[General] Introduce Yourself!
@Kwesi: I liked some of the books in that series to like the Breaking Dawn, but I do agree that some parts are overrated@K.D, well never let it be unsaid na talented naman talga ang mga Pinoy pero some tend to go to the safe mode na ginagaya lang or inaadapt ung mga teleserye from foreign countries so maybe that's why hindi gaanong naaapreciate ung talents nila because they go for the safe way na kikita at bebenta sa tao ung movie or teleserye.
FAYE: Good point, Faye. I know that the teleserye writers meet almost everyday to decide what to do with the characters and they get the program rating performance into consideration. I heard that the meeting sometimes become heated because they cannot agree where to bring the story to. Considering the stiff competition between ABS-CBN, GMA and TV-5, just think how much pressure those writers are getting.
Regarding adaptation, I used to think that way too. But now that I have been "exposed" to older literatures (pre-1900), no one really can claim of originality including the very first English novels like William Dafoe's Robinson Crusoe or Behn Aprah's Ooronoko. I know that they must have based their novels on something too. Maybe not written but probably verbal stories or anecdotes.
@Kwesi: di nga? I haven't read those.@K.D: Good point too, some do really good jobs at that, what I don't like are some programs na tinatagalog nila and if they are talented enough to fit words the same time that actors and actresses speak, I think they are talented more than enough to visualize something na sila talaga ang may gawa, like Imortal nga for example since you can't really say na adapted sya sa Twilight kasi magkaiba naman ung flow ng story di ba. If writers would do more programs like that, then siguro mas makikita ang kagalingan ng mga Pinoy. Btw, thanks for the example in claiming originality. :)

Faye wrote: "@Jemimah, haha. I could easily imagine, the Pinoy version of THG. Haha, for sure overrated na pag ginawa sa tin, with effects na halatang halata with a mix of fantaserye in it. eew nga talaga. haha."onga po. hahaha kaya wag na talaga. :P
Hindi ko pa nababasa ang THG.Pero may prejudice na ako na kung gagawin man siyang local, malamang... you know.
:))

Pangit kasi pag me ganun. Lame. Corny. haha
Basta ako I love Twilight and THG series.
i agree with KD. Twilight books are good; it's the first YA series i read and finished and loved. but the movies? yuck. nung twilight movie fever na, parang nahihiya na kong ipagsabi na fave ko ung book series. haha! badtrip tlg naman kasi ung movie adaptations. super layo sa books.
Nooooo. Maganda yung mooooovie. hahahha x)Kaysa naman yung Hunger Games. Papalitan na lahat. Tas yung cast pa. Ews.
I liked the first Twilight movie. I thought it was a well-made one. Very faithful to the book.I did watched the second movie.
I did not bother to watch the 3rd movie. Sumawa na ako. Abangan ko na lang sa HBO. Nakatipid pa ako. ha ha
Yung first talaga ang best. :))Yung saga maganda talaga.
So, sulit na.
Hehehe. The end.
(I suck at introducing myself. -.-")
(I suck at welcoming people. @_@)
Hello, Angus! Hehe. :)
haha. I both love those series, nung una ayaw kong basahin ung THG kasi parang brutal/violent pero naengganyo din ako ng mga friends ko here and classmates so I gave it a try ulit and nagsisi pa ko na hindi ko tinuloy nung una. For Twilight, I'm a fan of the saga and did like the first movie even the second one pero ung third, parang naging overrated na for me.

Hello po
:D
FAYE: Nice to know that I am not alone in loving both series: Twilight and THG.
@ K.D: parang? haha. parang alam ko na.Have you seen I am Number 4? weird kasi mas nagustuhan ko ung movie. I'm beginning to check this group more frequently kasi at last may mga nakakausap na ko, dati parang papansin lang. haha. I am a twilight fan too (but more of the books), and I'm proud of that too. haha@Cookie, welcome to the group. It's ok, I suck at introducing myself too. haha. :)
Hi, the name's Vanessa. I'm 19 years old. I just got into reading again recently, so yea. Oh, I love music of all sorts, if I can say that on here haha... Just thought it would be something worth mentioning. Hi to everyone! :)
K.D. wrote: "Hi Vanessa. Are you a Twilight fan too? :)"I like Twilight. But I haven't gone past the second with both the book or the film. Haha, but I'll finish the series soon lol. :)))
K.D. wrote: "That's okay, Vanessa. At least you are not allergic to it ha ha."Ako K.D., allergic. Hindi naman ako elitist. Not my cup of coffee lang. I find vampires and werewolves and love affairs with vampires and werewolves un-fascinating (word? haha).
Welcome to all newbies - Twilight fans or not. :)
@Angus, hahaha. Oo nga, pero aamin ako, may Twilight series ako. Hahaha! :))@KD, pwede ba 'yung dating fan? Hahahaha!
@Ingrid, hello rin! :)
@Faye, hello! Hehe. Mahina talaga ako sa introductions kasi. Hahahaha. Apir tayo! :D
Hi. I'm Teresa. 15 years old and an incoming senior. :DWhen I was in elem I didn't like reading and I didn't speak tagalog back then but now thanks to high school, I can. :))
I've never finished a book before I went to HS. In my school now we need to read a book per quarter but honestly I've never finished a single book that we're required to read. (Para saan pa ang Sparknotes, right?)
Then, after reading Riordan (gift from a friend) I became 'obsessed' (as my mom says) with books. I started buying books and reading them in the same day. I just joined GR nung Feb. :]
So, Um.. Kamusta? :D
Hi Teresa. WELCOME!! Riordan, the author? (Stupid question. haha.) Percy Jackson ba ung book? (another stupid question.) haha.. :)
@Teresa, I just finished "The Sea of Monsters". The Lightning Thief was great but my expectations for the 2nd book was too high, the book didn't reach it. :(

I love Filipino authors of teleseryes. The way they think of what should happen next just requires a lot of talent.
