Hi all,I'm fish, I'm a newbie here.. :)
I just started reading books this year,
I've never thought reading is this fun.
I like mystery,crime, sci-fi and YA books
I've only read few books so far most of them are series
nothing much to share.. hehe
i don't usually join clubs, I'm just a regular boring person, haha
i hope i can meet new friends here. and I can participate on some events in this group,
Thanks
Hi!!I'm just new and i'm wondrin if i could join this group. I also love to read books but sad to say I'm not able to read a lot at the moment because of work :( but well I hope to get along with you guys :)
Hi everyone *waves*. I'm Diane and I'm new here. I started reading late elementary (Hardy boys stuff) to early highschool years (goosebumps and SHV). My tastes changed over time, I read a lot of my mom and gran's old books. Now I'm currently interested in vampire(both sparkling and non-sparkling) and paranormal stories.
I just finished the Hunger Games trilogy (it's awesome).
Presently, I'm hunting down some books from the Black Dagger Brotherhood and Midnight Breed series. (if you're selling lemme know? haha :D)

@Cesar: Thanks. :D@Sherishbumps:
Shangrila branch is unfortunately too far. But I'll check Powerbooks SM Cebu branch. Thanks. :D
Hello Everyone! My name is richmond. I am new to this book club. I joined this club because i want to have conversations with people regarding books, some of my friends have little interest in reading and usually we don't talk about books when we see each other. And i want to seek out ideas, confront such ideas with people and possibly learn more from the different perspectives of fellow readers. :)
So far, I could say that I am only an occasional reader. But I have decided to exert more effort in reading and become a certified bookworm.
I always loved reading. Reading always presents a new opportunity for learning or another discovery. It takes me away from reality and it sucks me into its own universe. I always gets immersed with the different characters and episodes in the pieces that I am reading. Whether this universe is created by Oda, Jose, Coelho, Rowling, Kishi or Rand, I just simply play the part of an extra watching the plot unfolds.
But aside from reading, I also like to watch t.v. (I'm a fan of fringe and shark), kpop music and research anything random from the internet (like biography of miriam d., translations of kpop songs, proper corporate attire etc.)
So there, I hope I did not bore you with this intro and I wish I could have friends here and would let me hear your thoughts. :)
Till next time!
hi everyone :) I'm Chiari, Chia for short, (not my real name, but what I would name myself if I were given a chance :P). My friend, Lany -a.k.a. Hunnybun, recommended this group. I'm not sure if she's active here though.Okay, the first book I read was...the Bible. LOL. As funny as it sounds, it's true. What can I say, I was a religous kid. :P The next book I remember reading was Harry Potter during my Maths in 1st yr HS. I remember it cause my teacher caught me reading HP instead of listening to her.
I like a lot of books and I can't remeber all of them so I'll just write what I can remember right now. Hunger Games trilogy, Southern Vamps/Sookie Stackhouse Series, House of Night, Shiver and Linger, Percy Jackson and the Olympians,Red Pyramid, Beautiful Creatures, Fallen, Hush, hush, Everafter, Fairytale by cyn balog, wicked lovely, ghostgirl, the inheritance cycle, Wings, Spells,Wondrous Strange, Darklight, and a lot lot LOT more...
I dont like reading Horror, because most of the times I dream about whatever I was reading or writing before I got to sleep and I DO NOT like having nightmares.
I'm also trying to write something right now, but I always get distracted and I need a critique... I need a critique and someone who would push me to finish what I'm writing :)
Hi evryone! im not new to goodreads cause i first joined the international group. later did i found out na there's local group pala of goodreads. Im 21 yrs old and now working as a marketing assistant in an I.T. company :)Im a self confessed book addict! im not ashamed to say that even if im in the comfort room, ill always bring my book mith me! :D So my expectations here is to gain friends and to know more about books!! see ya!
Hello to all new members! *waves*CHIARI: Ditto, I'm not a fan of horror. I don't like being scared senseless by what I read or watched. Strangely, that doesn't stop me from joining scary story telling. The only payoff of that is that I freeze in fear whenever I'm in the bathroom. Crazy imagination. :P
I can't offer you critique (since I'm bad at that), but if you're writing a novel, you may want to join National Novel Writing Month in November (www.nanowrimo.org). I'm the Municipal Liaison for the Philippines and this may be the push you need to finish what you're writing, and then some. :)
Wow, so many new names. Welcome to TFG. Mabuhay!@Fish - we have something in common. I am also a regular boring person! I prefer to befriend fictional (book) characters than actual people. For one, they cannot betray me ha ha.
@Han - please find time to read. We cannot get along if you do not read. Otherwise, invite me as your friend in FB (where people are not expected to read but just to browse tons of pictures).
@Dianejan3 - there are many certified fans of THG Trilogy here. I only liked Book 1 so at least we have 30% common in book taste.
@Bobang a.k.a. Richmond - are you a boy or a girl? Oda, Jose, Coelho, Rowling, Kishi or Rand - let me see if I know your faves: Jinky Oda (is she a writer?), Jose Rizal (of course!), Coelho (you can get along well with Jzhun), Rowling (zzzz), Kishi (who?) and Rand (if this is Ayn Rand, then boy or girl, we can be friends too!)
Chiari - you are my favorite among the newbies today! I like books on religion also. There are very few of us here. Currently, I am reading Confessions of St. Augustine and it is taking me a long time to finish because it is so beautiful and I normally fall asleep while reading. Not that it bores me. It is so beautiful that I feel relaxed and peaceful while reading and digesting his beautiful words. It is like reading and praying at the same time! Lani, please invite more religious readers so we can outnumber the YA people! ha ha
@Supermaqui - you're the funniest! We normally lend and borrow books here (at least among those who've attended the meet ups already) but I might have a second thought borrowing from you ha ha. Joking aside, I am also working as an I.T. person. It is nice to be a reader and an I.T. When you run your program and it takes time, get your book from the drawer and read. ha ha
@Cesar - "explore the beauty within" - pang WOW PHILIPPINES!
@K.D.: i found a way to read while working :) Since I'm always out of the building I find time in reading while traveling Since I'll be coming from Binondo to Alabang it takes long time and instead of just looking outside or sleeping(though i need it sometimes hehe).. :)Right now I'm into Anne Frank's diary and to kill a mocking bird, what do you think about these books?
Oh I loved them both, Han. Take care when you sleep while commuting though. It is better to read but still be wary of what is going on inside and even outside the transport vehicle.
han wrote: "Right now I'm into Anne Frank's diary and to kill a mocking bird."Hi Han! Good for you! I love both books.

