Hello, I'm Emma. I've been reading paranormal for what feels like forever, recent favs include Laurell Hamilton, Sookie Stackhouse, Gail Carriger, Kady Cross, and Sherrilyn Kenyon. Since I discovered e-books, I've been reading more than ever and I'm always up for recommendations. I hope it's okay to mention here that I'm also a writer and I have a book, "Incarnation" coming from Simon and Schuster in Sept. Now that it's finished, I have much more time to read so I'm planning to wallow!

All thoughts and ideas are welcome!I add tons of books to my tbr list weekly and hope to get to all of them eventually.
Have a great day!
Hi. I'm Lauren. I'm from Wisconsin and I love reading. I like PNR and UF. I also really like comic books and sci-fi/fantasy in general. Some of my favorite authors are Charlaine Harris, Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, Nalini Singh, Jeaniene Frost, Karen Marie Moning, Jennifer Estep, and J.R. Ward...I am super pumped for Qhuay's book!
Hi there. My name is Herbert. I am not new to GoodReads but new to this group. I am an author and I write mainly Science Fiction, Fantasy, Mysteries, Thrillers, with erotic contents. I do read books by other authors, but not as much as I used to. If you are interested in finding out more about me and my books, please, visit my blog at http://hegro.blogspot.com
*Waves* I'm Raven and new to Goodreads - still figuring it out :)I'm an avid reader of almost all genres but with a particular interest in fantasy, paranormal romance, urban fantasy and horror.
I'm the author of the Apparitions series (supernatural suspense/horror) and the Vengeance series (urban fantasy) the first urban fantasy, Primal, will be released soon! It was a ton of fun to write :)
I have just posted a message about a free book to download in Author's Corner. I can't see a way to do it to the individual group without spamming. But if anyone knows how it should be done please let me know?
Might as well say hi. I'm not sure whether I belong here (for reasons I'll ask about in the Self Promotion section), but I've written at least one story that's "traditional" paranormal romance, and several that fit it if you squint right. (I'd like to read more stuff of that type, too, but I can't usually find anything good.)Edit: Can't figure out how to make a new thread, so I'll ask it here--is there room for me in the paranormal romance genre if I usually write from the perspective of a human male? I sometimes use a nonhuman female as the perspective character, and I'm not averse to writing gay and lesbian stories, but I've only written one story so far with a human female and a nonhuman (dragon) male.
Hello everyone, my name is Abby! Love fantasy, love reading just about anything good. Stopping in to say hi!!!
Hello everyone,I'm Jenny and have been on goodreads for a while now but haven't really gotten into any groups yet so I thought I would give it a try.
I'm currently multitasking between 2 different authors. I'm reading The Dark One's series by Katie MacAlister and recently got into an Author H.N. Sieverding and have been reading her books as well. She doesn't really have a series just different fantasy stories but they pull you in.
I also love poetry and am currently deployed in Afghanistan right now but will be back in the states next month. I have a son who will be 2 next month as well and the love of my life.
Nice to meet all of you and I look forward to getting into the discussions.
Peggy wrote: "Welcome, wow Afghanistan, you go girl."lol thanks for the welcome. Afghanistan is alright but after being there for a year the sites tend to get boring.
Still scarry stuff, both my nefew and his wife did a stint there, I'm glad they made it out, hope all goes well with you and you just get to tour the area.
Afghanistan awesome send me an address if you are allowed and I will send you a free copy of my book. It's YA Fantasy so you can pass it round if it's not your thing. Debbie Hope x
Debbie wrote: "Afghanistan awesome send me an address if you are allowed and I will send you a free copy of my book. It's YA Fantasy so you can pass it round if it's not your thing. Debbie Hope x"I love all kinds of Fantasy books. I'm leaving this month though to go back to the states so our mail system is getting ready to shut down. What are some of your books? I would love to check them out as I'm always adding to my book shelf and Nook lol.
Peggy wrote: "Still scarry stuff, both my nefew and his wife did a stint there, I'm glad they made it out, hope all goes well with you and you just get to tour the area."Yes it can be but thankfully I'm inside the wire. I'm glad to know your family got out alright though and I will be leaving this month so I'm excited.
