Hey guys! My name's Erin. I'm new to the genre and look forward to making some new buddies!!

"Of course, you realize this means war! Help me win a bet with my husband. I've got a prime rib dinner in the wings if I win. And well, we all know what my husband wins if I don't; )
I'm trying to reach 1,000 hits and 10 new flags from other countries on my website http://bloodandmatzah.com and 25 legitimate posts on my blog http://blogandmatzah.com by May 31.
Mama needs a fancy dinner at The Outback! Thanks in advance for your support. Send me a link to your site/blog and I'll return the favor.
Happy reading/writing to all my new indie author friends!"

I am Rebecca and fairly new to messaging on Goodreads. I love this genre, both reading and writing about it. :-)
I am currently trying out new Kindle books in this genre like Lauren Burd and Amanda Hocking but also like Rachel Caine books, LJ Smith....

I'm Cege. I don't think I've met a vampire I didn't like (good, bad, gory, horror, sparkly, it doesn't matter!). Stephen King and Dean Koontz were huge influences on my reading early on, and I pretty much devoured anything paranormal I could get my hands on.
I branched out as I got older, but when push comes to shove, I'll pick up a book with a vampire or witch in it before any kind of melodramatic, tug-at-your-heart strings, sweeping literary epic. (Although Scarlett will always have a special place in my heart.) I am addicted to B-rated horror movies, although I have to admit that I don't go for the gore the way that I used to.
I go in these weird swings with my reading- I won't read anything for a month or two and then go on a binge and read 5 books over the course of a week. It's like my brain sometimes doesn't have a setting between crawl and overdrive. I was excited to find this group though because the book market out there can be kind of overwhelming. It's cool to be able to find someplace to hang, chat, and get some good book recommendations in my favorite genre.
I've also published some books (all with a paranormal bent of course) and I'll accept all friend requests that come my way. Looking forward to chatting with you!

If you guys don't see a good book to start, just ask you'll get lots of recommendations.

If you guys don't see a good book to..."
I wholeheartedly agree. I'm truly enjoying my time on goodreads and all those I have met.

Like many others my fascination with book crazes in general and more specifically the non-stop media attention given to Fifty Shades made me go outside my norm of historic fiction and check out this romance arena.
I am loving all the suggestions here and look forward to some great conversations.

Ten days, over 1,000 web hits, 25 blog posts (by the skin of my teeth) and 6 foreign flags. Many huge thanks to all of my new friends and friends I have not yet met who visited my site and told a friend from outside the USA to take a gander onto my site http://bloodandmatzah.com/
You guys rock!
Unfortunately, I was four flags short so I didn't win the bet with my husband. Looks like Mickey D's instead of prime rib at The Outback. : (

I am looking forward to communicating with other readers and writers :)

Just thought I'd pop by and say hi!
I joined the group to get new books for my TBR-pile (that definitely doesn't NEED growing, but,... it's hard to stop...! ;) and since I've already posted a few tips of my own, I thought I'd better be polite and say an official hello, too! :)

I like Paranormal, Paranormal Romance, Young Adult, Mystery/Thriller, Apocalyptic time books.

I just finished Reading Angelfall and I LOVED it. Just started Out Of The Dark a book Ive been waiting for a long time to come out. Its really good so far.

My name is Elle. I've went of a bit of a treasure hunt of groups tonight and found this one!
I'm 23 and I absolutely love to read but time is just too hard to find when you are studying so I don't read as much as some!
Hope everyone is well :)

I've had a love of paranormal since my early teens and branched out into horror shortly thereafter. I was in my twenties before I discovered fantasy and sci-fi and then stumbled upon my first urban fantasy a few years ago. I'll read pretty well anything at least once.
I fancy myself a writer, although I've barely had anything published. My hobbies, outside of reading and writing, involve ball-joint dolls, cosplay and World of Warcraft. I obsessively read twitter and keep a randomly updated blog about books and writing and sometimes rambles about the games I play or little stories about my life that keep cropping up in my head. I'm pretty active every year with NaNoWriMo and I'm one of the Municipal Liaisons for Columbus.
I have grand hopes of one day finishing a novel, editing it and having it published. I'm also terrible at writing about myself. XD I'll try to be around more and get to know all of you.

I hesitate to call what I write outright romance, as I don't believe in many if not most of the romance tropes.
Happy to be here!

I'm so happy to Goodreads... I like participating in discussions and making new friends here....
It feels good to be here!! :)

Yes, I am definitely looking forward to it. I've read a few books lately within the genre but really got hooked on Dead Beautiful. Found it really good. :-)
After the ending....wondering where the next book leads...

I am long time reader of more traditional fantasy - it was an interesting transition to Urban Fantasy - wasn't expecting the amount of sex that was in the books. There is little or none in Fantasy I was reading.
On another note - is there a list of the acronyms - after seeing a load already & have NO IDEA what they are referring to.

I started off loving paranormal romance (authors like Nalini Singh and J.R. Ward) and then moved on to urban fantasy (Charlaine Harris).
I come from a family of bookworms and a good part of that can be blamed on the fact that we spent most of our childhood without a television.
I have a young family, and unfortunately don't get as much time to read as I'd like! There are so many great series out there...

Being an Indie Author is a lot of fun, but not as much fun as my kids - I have an 8yr old daughter, who I homeschool...and she has a little brother who is 3, and was just diagnosed with highly functioning Autism. They both keep me on my toes, as do our pets - our lovable but neurotic dog is a main character in my book!
I live in San Diego - was born and mostly raised here...so we love going to the beach and generally being outside. We go thru a lot of sunscreen. lol I like to garden too, when I'm not reading or writing, or playing, or teaching, or cleaning.
I was referred to this site AFTER publishing my book but I wish I had found it before, this place is pretty cool! :)
Hope to get to know some of you!! :)~
