Hoping for Gisbelle or Jacquelyn's help!!!Okay, so I just finished The Summer I Turned Pretty and it was based on a beach called Cousins Beach.
It never specifies a state. I found on the author's blog, when someone asked her what/where this beach is based on, she said:
It’s not a real beach, but it’s sort of based on Cape Cod and also the Hamptons. And just a splash of the Outer Banks!
So, can I use this for the 50 states challenge? Do I say it takes place in Cape Cod, Massachusetts or am I not able to use this book because it's not in a real place?
Just thought I would check! LOL! I'm not committed either way, but I figured I would clarify now to help me with picking books for this challenge!

Okay, I am going to say that you are able to use it as Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Many of the books I'm putting on for this challenge are not real places either :D Good question Trisha! Glad I could help!

I'm bumping into a lot of books that aren't specifying where they take place. I hope it's okay, but if they mention a prolonged stop or dream of going and then completing that dream, I've been including that state as for the book. :)Example: Something Like Fate: she loves fish, has always wanted to to go Hawaii but she was afraid of swimming.
