Michelle(Chelle) aka Nightshade - Cake Whisperer (michmag) Hi everyone,

I am so happy to join my fellow PNR readers in this great group. I am a working mother of three boys and when things are gettig a little stressful at work and home there is nothing better than escaping with a good book. Add in sexy vampires and my day is made.

Some of my favorites:
Night Huntress books by Jeaniene Frost
BDB by J R Ward
Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh
Sookie Stackhouse by Charlaine Harris
Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
Demonica Series by Larissa Ione
Twilight by Stepenie Meyer

I do read other things as well - currently reading A Clash of Kings, but I always drift back to PNR.

Looking forward to checking the posts for recommendations as I am always on the lookout for another series.

I'm reading a Clash of Kings, too, but I also always go back to PNR.

Kelsen Jacobs | 3 comments Hello everyone,

I am a chronic bookworm since the age of 9. Fantasy, High Fantasy, YA I read them all. Fighting with teachers about the true meaning of study hall was a favorite past time. My books my rules. My christmas lists haven't changed much since then either. Books, Books and more Books!

Today I still read YA with my sons we have lots of the same tastes. My personal reads range from Urban Fantasy to Sci-Fi and Paranormal Romance. I love first person PI stories.. magic and mystery draws me in everytime.

I have just became a self publisher and doing shorts at the moment. I hope when I bite the bullet and go for that first novel it will be a Paranormal Romance most likely.

message 757: by Shana (new)

Shana (mommymunch) Hi!

My name is Shana and I am obsessed with paranormal anything. I love to watch Ghost Hunters, Ghost Hunters International, Paranormal State, Ghost Whisperer(lol), True Blood.....you get the idea. ;) My main love, though, is paranormal fiction! I have SO many authors I love to read, and the list keeps growing, as I find new authors from places like this and by word-of-mouth. There are too many authors for me to list....LOL!

I am a SAHM, 38 yrs old and married going on 12 yrs now. My one child, Emma, is 10 (and hitting puberty...ugh! :S).

The music I like is...
*White Zombie/Rob Zombie
*Evanescence
*Buck Cherry

The movies/movie genres I like are...
*EverAfter
*movies based on Jane Austen novels
*Horror
*British Historical Romance
*Comedies

I'm looking forward to finding new authors and hearing reviews of possible books for me to read!

message 758: by Staci (new)

Staci Krause (rosethorn) | 3 comments Hi everyone.

I am an avid reader of anything in the fantasy genre, which happens to include paranormal romance and urban fantasy. Lately, it seems like all my reading is PR and UF exclusively, although when I need a break from the heaviness these worlds bring, I pop into Janet Evanovich - which is neither, but she's hilarious. Side note: I actually learned about Janet Evanovich when reading a Memories book by Barb Hendee, which is UF.

My favorite authors are J.R. Rain (which I see almost no one ever mention. He's Kindle exclusive, but his stories are different from the norm for vampire fiction and I love that), Charlaine Harris, Tamora Pierce, Keri Arthur, Jeanine Frost and so many more. I'm particularly a fan of Richelle Mead. Just reading her makes me get out the story I've been working on - she's that inspiring.

By trade I'm a video game journalist. When I'm not playing and writng about games, I raise two young boys and I work on my own little novel. I keep changing it and changing it and maybe someday I'll like what I've done enough to actually show it to people, but I want to get the story *perfect* before I do that... so yeah, it might never happen. :D

Look forward to getting to know everyone in this group.

Hi Everyone! My name is Kristen, I live in the quad cities and enjoy the heck out of reading. The winter time is my favorite time to read because I can curl up and read in a nice warm blanket. However I have gotten into Paranormal books more and more not so I have been reading a lot more right now. It doesnt help that my husband just bought me a Kindle this year for Valentines day. I am super excited to meet new people on here! Any reading suggestions are going to help me out!

I really love Ilona andrews, Nalini Singh, Jeaniene Frost,Katie MacAlister and Molly Harper.

Melissa (havily_fray) | 13 comments I suppose I should introduce myself. I'm Melissa, 36 and live in NC. I'm a nurse. So since I only work 3 days a week, night shift, I read a lot, especially when everyone else is in bed and there is nothing to do.

I started reading horror as a teen, fell in love with Anne Rice's books, then Poppy Z. Brite. I just kept going from there and now that I have a nook and don't have to find and sell books all the time I read even more. My favorite in this genre is the Dark Hunter series. I'm always up for recommendations. Nice to meet everyone.

message 772: by Rachael (last edited Jul 07, 2011 02:23AM) (new)

Rachael (rachaelt) | 21 comments Hello everyone, I am Rachael. I attend school in the Bay Area and am a open minded fiction fanatic. I am most interested in Fantasy Paranormal books involving immortals such as Fallen Angels/Angels/Ghosts/Vampires/Demons/ etc. Preferably I love Paranormal Romance Novels involving the above items due to the fact that I love the idea of true love not only defeating every worldly obstacle but also that of the paranormal. In addition, what I also believe drives my craze is my curiosity in new information provided by the different imaginations of authors on religion. I enjoy these intricate story lines when authors intertwine biblical references or historical events with their own fictional plot. These are my favorite types of books, however I am interested in other genres of books and as stated before I am open to new suggestions.
Although I have not read in awhile, with Goodreads.com I plan to jump right back to how I used to be and get back to the wonderful world of Paranormal Romance and Love. Any suggestions? Recommendations?

