I thought it was really good, but then again I always love his books. Rick kinda backed himself into a corner with this series, though. I'm sure it's really hard to have that many main characters.
I really, really, REALLY love the Heroes of Olympus. Just read MoA three days ago. Loved it! But one prob: why didn't Percy go with Pipes and Jay (that's Piper and Jason, in case ya didn't know) to beat up Hercules/Heracles for what he did to poor, poor Zoe?! Why!?

I didn't hate the book nor dislike it. But i tend to agree with ya. I feel like he tackled a little to much and it made some thing confusing. But I still liked the book.

I wouldnt say i didnt like it but for me it was the weakest book of the series. And i just find piper to be a poorly written character compared to the rest
I thought Rick did really well considering how many main characters he had to contend with! I really had no problem with MoA, I adored it, like every book Rick writes(including the Kane Chronicles!). It was funny, exciting, and very moving and I can't wait for the next one!
Four characters was a bit much, and it was confusing in that respect. But other than that, this book was amazing as usual. And that cliffhanger makes up for everything else that's wrong with it.
I really love these books. I like reading books that have different points of view, it makes it more fun and enjoyable to read.
I really liked the book, although I agree that it wasn't the best. They needed something else to do in this book, like another 'main' quest. They had a bunch of little things they had to do, but those just started and finished.I don't want to say it was boring, but there was either too much going on or not enough.
I thought they met way too many gods/goddesses in this one, and when monsters came in was just awkward.
Everyting felt one-thing-after-another, it didn't flow. It was probably because of the too any main characters.
Although even with all that I still liked this book (it won't be a favourite though) and I am super excited for the next book!
If you think 4 points of view is too much never read Game of thrones. There is at least 25 different point of view in the series so far, and more than 300 named characters in the series. Personally i loved Mark of Athena. While i do miss the stories being narrated by just Percy, the different points of view are refreshing and interesting.

It was probably one of the greatest books I've read in like my whole life. No lie! Although the cliffhanger is definitely something I nevr thought Rick Riordan would do so thats an exciting and different first at least. Something new you know?

yeah thx i just love the whole sereis!
I really love the heroes of Olympus series, but I get what you're saying about how everybody seems to come up with a perfect plan just right before they are about to die. It is unrealistic =/ That is the only part of the books that I don't like. It started to lose it's suspense because I felt like "Oh they are just gonna come up with some crazy plan anyways and everyone is gonna be okay." This book didn't really hit it for me either... but I still love the series and I remain a loyal percy jackson fan. I still LOVE the characters and how they are all so different, I love the dialogue, and most importantly I love the mythology allusions. ^_^

CONFUSING; I felt like there were too many twists and turns that I found myself going 'Huh?????'
ODDLY PACED; OK. I felt like there was a bit too much action in some places and not enough in others. And Frankly i found that having them stuck on the ship 3 quarters of the book was just too much.
UNREALISTIC; OK, OK, I know it's fantasy but even for fantasy somethings where just too much of a stretch.. Example- The character who's mind your in at the moment always seems to think of something at just the right moment. But I guess it wouldn't be a good book if everyone dies.....
TOO MANY VIEW POINTS; I found it annoying that while you get to be in someones head you can't be in others. Pleasssssee stick to 3 people narrating a book. But then again there are more people... but still
MY OVERAL STAMENT; Rick Riordan tried to tackle too much for this book. Aka bit off more than he could chew. I loved The Lost Hero and The Son of Neptune but this...... :/
That just about sums it up. please don't take offense to this. This is just my opinion of he book. Everyone has their own opinion so tell me what you think of the book. Again, I love Rick Riordan and really wanted to like this book :(
