Love that book. One of my earliest fantasy reads. It's one that remained in the memory after others faded. There's something stirring and heartrending about a hero's last stand.

I always re-listened to the previous books before the new one came out, but I think this is my first listen through knowing how it all ends. It is interesting to see how all the little clues spread throughout the books tie together. Even a few things that only make full sense knowing the end. And of course, there's that one chapter near the end of Deathly Hallows that practically rewrites the whole series.

I'm new to S&L and to some extent to the genre as well, so I'll be starting a daily reading log in the book's section later today, with comments as I go through the book.
Wanted to get some community interaction and that seems like a good way to go about it.

Incognito is excellent. I posted an article on writing in my blog titled 'The Sexing of Baby Chicks and How to Wrote More Better' which was inspired by an early section of that book. That section, on sexing baby chicks and distinguishing between British and German warplanes during WWII, was excerpted and published in Discover magazine a while back (which is what inspired me to read the book in the first place).

Was going to listen to Red Country by Joe Abercrombie but the Audible app won't download it. Apparently it's not available in the enhanced format or format 4, which are the only 2 the app uses. Well, crap!
Guess I'll listen to The Dirty Streets of Heaven instead.

I just checked this on my Audible app and I didn't have a problem downloading it. And Red Country has "enhanced" edition checked in my library? There's an update for the app just come out, maybe worth checking.

Audible told me the problem is that the parts were mislabeled causing the problem and they were trying tofix it.

Audible has fixed the problem with downloading Red Country so going to listen to it next.

Starting World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War now, quite excited as I haven't read zombie novels in ages!

God Touched) and am waiting impatiently for book 5 to be published. I am now onto the second book of the Iron Druid series Hexed which I'm enjoying so far. The dog side kick is a real laugh and I can see why this series seems to be so popular.

I've read a few zombie novels now and this still remains my favorite of the lot with Feed coming in second.

Feed is definitely on my to read list as well :) The concept seems really appealing, I'll probably start the series when I'm done with World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War.

In print, I'm reading Alif the Unseen. It's a really good blend of cyberpunk and fantasy. I'm thoroughly enjoying it.
I took a timeout today to read Two Ravens and One Crow, an Iron Druid novella set just before the book that's coming out at the end of the month. I've been listening to the series in audio because Luke Daniels does an amazing job, especially the way he reads Oberon's parts. It was a bit weird reading the novella in e-book version, but the audio was too expensive for such a short work.

I know I have a serious disease. I also read a bit of the bible every night...

Alif the Unseen was probably the best book I read this year. I absolutely loved it.

Finished my Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire audio book re "read". I'm now on to listening to Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

Abercrombie is my new favourite author. If you are into audio books, Stephen Pacey is an excellent narrator.

Next up, Hamilton's second book in the Commonwealth Saga, Judas Unchained

Finally had some time to do some actual reading too, so I knocked out The Racketeer by John Grisham. Always an enjoyable read, but I miss when his legal thrillers used to actual be thrillers.

Next up is The Fires of Heaven, will probably try and stretch the series until the ebook for the last one is released. April was it? I know I'll probably cave in and just get the hardback, but I'll definitely try and hold on!

I'm really enjoying the audiobook of The Blinding Knife. I wasn't expecting to because I really don't like Simon Vance as a narrator, but the story is so good that it's overcoming that.

Listening to Heroes myself. Couldn't agree more.
Checking out Peter Clines new book "14."

Yes, I've also read it and really enjoyed it. There's a prequel called First Shift - Legacy that so far isn't quite up to the standards of the Wool omnibus but it's apparently also the first in trilogy so wait and see at this point.

Listened to Dodger by Terry Pratchett. Fun book. Would like some sequels, but with his health problems don't think we'll get any.

Going to check out the Vorkosigan Saga books with Shards of Honour

Make sure you keep on to book 2 Barrayar, takes place right after and acts as a duolgy before she moves on to the next gen for the main character. It's one of my favorites in the series too.

Thanks Snokat. I've heard that somewhere else as well so I'll make sure I give it a good crack.
