Hi everyone. I’m Alona. I’m not new to the group, ngayon ko lang talaga naiisipang magpost ng comment and introduce myself. Mahiyain daw kasi ako.

I’m a nurse working in a call center. Hindi na daw kasi uso ang magwork sa hospital.
I love to read. And what else? Hmmm... I’m a frustrated singer and writer too. Ha-ha.

I’m a voracious reader. My choice of book genre changes from time to time. I can’t tell why because I don’t know the exact reason why I’m so fickle minded when it comes to my book choices.

The plot, most of the time, would initially ignite my bookworm blood but strong, well-written, fleshed-out, human characters would sustain my interest in finishing the book. In addition to a catchy plot, I have to love or simply care for the characters too. That being said, compelling storytelling is something that I immensely enjoy. I love to become absorbed with what I’m reading.

I love Romance. I always go for books with happy endings. I know, it’s a typical Filipino trait and I’m proud of it. Nevertheless, I would still occasionally enjoy love stories that doesn’t end the way I want it to be given that the story was well written and the writer caught my dramatic self.

I’m a Twilight fan but not all vampires caught my attention. There would never be another Edward Cullen in my fantasy realm but I’m not closing my doors to new vampires out there.

I’ve fallen in love with angels. Fallen angels, avenging angels, nephilims-name it, I love them all. Daniel Grigory started it all.

I like novels that makes me emotional (laugh, cry, mad, happy and the rest). I don’t just read Young Adult Novels, I go beyond that. Though I’m forever young at heart I still take pleasure in reading Adult Novels but not too erotica. I have my limits of what I can tolerate.

I told you, mahiyain ako right?

I am also in love with Edward Cullen. Despite the inconsistencies and grammatical errors in the Twilight Series, I still find myself loving the story. Of all the 4 books, I like New Moon the least. Gusto ko lang patayin na si Bella nun, para tumigil na drama niya. Hahaha...

Just like you, I'm also not fond of Erotica. (Warning: Next sentence is not so related to the first sentence of this paragraph.) The Principal in 10 Things I Hate About You made me smile. "Bratwurst..." Funny... Somehow that scene gives you an idea how erotica is written. Hahaha...

Off-topic. K.D. Book 2 of the Millenium Series is a lot better than Book 1. Although, you really have to read book 1.

^^ Book 2 is a lot of a mess than Book 1 with the inclusion of a live person. Book 1 is a masterpiece although the Wennerstrom affair was downplayed significantly.

Alibiserver I agree. Plot-wise book 1 is better. Although, there are instances that I wanted to trash the book for the unnecessary sexual innuendos that did not contribute at all to the story. Yung mga parts that fall under "ano-beh-kailangan-ba? moments". Hehehe... Personal preference lang po.

The elements of verisimilitude plays into contact so don't be surprised if a female inspector does the body around 9 o'clock in the morning and by 11 o'clock, waits in the Tunnelbana, picks up her child in the nursery and goes to her apartment near Bellmansgatan. the same pattern exists in Henning Mankell.

i actually like Erotica. you just have to pick a story with substance.

I'll look for Unearthly. Panahon ng makahanap ng bagong book boyriend. Lalo na't nagdadalawang isip ako if I'll buy book 3 of the Fallen series.

Hindi naman ako sobrang picky sa binabasa. I read erotica too but not often. Madalas kasi nababato ko lang. (Kawawa naman yung matatamaan.) But I'll try to look for a story with substance, as you say. :')
