet my dear Miss Landau one Sunday morning in March 2010 on a boulevard west of Sunset.

Rain Man met Notting Hill via 84 Charing Cross Road, I sometimes say.

That's what I did, and it was a once-in-a-lifetime combination of chance and circumstance you'll never see again, but you can read about it.

It's called "Dear Miss Landau" and published by Chaplin Books, but there are many parts to the story yet untold, and I'd like to talk about them.

P.S. Now forty-eight and resident in Glasgow - Scotland, not Montana. Single!

Robyn Jones (robgirlbooks) | 18 comments Hello, I'm Robyn Jones. I'm a geek when it comes to paranomral romance and urban fantasy. You start me talking books and I can't quit. I love the emotionless Psy and the evil Morganville vamps. I love hoping for Richelle Mead's heroines who are always relationship disasters. I love finding new authors that turn me into an author website stalker. This love affair translates to my own writing. I can see where Patricia Brigg's Mercy Thompson has affected how I shape my own strong female characters. If you have any much loved books you want to recommend, please do.

message 1286: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 5 comments Heya, I'm Jenny and I've been a member of goodreads for close to a month now I think. I'm a big fan of paranormal romance. Became a fan when I read a short story by Sherrilyn Kenyon when I was in high school, and have since expanded my library with as many paranormal romance books I can get.

Annedroid4000 (bibliophileanne) | 1 comments Hi Anne here! Been crazy about books since teenage years. That was a loooong time ago! Now I am addicted to the PNR/UF genre to the point that I started following my favorite authors in their twitters.. Got a few mentions last week and I'm happy! I've read a lot of series but just reading through the post and my TBR pile just increased exponentially. Keep on reading!

Abigail (anagrom) | 4 comments Hey, I'm Abigail and I've been a goodreads member for about a year or so. Thought I'd try to use the groups for the first time. I'm a big vampire fan (to my shame I have read Twilight series) Anne Rice, Laurell K. Hamilton and Sherrilyn Kenyon are some of my favorites for PNR but just can't get enough of JD Robb's 'In Death' books for UF.

Hi. I'm an avid paranormal romance reader and I also write paranormal romance, erotica and horror. Inspired by Gena Showalter and Kresley Cole. I had my first story published in an anthology last December and had my first stand alone novella's published in October. I am building up to a full length novel but it takes so much time and unfortuntely I have a busy full time job. Looking to chat about my fav books, find new reads and see what people are wanting/hating to hopefully improve my writing. XX

♦Jennifer♦ (thejenneral) | 15 comments Hi everybody, I not sure that many people read this stuff, but I figured I'd give a short introduction.

The name's Jen, I'm a 23 year old FCSN in the US Navy. Basically I work on/maintain computers that run radars on ships.

As Far as reading goes.. I used to do it allll the time, like I would forgo eating just to finish a chapter, but with the job and what not, my reading time has been greatly diminished. I still do get it in though... Right now I've been slowly finishing A Dance With Dragons (A Song of Ice and Fire, #5) by George R.R. Martin . So fantasy is a big love of mine, but probably the type of books that really get me going are anything to do with the Paranormal, so I figure that this is probably the group for me. :)

Any-who I look forward to getting to know you like minded folk.

I live in Paris in France, I discovered UF and PNR when I was an exchange student in Sydney. My favourite genres are PNR and UF but from time to time I like a good contemporary romance.
I generally like any book that contains a magical twist, characters with pointy teeth, or a monthly hair growth issue...
