I do love the challenges, too. The control freak in me thrives on list making (even if I don't make it through 1/2 the books I picked!)

If someone needed to drop out, let everyone know and someone who feels they have a bit of extra time to make two can step up.
I would like to see more advertisements for challenges. :-)

I stepped down from leading the bookmark swap because it was a lot to maintain monthly for so long (over a year). BUT... I did really enjoy them. I use the bookmarks I've received all the time.
In another group they did the swap a little differently, which really helped with people not flaking out. What they did was each make a predetermined number of bookmarks (10 or something) and ship them to one swap leader along with a self-addressed stamped envelope. When the leader received everyone's submissions, she divvied them up and mailed all of the new bookmarks out in the envelopes.
Now, I know that doing 10 at a time would make it difficult to be as detail oriented on each bookmark but maybe the payoff of getting a bunch in exchange for the work would be nice.
So basically, if a stash of bookmarks and a SASE aren't received by the leader, then the flake doesn't get to receive any goodies.
Do we want to try it like this once after the new year?

I wasn't a moderator when I started the bookmark swap, and Kellee wasn't one when she started the monthly challenge.
We love participation and great ideas! If you want to give something a try, we're all for it.

Your book challenges look interesting, but I tend to miss many of them. Even if a deadline is still ahead, it's hard for me to commit to one more thing.
General book discussions are always interesting to read and pretty easy to find something to contribute. Most lend themselves to irregular drop-ins, which is also great because I'm happy if I visit groups about once a month.
Ones which center around books draw me in only if I've read the book. Given time, I'm sure I'll get to many of them.

It seems like we've slowed down some here in Wild Things.
As moderators, we're looking for suggestions.
What would you guys like to see happen in WT?
What would draw you into discussions?
What can we do to make it more fun?
More challenges? Less challenges?
We'd love to hear your comments, suggestions, etc. We're always open to new ideas and having members run stuff that interests them.
