Introductions!

Anyway I am also an avid reader like most in here and have been reading tons of books since I was a kid. I believe my mother started the addiction since she always has her nose stuck in one as well as I have. It is hard to say who is my favorite author but my idol is Anne Rice and I believe that my books - especially the latest - are inspired by hers. Right now I am re-reading some of her books and just finished The Witching Hour.
Well that was just a few words about me.
Take care,
Willow

I'm new to the group and look forward to chatting about some of my favorite books with you all.
My name is Jimel and like you, I LOVE paranormal romance/thrillers. Some of my favorite authors:
Laurell K. Hamilton
Kim Harrison
Charlaine Harris
Keri Arthur
J.R. Ward
Sherrilyn Kenyon
Christine Feehan
Nalini Singh
When I'm not reading, I'm usually either working my "day job" (with one of the largest online retailers in the world..hint, hint) and writing my own debut novel that I hope to release in digital format at the end of next month.
Reading and writing - behind my daughter - are some of my favorite things!

Hi everyone,
I just joint the group. I LOVE reading, especially paranormal romance, YA books and fantasy. I'm a self published author (YA urban fantasy) and complete book junkie. I'm looking forward to talking with you more and hopefully making some new goodreads friends :)

I'm Marne Ann and it's nice to meet you. I've been reading romance since the early eighties, from historicals to UF / paranormal, and everything in between. Fantasy and Paranormal are my weaknesses, though. It's fascinating how the genre has changed over the years, and I definitely like the stronger heroines of today...
My favorite authors :
Sherrilyn Kenyon
Christine Feehan
Kresley Cole
I enjoyed JR Ward until she took tortured hero into a very dark place and made me feel icky.
I have seven lil monsters, but sadly, they are almost all grown and creating their own fairy tales in life. I'm happily married, and we have an unruly collection of Schitzu (sp) puppies and a lab who thinks she's one.
I'm an author when I'm not reading, parenting, or herding dogs. I write paranormal romance and fantasy romance...but you can find out more about that from my profile thing. I've been a lurker here for too long and plan to participate more...I'm home -bound now, as my youngest monster had surgery and is laid up for at least the next month, so I'm hoping to learn how to navigate goodreads.

I have been shy of posting anything because I hate the idea that people think I am on line just to promote my books.
My first book was "Lad a Dog." Anyone remeber that book? I sooo wanted that dog! 4th grade. Natalie I read Wrinkle in Time, too! Reading opened worlds and changed my life. I left home at 15 for good reasons - and I think I got through my childhood by disappearing into a book.
I got to teenagehood and hormones and discovered sexy books - nothing like is availble today mind you! Shesh. Kids these days know everything.
I just finished 50 shades of Grey and wrote a review on it if anyone is interested. As a mental health professional I have a completely different take on that book.
All for now, nice to meet you guys....

I am an award winning popular indie horror writer, though I have written a non-horror gay m/m novella recently and discovered I really liked writing it, so I'm doing a sequel! I'm big into gay rights, including marriage equality for gay people.
I am 39. I have no kids and one very spoiled black shelter kitty named Kiki. Let's just put it this way: I'm vegan yet I buy her free range organic chicken so she may eat it raw every night. So gross for me. She's worth it though!
Boy, that was eclectic.

Call me Fallen, it's along story... I'm book whore and proud of it. Loves me some paranormal romance and urban fantasy. I'm new to goodreads and looking for friends so if you send me a request it will be approved. I'm also a very timid writer but I've never published or posted anything for review. Becoming a member of this group will hopefully build my courage enough to leak a short story or something. I'll be looking for honest criticism ;D

I absolutely love reading and writing. Some of my favorites are The Hunger Games, anything by Stephen King, the Harry Potter series (yeah, yeah...I love Harry Potter), and so many more.
I'm also new to writing. I recently self-published my first novel, and it has been a trip. I look forward to meeting new people here, and finding new and awesome books to add to my reading list.

I love Kim Harrison. I need to finish reading the series. I was in the middle of book 6 before I lost it and have yet to pick it up again.

My name is Pamela but you can call me Pammie. I am 26 as of July and am disabled due to Bipolar Disorder and severe neck and back issues. I spend a lot of time at home, reading or on the computer. I have recently been reading a lot of YA books in the paranormal/paranormal romance genre but I always go back to paranormal romance and most specifically Urban Fantasy which is my favorite genre. One of my favorite Urban Fantasy authors is Jennifer Estep and I just recently got my hands on her Bigtime Superhero series (through kindle purchase), have all the Elemental Assassin books, and am now working on the Mythos Academy books. I just love her writing. One of my favorite series is probably Georgina Kincaid/Succubus Series by Richelle Mead and I am thinking about starting the Dark Swan series soon.
I am also a comic book lover - I am very into X-men, and most largely Fables and Jack of Fables. I have also recently gotten several issues of the more horror oriented Locke & Key, The Walking Dead, and the first issue of a newer series called Unwritten. As far as tv shows with paranormal twists, I am a huge fan of Buffy, Angel, Supernatural (darker I know), The vampire Diaries, etc. I also love fairy tale retellings and watch both of the current fairy tale shows (Grimm and Once Upon a Time). I love fairy tale related books as well. I have a whole book shelf with five shelves as that are my To Be Read (TBR) books. And yes it is forever growing.
-Pammie

Hi. I'm Sam and I love Urban Fantasy and have a strange love-hate relationship with Paranormal Romance.