Lynn Rush (lynnrush) HI. Okay, so this is my first time posting here. I'm kind of a forum newbie...still learning my way around. But I'm glad to be here. Looking forward to getting to know you all and the books you're reading. :)

As for introductions....

Hi, I'm Lynn Rush, and I'm a writer. . .

I write paranormal/urban fantasy romance. My first book is coming out this September so I'm super excited. Other basics are: I'm married (15 years this August), I'm a sports junky (road biking about 100 miles per week), and I'm a caffeine addict.

Glad to be here. Hope you all have a great day!

Hi, Katrin. Hopefully I'm doing the "reply" right. :) Thanks for your excitement. It's been a fun process. I'm getting to meet a lot of new people! On my author page, there's a link to the book, Wasteland, so you can see a little snippet about it. It's a paranormal romance with demons and angels and all that fun stuff. :) I bet you get to see lots of exciting releases since your boyfriend is in the industry. That's awesome!!! :)

Annie (annieac) Hi. I am a noob as well. I just started my goodreads account when I got the app on my nook. I have still not put all the books I have read in yet. lol. I love to read. It is kind of my escape from reality. I am not a big non-fiction fan, but I LOVE fiction, especially anything that has to do with magic or the paranormal. Some of my favorites right now are the Black Dagger Brotherhood books and they are wonderful! I also like the breeds series by Lora Leigh

I LOVE True Blood. It is a good show as long as you do not compare it to the books. There is a show on SyFy you might like called Warehouse 13. They run a warehouse full of objects that have supernatural abilities, and naturally things usually get a little out of control.

message 779: by Katya (new)

Katya | 645 comments Hi, I am Katya and although I was a Historical Romance & "Stephen King/Dean Koontz" type books-fan for many years I just recently discovered Paranormal Romance. I am not sure what kept me so long.

Some of my favorites are Karen Marie Moning, Lara Adrian, Laurann Dohner, Shannon K. Butcher, Jeaniene Frost, JR Ward & Jacquelyn Frank.

I love the shows on the syfy channel, several HBO series and hobbies include: genealogy, traveling, singing and swimming.

message 792: by Lindsey (new)

Lindsey Gray (lindsey_gray) Hey all!

I'm Lindsey Gray. I haven't always been an avid reader, but I'm completely addicted to writing. I'm interested in finding some really good books that can pull me in. I love paranormal/sci-fi/supernatural stories, but for some reason they need to have a romance aspect to it. It can be a teeny tiny paragraph in the story, but for some reason I just need it there.

I am a writer with two published novels (one paranormal, one suspense/thriller), but really not much of a self promoter. Of course I want people to read my stories, but I hate when people push things on me so I try not to do it to others.

If you have any good suggestions or want some of mine, just let me know. I'd love to hear from you!

message 793: by Judith (last edited Jul 21, 2011 04:23PM) (new)

Judith Leger (judithleger) | 6 comments Hi everyone!

I joined this group years ago. I love reading and writing paranormal romance. I suppose the start of my love for this genre after it first came out was mainly because I cut my teeth on the Gothics years ago. Seemed appropriate that I would love paranormals too.

The authors I absolutely love and will buy over and over again are: Christine Feehan, Sherilyn Kenyon, and Alison Chase (her Obsession books were awesome!). Cherry Adair is great for her magical series. Donna Grant is another good one and...well, this list could go on and on.

I love to read and love to write. Started reading and loving books with the Dr. Suess books, graduated to Nancy Drew and Trixie Beldon (now these had some strange activities that could be call paranormal at times in those books), and then moved to Victoria Holt and Virgina Coffman with their Gothics.

Happy reading everyone!!

I always said I wouldn't be a nook or PC or Kindle reader. But running out of space for Books in boxes which I will not part with My Hubby got me a Kindle and I haven't looked back since although there are times when I do both. As with a kindle I seem to read faster than with a book. I always have a look at the book shelves in the shops sorry that will never change a bad habit I guess when shopping. Debs :))

Two years ago a friend bugged me incessantly about reading Twilight and after I read the series I remembered how much I love to read! I had never read paranormal romance but after reading Twilight I checked out a few other authors (Charlaine Harris, JR Ward, etc.) and before I knew it I was hooked on paranormal romance!
