I wanted to start Julie Anne Long's A NOTORIOUS COUNTESS CONFESSES or Eloisa's SEDUCED BY A PIRATE, but they aren't downloading on my Nook. I called customer service, which is out due to Hurricane Sandy and I'm thinking the failed downloads are due to Sandy also. Has anyone else encountered problems over the past week getting downloads from B&N?
I really liked ON DUBLIN STREET, Irish. It's not my usual type of book at all, but for some reason it really worked for me. I wasn't gaga about it like some folks on Goodreads have been, but I enjoyed it.
Bummer about your Nook downloads. You're probably right that it's Sandy related, though.
I finished the last of the Fever books last week, and then devoured the new Laura Griffin, Scorched, which ended far too quickly. Now, I'm about halfway through Roxanne St. Clair's Barefoot in the Rain. OMG, I think Will might be my favorite hero of the year. He's just so sweet.

IrishEyes, I work at a B&N and I know a lot of people were having problems last week with their Nooks due to Sandy. I haven't worked since Friday, but hopefully it will all be figured out soon.
I'm looking forward to about 6 new books tomorrow! In the meantime, reading Sabrina JEffries new book.

I've heard about this one. Let us know what you think, Susan:)

I sure will. By the way, Irisheyes, I also had a problem downloading books onto my Nook. I shut off the wireless feature, then turned it back on. This seemed to clear the problem for me.

And Manda--big congrats for the RT Book Reviews award nomination! (Manda's How to Dance with a Duke is up for best debut historical romance of the year!) http://www.rtbookreviews.com/rt-daily...

Since I still can't get to my recent purchases on my Nook I may catch up with Meg Benjamin's Konigsburg series. I thought I had read most of them but I think I'm 3 behind.

BTW: These books are a great price on kindle right now.
Congratulation on the RT nomination Manda!! I have it downloaded and can't wait to read it.
Thanks, guys! It's pretty exciting. I agree, though, DLS, that some of the categories are weird. There's one book in the Regency category set in the 1760s...

FYI - if any of you have this problem the way to solve it is to archive your book, turn your Nook off, turn it back on and unarchive it. Then it goes from Pre-order to New.

I also enjoyed the historical research she put into it--many people wandered the West during the 1870's using aliases to escape horror-memories of the Civil War. Quite a few came here, so the local newspapers have archives of those folks. This story is consistent with our local history and the histories of other western states.
OH! I was having that problem too. I don't actually have to turn the nook off--just archive and unarchive. Weird glitch.

Just finished Captain Vorpatril's Alliance. Not her deepest book but any Bujold is worth reading. Funny and touching.