I enjoy reading and I have recently fell in love with the Paranormal Romance genre, I don't discriminate I read anything that I can get my hand on. I am married and have no children; hence all of the reading that I love to do. I'm currently reading Full Moon Rising

I'm Chelsay and Im 29 and I live in Christchurch, New Zealand, I am a qualified makeup artist but I'm currently back in college finishing my commerce degree. I love paranormal romance, not too keen on urban fantasy (maybe I just haven't read the right book yet), I've been reading alot over these past couple of years, its a cheap hobby (one I can afford to maintain whilst being broke again!) and because the recent earthquakes destroyed most of our social scene here, its a way for me to escape and feel a little more normal.
Hope to talk with you all soon :)

Wow, I've been a member since 2008. Mostly lurking. Can't believe it's been so long ago. The paranormal romance genre has grown so much and I'm thankful for that. I love reading and writing them.

My name is Maggie and I live in New Jersey. I'm popping on here at work so this is going to be real brief. I have 3 grown children, 8 grandchildren. I love art, music, and reading (in no particular order). I'm not much of a talker but I thought I might pop in from time to time to discuss a book or two or to see what everyone else is reading.
See ya on the boards!

My name is Susie, I am 28 and I LOVE Urban Fantasy. I am an avid reader and have around 30 series that I follow in the genre and a few I keep an eye on in the off chance I have nothing better to read lol.
I also read plenty of other kinds of books, from regular fiction to medium (as opposed to high) fantasy. Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones is about as much as I can take in true fantasy. It also seems that SteamPunk is growing on me so I may be reading more of that.
A little more about me: I have been happily married for over 11 years to a giant (I mean huge as in 6 foot 4 inches tall and 300 pounds) IT nerd. I also have two kids. A beautiful little girl or rather pre-teen who is nearly 12 and a middle schooler this year (heaven help me!) and a son, age 9, who is too smart for his own good and suffers severely from AD/HD and OCD. Needless to say my little family keeps be hoppin', but I always find a good escape into some amazing books.
This year has been exciting for me. In June I finished my Bachelor's degree in Communication and Cultures and then after almost 4 years of work, I launched my debut Urban Fantasy Novel, MUSE. (Don't worry, I promise to be as active in this group as I can and not do "too much" self-promoting.
Launching my book has been exciting and I am happy to answer any questions you may have about it or about writing and publishing. I am always looking for people willing to receive a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
All that being said, I am excited to be a part of this group. I probably would have joined a lot sooner, but between school and the book, and family, I didn't have much time for anything else. Things have calmed down though now and I have much more time to pursue my passions. I look forward to getting to know you all, connecting with those passionate about the same things I am and adding some new amazing books to my "read" list.
Thanks!!

My name is Misti. I am 24 and have been reading non-stop since always ;) I just found out about GoodReads. I wanted to join so I could get recommendations by other people. Seems like I'm in a slump every now and then.
Favorite type of book by far is Urban Fantasy. Although I do admit getting really worn out by all the vampires lately. Favorite series by far is the Fever Series by Karen Marie Moning. Current love is Jennifer Armentrout.
Thanks!

My degree is in English Lit/History but I am a former classical singer who's been writing for about 10 years as a hobby, and seriously for the past year. I am the author of For the Love of a God, Sweet Hell, Up In Flames and The Selkie.
I look forward to chatting with you all at some point, and hope we will get to know each other well.
Cheers!

Hi Ashley! Stick with it- you never know when that novel will come pouring out!
Hi all,
My names Liz alias Tarian, I spent years working full time for the local education authority, bringing up my two sons as a single parent and studying for a degree in education.
I have always loved reading and love nothing more than a good story written down or verbal. when my children were little I enjoyed reading all the classics, The Hobit, CS Lewis, etc.and then progressed on to Northen Lights (Dark Materials trilogy). Whilst working with young children with behavioural issues, I used to draw dragons and make up stories together. It meant they could escape for awhile from their often very difficult lives.
I really enjoy history, myths and legends. I like walking on Dartmoor, body boarding and generally interacting with the wild side of nature.
A year ago I was made redundant and since then have been writing for kindle. My first book was realism. By the second I was writing about ghosts, third ghosts and magic powers (I have always enjoyed super powers) and my latest not yet published has everything.
Really, I am just re-living my childhood playing those imaginary games in the playground. Children are so creative.
It's lovely to meet so many like minded people.
Kind regards to you all.

I love PNF and UF. I also like classics. When I get really into a book/series it's almost impossible to lay the book down, and I love it! I'm always looking for the next book to get me hooked. I also live in a small European country where like minded people are far and few,so I'm really looking forward to joining in here!
At the moment I'm looking for some new good series to dive into.
Nice to meet you all :)