Jam, miss you too! I miss your loud laughs, toothy smiles and jokes. And the tsismis! I miss going to Caloocan at night ha ha.
Nearing 30 but my mind is not over her teen years yet.I just read and do not discern genres.
Even the labels on jars are samplers of literary gems for me, I try to appreciate everything.
My second home is an ip address as I am almost always online.
I stumble, blog and read, read, read.
HI!

Hi Ladystapler! Mabuhay and welcome to the Filipino Group! ^_^
Hi everyone I'm Shiela...I just started collecting books last year and since I'm just 15 years old I can't buy that many books...I became addicted to books since our school have programs for reading like book fair and such...anyway I love YA books with romance since I found out that I'm a slow reader when romance is not involve...some of my favorites are the Mortal Instruments, Hunger Games and Vampire Academy...most of my books are in series because I find it depressing when books finish that fast...anyway I think I can't read that much this month because our periodical test will be next week and our term paper making will start already *sigh* (It's so hard to be a 4th year student...)So again Hi! and also I live in batangas and I find it hard to go to book events because it's always held in Manila and since I'm just 15 my parents won't allow me to go on my own so I just participate by buying books ^_^
Hi there. Newbie here. Be nice to me, okay?Hahaha, or just look at my profile to know more about me. :)
Will wrote: "Hi there. Newbie here. Be nice to me, okay?Hahaha, or just look at my profile to know more about me. :)"
Hello Will, don't worry we don't bite :)
Bluemoon wrote: "Welcome Sheila! It's pretty cool that you love collecting books at such a young age! My cousin is the same age as you and she pretty much love the same books as you. I suggest you try the House of ..."I've read the first book of that series and I find it a good read...anyway my sister is the one who bought that book and I'm just waiting for her to buy the next so that I can read it also...
Hi Will! Are you the Will of Me Likes Art? The one who dropped a comment on my book blog saying my blog is nice? I must say you really have a great taste. ;)
yeah, I'm Will of Me Likes Art? Well, thanks for admiring my taste, lol. I only add blogs which I find interesting. hahaha
Hi Shiela! You are as young as my daughter and she is also in Goodreads but could not read as often as she wanted. So, maybe you can motivate her. Hope you can join us in the next meet up so I can tell her that somebody as young as she will be in attendance. She joined us in the 1st meet up and she felt kinda OP. You will not feel left out here. Maybe of our members read YA and MG. I seldom do but I still read those. So, welcome. Not sure if doing it here is warm enough for you but I hope you can join one of the future meet ups so you can really feel our collective warmth. Oh yeah, Aaron's blog is the only blog I follow. Walang bola.
Hi Will! I have not read any of your favorite books but welcome. And we are all nice people here. Those who are nice have already left us because they could not stand nice people ha ha.
Bluemoon wrote: "SHEILA: also try the Reckoning by Kelley Armstrong. It's one of my favs and my cousin as well..."Oh...I've read that one but I only have the first 2 books...I've just read it in pdf format...and I find Derek really likable :)
K.D. wrote: "Hi Shiela! You are as young as my daughter and she is also in Goodreads but could not read as often as she wanted. So, maybe you can motivate her. We will go to Quezon on October 30 and will be back the day after. Where are you in Batangas? We can pass by just to meet you. It will be a quick hello. Surprise your parents that you have friends who will drop by in front of your house on either of those days. How does it sound to you?

Aha! Your parents should start being used to it because you will soon be a débutante and boys will be flocking to your doorstep to win your heart. But not old boys like us. Yeah, that could be scary ha ha. Thanks. Anyway, its out of the way. Maybe in the next outing of The Filipino Group, we may decide to go in that area and see the old houses in Taal as part of our Philippine culture appreciation (ano daw?) ha ha.
