Juana "Darkness" Duran Hello Everyone,
My name is Juana and once I start a book I can't put it down. I'm mostly interested in Historical Romance, Supernatural Romance, and just anything romance. I live in Salina, Kansas so it's a long way away from some of you guys. I am hoping to be a writer someday because I love writing.

My greatest influence are my parents and Gena Showalter. I picked Gena because she was one of my favorite authors growing up. So pretty soon I will be going to college so I'm hoping to get some classes in literature.

I pretty much read everything that is not non-fiction. I don't like reading about stuff that we have to study in class. So that's pretty much me on a normal day: a book in hand along with a water bottle.

Kristie Cook (kristiecook) | 6 comments Hi, Everyone,

I've been on Goodreads for maybe a year(?) now, but just found this great group. I'm excited to check out what everyone's reading. I've been stuck in a lot of YA recently and hoping to get into some of the adult series I've seen recommended here and elsewhere...after I clear out some of the YA titles on the pile next to my bed. :-P

I'm an author, reader, business owner, wife and mom of 3 teen boys and 2 furry children. I don't do windows...or dishes, dusting or other domestic duties. Well, I do, but only because no one else will. I'd rather be writing or reading!

I look forward to chatting with you all!

Freya (freya3377) Hello I'm Freya. Quite new to GoodReads and groups. I've been reading and a lot over the years but never ventured in PNR and UF. I've been hearing a lot about them lately.
I help out with a free book winning site Freado.com and seeing these books sparked an interest.
Hope to read more in this genre. Plan to start with the Sookie series, do you have any other recommendations?

message 454: by Doe965 (new)

Doe965 Hi Kristie Welcome to the group.

What do you write? Is it YA? I understand about getting people to do chores around the house. Personally, I would rather do the cleaning because I have seen the way these people clean. LOL

Kristie Cook (kristiecook) | 6 comments Thank you, Doe! These are my books:

Promise (Soul Savers, #1) by Kristie Cook Purpose (Soul Savers #2) by Kristie Cook

No, they're not YA. Older teens enjoy them, but that's a decision for them and their parents. :)

I know what you mean...some things we have to do ourselves if we want them done right.

message 458: by Nessa (new)

Nessa Hey!! I am Nessa and I am new to the site. Been browsing around and this looks like the place for me! Right now I am getting into BDB and the Fever series and they are great. I am a mom of three and one hyper little Yorkie pup (well, not really a pup anymore, but she is tiny anyway). I work full time and when I have some extra minutes in my day I like to kick back and relax with a good book or movie. Feel free to add me as a friend. I love discussing the books I read. Am always up to chat :)

message 459: by Kris (new)

Kris (kdarrin) | 26 comments So I am realtively new to the whole social networking thing and have been kind of fumbling my way through goodreads for a while now. I have found alot of things and interesting tibbits. Is there a easy way to find people on good reads like by location. I would like to find people who like the same things I do in my vacinity.

message 460: by Caroline (new)

Caroline (carelicous) | 2 comments Hey I'm Caroline. I have a story that is Paranormal Romace, Its called "I Danced With The Devil And Drank With Demons." I don't know if its really good cause I dont get much feed back, so could maybe someone read it and tell me how it is. Thanks for reading this.

message 461: by Lesley (new)

Lesley Hastings (LesleyHastings) | 1 comments Hey folks,

I'm Lesley Hastings. I write m/m paranormal/fantasy -- my first novella came out in January! The Demon Catcher

I'm also rather into Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse novels (and True Blood too), and I'm looking forward to finding lots of new titles to read. :)

Lesley.

message 462: by Sillylittlefishey (new)

Sillylittlefishey | 1025 comments Welcome ladies!!

Nessa...I love the fever series although I haven't gotten my hands on Shadowfever yet...I might have to break down and buy it...but I'm trying to hold out since I really don't want to buy a $30 hardcover. I like BDB a lot to but I think that maybe I shouldn't have read them back to back as the storylines started getting kind of repetitive. I will still read and probably buy the new one that comes out next month.

Lesley that's really cool that you got your story published:)

Any of you are welcome to add me as a friend:)

message 463: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (bookaddict_92) | 16 comments Hey everyone!
I'm Amanda, nineteen from MA.

I absolutely love to read, basically anything that catches me attention.
For my New Years resolution, I vowed to read 50 books.

I also love music, and writing.
I write stories on fanfiction.net , basically just Twilight.
I'm one of those crazed Twilight fans.

I love Sarah Dessen books, even though I've only read one I'm already hooked.
I'm also starting to love paranormal/supernatural (same thing?) romance type of books.

I'm new to good reads, but I already love it here.

Ari Johnson (shevaun1992) | 2 comments Bonjour and good day!

My name is Shevaun (not my real name, but it's after a character in one of my favorite novels :D) I'm 18 years young, and I not only love reading paranormal romance, but I also enjoy writing it very much. Hopefully soon, I'll have some of my work out for the public to read and evaluate.