Hi all, newly signed up to Goodreads after seeing it talked about on Twitter. I love fantasy books and this seems like a lovely group.
I am Ann, I'm 37 and live in London. Looking forward to meeting you and expanding my bookshelf :)
Hello everyone! You may call me Reb or Bee, whichever you prefer. I'm joining this group because my library largely consists of paranormal romance novels and would greatly like to expand my library to include more. At the moment I'm reading a large amount of vampire novels but would greatly appreciate some suggestions on other books that have different races, etc.
Hello all! I'm Kerrigan! I devour anything by J.R. Ward, Karen Marie Moning, Kresley Cole, or Gena Showalter. I'm very excited to have found more than a few people who are similarly interested! I live in rural america where it's hard to find too many urban fantasy fans (or at least those who will admit it) :) I'm hoping I can find some new books to love and new friends to chat with .
Thanks!
You are in the right place for that. Take a look in author's corners and you will find the first chapters of books to scan through and help you choose. Mine is there too is a YA Fantasy Lunar Regeneration.
Hi guys,Great to meet you all!
My name's Rina and I'm a bilingual English/Russian translator and spec fic writer in both languages (I'm originally Russian). I love magic realism and urban fantasy (think One Hundred Years of Solutide and such), as well as SF with a surreal touch, like my favorite Aussie author Adam Browne.
I also work a lot with Russian SF authors translating their published books into English. Some of them (authors not books LOL), like Sergei Marysh and Alex Bobl, already have their books up on Amazon. With any luck, we'll add more good Russian reads for you soon :)))

Welcome Kerrigan, you will get many awesome recommendations here. Enjoy.
Hi, I'm Pandora, I'm a recent member of Goodreads and am enjoying the various communities on the site. I'm excited to meet so many like minded individuals. I consume practically anything vampire, shifter, magick, or sci-fi related. I also write in this genre and have recently published my first book on Amazon.
Hi everyone and welcome. I am excited about chatting with everyone.I also love reading J.R. Ward...one of my fav's.
I just got my new blog up for my upcoming novel on May 25th. www.megansjohnston.wordpress.com
If you like reading YA Paranormal Romance, I hope you enjoy reading Transition, A Chimera Hunter Novel, when it's out.
Hi all!!! :o)I'm Jen ... obsessed reader I love series reads so once i start a series heaven help me and my family I will read every spare minute I can until I finish it at the moment I am on book 2 of the Black Dagger Brotherhood (i'm coming in late on this one i know) loving it so far loooved the first one also.
My favorite series is Night Huntress or anything by JF she just rocks she is also a fellow North Carolinian (is that even a word?) very down to earth and even answers her fan mail regularly! I am so excited for new book to come out I know i will read it from cover to cover in 24 hrs and then probably repeat as all the snippets look awesome.
I cannot forget to mention the fact that it is because of Stephenie Myers that I started reading again after so many "im too busy" years I sat down and read the Twilight Series to see what the fuss was about I read the whole series in a week and I was hooked. My heart will forever belong to Edward but the naughty boys are soooo fun!! I love me some Bones too! I tried reading SM Host series and have not been able to get into it I have tried 3 x to read the first book then i go to something else but if she ever writes more about sparkling vamps im totally there! (unashamed Twiheart)
Anyway I am a 30 something stay at home mom of 1 teenage son I always planned to go back to work but haven't due to some health issues so reading keeps me busy and out of trouble most of the time anyway :)
Look forward to chatting with you all!! Maybe make some new friends with "like" reading interests :)
Jen
Hi My name is Jess. I'm new here but I love paranormal/ urban fantasy type books, so I was super excited to find this group! I would love to find more friends here also (I have a total of 4 on goodreads) because I love getting recommendations, seeing what people are reading, & all that good stuff :). I have an eclectic book shelf & reading is pretty much one of my favorite things to do... so if anyone wants to befriend me, I welcome all!
