Nicole. It was good, follows the same structure as P&P just Amish characters. Most of the names are similar too.

Maria. It was ok. I have it on my Nook. The ending was very sudden. Reminded me somewhat of Lost in Austen... not as bad but similar.

message 558: by Bonnie (new)

Bonnie | 171 comments Hi Maria! Maybe we can be book buddies and read it together or something:-) We would just need to set a date to start it.

Aerykah, I love that you are a Christian Fiction reader as well! We are kindred spirits, no doubt about it. We could be book buddies too:-)

Evelyn, I do the same thing! I request like ten books from the library at once sometimes Lol. I'll tell myself I have enough and then I keep finding "just one more." Lol

I have started another book Love Lifted Me. I have read the first two in the series and loved them. It takes a little bit to get going on the first one but I'm glad I stuck to it and have enjoyed the whole series so far.

Maria | 68 comments @ Stephanie-Thanks! I've seen "Lost in Austen" and it was fun :) Generally, I don't like rushed endings but if the book is good, I might love it all the same!

@Aerykah-I love Amanda Grange's diaries! My favourite is Captain Wentworth's (so far), but Knightley's was very good, too!

@Bonnie-I'd love to do a buddy read with you! I'm not sure if I can in the next weeks, though, because I have other reads already planned. But we can find a way :) Let me know if you can wait a little :)

message 573: by Maria (new)

Maria | 68 comments Bonnie, I love them all :) So, I'd say whatever you choose, you're in for a treat! But my absolute favourite is "Pride and Prejudice", so I'd pick that one to enter the great world of Jane Austen's novels! ;)

I'll message you soon to plan our buddy read! :)

Hi Aerykah, happy Saturday! Okay, I looked up some of the books you listed and was thinking we could read one of those since they are already on your to read list. Does Finder's Fee by Alton Gansky or Beloved Stranger by Judith Pella work for you?

message 576: by Bonnie (new)

The buddy reads I've done were "organized" in a group. Since this one isn't, where do you want to discuss it?

message 594: by Stephanie (last edited May 17, 2014 08:07PM) (new)

Stephanie (stephanie-jo) | 174 comments Went to the library today and got Unlucky 13 (Women’s Murder Club, #13) by James Patterson , which I have finished already today. Then I also got Little Book of Jane Austen by Emily Wollaston , What Matters in Jane Austen? Twenty Crucial Puzzles Solved by John Mullan , Everybody's Jane Austen in the Popular Imagination by Juliette Wells , A Truth Universally Acknowledged 33 Great Writers on Why We Read Jane Austen by Susannah Carson , and Jane Austen A Life by David Nokes . Some of these I am previewing to see if I want to add to my library in the future.

message 595: by Nicole D. (new)

I'm new to goodreads as of this week so do you want to start a place and let me know? I think I'm getting the hang of it but just in case, you probably know a lot more about how this group stuff works than I do Lol!
