That was a great book for me. I really like the following books too, I like the ending and I always like a bit of religious controversy ;)(Well controversy in general :)).

Jeri (GlitterQueen) | 141 comments Just finished Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, so I completed my challenge. I will probably try to get one or two more read before the end of the year. I just bought Ender's Game on sale yesterday, so maybe I'll try for that.

Lilac (lilac_wales) | 910 comments I'm going to reduce my goal to 18, which I think is a more reasonable target seeing as I've read 15 up to now. I've also figured out that if I read 18 a year for the next few years I can finish the list before I'm 20, which would be really cool. So whether or not this is a yearly challenge next year it's a personal goal for me :)

The 15 I've read and the 3 I'm going to read:

2. The Fellowship of the Ring - ★★☆☆☆ - 02/06/13
3. Pride and Prejudice  - ★★★☆☆ - 23/06/13
8. Romeo & Juliet - ★★★☆☆ - 21/07/13
13. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn - ★★★☆☆ - 02/02/13
14. The Great Gatsby - ★★★☆☆ - 31/07/13
18. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland - ★★★★☆ - 06/11/13
19. The Handmaid's Tale
25. Dune - ★★☆☆☆ - 05/08/13
29. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - ★★★★☆ - 30/01/13
41. The Picture of Dorian Grey
47. The Book Thief - ★★★★★ - 20/01/13
49. Dracula - ★★★★☆ - 31/10/13
52. The Color Purple - ★★★☆☆ - 17/03/13
58. Ender's Game - ★★★★★ - 16/04/13

Lilac (lilac_wales) | 910 comments Finally finished! My average rating of these books was only 3.4 so I guess at least this part of the top 100 on Goodreads isn't quite what it's cracked up to be. Still I did find some wonderful books and series like Game of Thrones, Ender's Game and Les Miserables. :)

Read: 8/10

message 325: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Well this is a bit odd. I intially planned to read 15 to bring my count from 35 to 50. I changed around what I read as I went for various reasons and didn't always keep the best track, but I thought I knew what I needed to read. I came to post that I will fall short by one, and I was a bit annoyed because I have the book and just have not been reading this last few days.

I went to the list just to verify my count would be at 49. It's at 52. I did identify two books that I read this year on it and did not have on my list, but I can't find the third.

So I unexpectedly finished my challenge and updated post #75 with my final count. Now if I could just figure out where that extra book came from.

message 326: by Adriana (new)

Adriana | 3888 comments It's 51. 35 plus 16 is 51. You must have added wrong. Great job on your challenge!

I realized that. I can't figure out what the third book is. I may have read it in a previous year but didn't mark it till now and didn't know it was on the list. Or I read it this year but can't find it on the list.