I'm into vampires, werewolves, aliens, elves, faeries, and anything else that my twisted little mind can think of, lol. There's always room for anyone and everyone in my life, so please don't hesitate to email me and whatnot. Have a splendid day!!

Love,
Shevaun

Toni (T.C.) LoTempio (toni1953) | 4 comments Hi, I'm Toni and I'm new here :) I have a few paranormal books out by small press but most recently published one on Amazon and B&N, NO REST FOR THE WICCA. some folks have reviewed it here.

I was also a huge DARK SHADOWS FANATIC growing up and ieven got to go to the studio and meet Jonathan Frid and watch a taping! I absolutely LOVED that show, saw both movies (although the second was very strange) and cant' wait for Johnny Depp's remake next year!

Oh, and my cat also has a blog: www.catsbooksmorecats.blogspot.com.

I guess that's it in the way of intros for now :) Glad to meet you all.

Becca (paperchase) | 2 comments Hello everyone :)

I'm a total bookaholic, I like to try and read 2-3 books per week and love all sorts, but have recently (1 year +) become addicted to paranormal/YA/Vampire/shifter reading. I'm 26 I live in London UK with my daughter and 8 cats (my recent rescue has just had a litter of 6). Just want to make some friends with similar/non similar reading tastes and get some recommendations, as my local library have just about shipped in all the paranormal books from a 100 mile radius and i'm still not satisfied. Add me :D I Bite.

Lisa Kumar (lisa_kumar) | 14 comments Amanda wrote: "Are faeries really interesting to read about ?"

It all depends on the book and author you choose :) But yes, the fae can be interesting to read about.

Lisa Kumar (lisa_kumar) | 14 comments Amanda wrote: "Do you have any suggestions?"

Are you into UR or PNR? Most of my recommendations are for PNR and have a variety of heat levels (some very clean and other erotic). Also, I count elves under a fae species, so some of the books feature elves:)

But here are a few favorites in no certain order:

The Fire Lord's Lover
Reunion:Ties of Blood
Prince of the Hollow Hills
Shadow Magic
The Immortal Highlander

Because I'm not into heavy smutt..

Yes, erotica is smut. Shadow Magic is the only one I would say that has heavy smut, while Reunion has no scenes of that nature.

Glad to share some suggestions :)

Amanda (bookaddict_92) | 16 comments Lol yeah I knew Erotica was,
I just got confused by PNR and UR

Oops, paranormal romance and urban fantasy.

Paranormal romance I like.
I don't think I've ever read Urban Fantasy.

message 489: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Kumar (lisa_kumar) | 14 comments I haven't read UF, either:) I like my romance too well. UF doesn't have a guaranteed happily ever after, if it has any romance in it at all.

message 490: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (bookaddict_92) | 16 comments Oh, then I'm not sure if i'd like UF... I like some type of romance, and a happy ending haha (:

Yeah, feel the same as you. UF is also too gritty for me.

message 492: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (bookaddict_92) | 16 comments Hmm , well, I won't be checking out UF anytime soon lol

message 493: by Amber (new)

Amber Hello, my name is Amber and I like to read a lot of different types of books. In the past year or so, I have gotten addicted to paranormal/vampire books. I have read the Sookie Stackhouse series and the BDB books but I am looking for more like them as well as a place to discuss them (my friends just laugh at me). I have hopefully found the perfect place in this group.

message 494: by Brittyb (new)

Brittyb Hey everyone! I am a lover of anything romance and I absolutely love paranormal romance. My favorites are of course The Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost. Bones is what I look for in a romance series. He is possessive, alpha-male, and absolutely sexy. I am also a fan of Jacquelyn Frank, Lara Adrian, and so many more. I am excited for new reading suggestions so I would love some input!!!! I really enjoy romance with action, wit, and of course the wonderful steamy scenes!!

message 497: by Wildswan (new)

Wildswan Hi!

I've just joined this website a few days ago but have been reading the review comments on books that I intended to read for a while now (just never got round to joining!). I love books about romance including paranormal romance. I've read a few series but there are still so many to read!

I used to read though not a lot when I was a student but then I kind of stopped after I started working/got married/have kids - time poor!

Anyway, long story short, I'm back on the reading wagon again. A good friend of mine introduced me to Audio books since I could multi-task by listening to books rather than read. However, I've switched to ebooks now because Audio books are too big for me to download (have limited bandwidth).

message 499: by Sillylittlefishey (new)

Sillylittlefishey | 1025 comments Welcome wildswan!

My co-workers are tried to get me to listen to audiobooks while working but I found it to be a distraction...it's hard to think and try to listen to what's going on at the same time:)

I read most of my books from actual books but I'm starting to get into the ebooks now.

Tishia (Paperback Opinion) (tishia) | 27 comments Hi, my name is Tishia and I am 29. I live in the midwest with my husband and 2 kids. I just started going back to school for graphic design (online courses). Anyway, I'm wanting to make new friends who love to read paranormal romances. Reading is my passion - I'm so addicted! I just recently started up a blog for book reviews - we will see how it goes!
