Hi guys!I'm Andrea but you can call Drea and I'm new to this group.
I'm from Las Pinas, Philippines but we moved to Toronto, Canada when I was like 10 years old. I can still speak Tagalog (I prefer English since I always speak that). I'm 15 years old and I'm currently in Grade 10.
I haven't visited the Philippines yet and I really want to because I want to see my old friends. It's a good thing Facebook was invented. Lol!
Anyway, I like the colour yellow.
I like reading any kind of books. As long as it's not boring. My favourite book would probably be Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (only the first book, the two other books sucked).
I don't really buy books since everything is expensive in Canada so I just borrow some of them from the library.
Well, that's about it.
Paalam na po! :D

Hi Drea,Welcome to the GR-TFG. I have cousins in Toronto. I used to work in Las Pinas.
Welcome JV and Gabby!
Joyzi - Really? Well, Mockingjay was really bad. I hated it because it was really dull.Rollie, Kwesi and K.D - Hey! Thanks for welcoming me! There are lots of Filipinos here. Like in my school, almost 80% of the Asians are Flips.
"Flips"? Is that the short term for Filipinos? In the 80's when you say "Flip sya", it means "he/she is a loony". If I am not mistaken ha ha.
K.D. wrote: ""Flips"? Is that the short term for Filipinos? In the 80's when you say "Flip sya", it means "he/she is a loony". If I am not mistaken ha ha."baka typo lang :)
And my heart died once again.Maybe tis' what fangirls feel whenever I diss effin Twilight. Yeah, karma is a bitch, Aaron. Get over it.
Yeah.. That's what they call us here and I got used to it. (btw, I don't even know what that means. I just knew it when Will showed me the link. Lol!)
Hi guys. I am new here and I think I am going to love it here. :)I am Jhae. A 3rd year psychology student from Adamson university. My love for books started when I was in elementary, all thanks to J.K. Rowling. So, yes. I am a very huge Harry Potter fan. I also love Sidney Sheldon. I adore his works. :) I try to read as many books as I can. ^___^
What else about me?
I am a coffee monster. I love drinking coffee. :) I love taking photos although I do not own a decent camera, but one day I will. :)
Hi Jhae, Welcome to Goodreads. I love J. K. Rowling too! I am currently reading HP 1 haha!
I have decent cameras but I have taking photos!
Hi Rob Jeremiah?! *waves* nung napadaan ako sa PLM me nagstrike na mga students ahahaha wala langwelcome dito >.<
Hello!I'm 25 years old and I've been an avid reader since I was a little kid.
I like a touch of humor, so one of my favorite authors is Terry Pratchett. When I was younger I loved Roald Dahl and Judy Blume (still do). I collect mostly Newbery Honor books. I'm a bit more critical reader now than before and I appreciate a writing style that is clear and unpretentious, and a story that is logical and wraps up nicely. 1984 by George Orwell is one of my top books. I admire Orwell's style.
Aside from that I read a lot of nonfiction, from cookbooks to how-to books, and Malcolm Gladwell books.
I took a long break from reading fiction novels and only got back to it this year. For nearly a decade I focused on Japanese manga, which is why my bookshelf is currently dominated by manga. I love most things Japanese <3
Welcome to The Filipino Group, Rob and Tintin! Hope you can be as active as possible in our group. We need young people like you to influence old soldiers like me ha ha. Rob, I loved chemistry too (I finished 15 units of it during the ancient times). I also enjoyed reading the 1st 3 books of Mitch Albom (never mind his detractors). But I still have to try Sidney Sheldon. One of these days, I will try his The Other Side of Midnight. It had a movie adaptation in the 70s and grownups were raving about the "hanger" scene. I did not see the movie but I overheard them talking about it.Tintin, I loved 1984 too! And oh Roald Dahl's Boy and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Unfortunately, Charlie lost in the poll for December read. Well, maybe next time. I have books by Pratchett,Blume and Gladwell waiting for me to read them. Maybe I can compare notes with you after reading them ha ha. And you are reading manga? Well, seems to me that you are a well-rounded person when it comes to books.
@Rollie: Hehe, commute kasi is the perfect 'downtime' for reading. Sa ibang bansa komportable kang makakabasa ng libro sa tren or bus, kaya lang dito sa Pinas lubak-lubak ang daan, malakas magpreno ang mamang driver, at magalaw ang jeep :(@K.D.: thanks for the warm welcome :D I tend to read books about every topic that interests me from self-help to piano to tarot card reading. Kaya lang po fiction that I read starting this year lang ang linalagay ko dito sa goodreads account ko, because I specifically created this account to keep track of the new novels I read. (So not even my favorites such as Charlotte's Web are on my list). Andami pong novels ni Terry Pratchett - 3 pa lang nababasa ko sa kanya, but I know he's my kind of writer.
@Joyzi: Yup, I like Absolute Boyfriend too. I used to collect all the mangas by the mangaka of Absolute Boyfried (Watase Yuu) so I have all the Fushigi Yuugi books. Fruits Basket was also an early fave, kaya lang hindi ko na siya type sa later volumes nung sumobra na ang drama para sakin. Vampire Knight- watched the anime. And Gakuen Alice I only read up to a few volumes. Tell me what kind of manga you like and I might be able to rec something :)