HI everyone! I'm Judi and I'm a light-paranormal author. "fairy tales with a twist" is my tagline. I love all types of paranormal, but the funny stuff is what seems to come out when I write. :)
Hi, I've been a member of goodreads for a while, but with so many great groups I've been a bit overwhelmed with choice and have not been very active. I hope to remedy this by joining in some great discussions. I've only recently started getting back into paranormal romance after a long break. I'm also writing a series in this genre, after swearing I never would because the market is so saturated. There really is something about vampires that keeps you coming back for more! I'm hoping to find out about some great books and I'm also interested in why other people think paranormal is so huge right now. I have a few theories and I'm really keen to find out what others think.
Hello, everyone, I'm shannon and I'm a stay at home mother of two preschoolers. I'm going back to school for my liberal arts degree. I love reading, but because I read fast iIgrow through books like crazy. I'm always on the look out for new books and series to read.

I go through books.. sry
Hello Everyone.Charlaine Harris started my love affair with the paranormal genre and I am so glad she did! I read some YA too, I just can't get enough of those sexy vampires and werewolves lol
I like a bit more action mixed in with my romance but it's not a deal breaker. A great example would be anything by HP Mallory. She writes an even balance of both and I love it!
Looking forward to further discussions and recommendations :)
Hi, my name is BR and I’m a paranormal fantasy addict. It started when a friend, or at least I thought she was a friend, loaned me a couple of JD Robb’s In Death books. Then another supposed friend loaned me Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. I discovered Kim Harrison’s Hollows series and Richelle Meade’s succubus books.
Before I knew it, I was on a death spiral into alternate realities. Yasmine Galenorn’s Sisters of the Moon, Faith Hunter’s Rogue Mage, Patricia Briggs’ Mercy Thompson, I didn’t realize it, but I was hooked. I swallowed Nina Harper’s sophisticated Manhattan succubus and Jim Butcher’s warlock without a whimper of protest.
I found myself reading about vampires having sex with werewolves, witches casting spells on unsuspecting demons, fairies falling in love with Lokis (Lokis???), all without a single thought to the depravity I was sinking into. My capacity for critical thinking drowned in a suspension of belief that knew no end. I needed an intervention, but as with most addicts, I didn’t admit to myself how low I’d fallen. I didn’t care that I was wallowing in the unclean thoughts and magical thinking that is the paranormal sewer, underlying the lives of so many people who look and act normal in the every day world. I started fantasizing about, “wouldn’t it be weird if that guy was a werewolf?” or worse, “I wonder if vampire sex is really as hot as it’s supposed to be?”
But I was told there are people here who might understand. Read any good books lately?
Hey there, my name is Jodi McIsaac and I'm relatively new to Goodreads and trying to find my way around. I'm from Vancouver, BC, where I run a boutique copywriting agency, raise my two daughters, and read and write books. I LOVE escaping into another world, especially one with magic and maybe a wee touch of romance (okay, maybe a lot). My current faves are The Sparrow by Mary Doria Russell and the Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin. Just finished The Lost Gate by Orson Scott Card, it was okay ... but kind of meh. (I may have to polish my review skills). Nice to "meet" you all!
Hello all I am LaDonna. I am née to good reads but not to the genera. I am a paranormal romance reader. I am geared mostly toward books with werewolf shifters/human alpha male. I like reading series. I am a stay at home mom at the moment but I am looking for work in my degree field. So I am doing a lot more reading. I joined the club because I need help finding the books that I like to read. Look forward to reading some of you suggestions.
Hi everyone,Karen Marie Moning's highlander series got me hooked on the genre, and after that, it's become about 99% of all that I read. lol Love everything from Highlander Druids, to vampires, to shapeshifters, including m/f and m/m romance. My bookshelves and ereader runneth over. lol
I have a few titles of my own out now that include m/m shifters to m/f time travel erotic romance, and a four book vampires series coming out in the near future from Entangled Publishing.
So cool to find a group that embraces all the spectrums of paranormal, futuristic, and urban fantasy. I look forward to your discussions!
Hey, guys!My name's Ana Hart and I love to read (obviously, or I wouldn't be here, right?) I also write stuff from time-to-time. Sometimes. Rarely. (*cough*When-my-publisher-makes-me*cough*Or-when-my-editor-kicks-me-for-missing-a-deadline*doublecough*)
I'm a huge fan of anything and everything paranormal. I also like chocolate. And kittens. And bunnies. And caffeine! And sexy nerds (it's the glasses that get me.)
I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone!
