Hi Gilliene (nice name). I hope you can say more about yourself. Most of us are Filipinos that's why this is called the Filipino Group. Are you a Filipino also?
K.D. wrote: For me, meeting people in-person adds warmth to their postings and messages here in GR Filipino Group. Not just the usual cold "impersonal" book reviews and messages. _________________
Ouch! One of these days I'll show up. Have classes kasi from Monday till Saturday after office. You still owe me a treat.

As long as your joining us will not hinder you from your current job hunting, you are free to join us ha ha. We learned yesterday that Faye Ann also lives in binabahang Malabon so I guess the two of you can rent a banca on your way back from a rainy day meet-up only to find out that the flood is abot hanggang bubong na! God forbid.
@Roseamongthorns: yes, no problem. Just join us in any of the event and I will treat you. Also, The Dream is still waiting for you. I think you are missing something not knowing what happened to the Bernsteins when they finally got to Chicago from Ireland. I hope we can have many minutes discussing about the book after you read it. It may not be as engaging as Angela's Ashes but it can hold its own as it also has some very memorable scenes. BTW, I had no intention of hurting the feelings of those who have not shown their good-looking faces to us yet. I just hope you find time as all of us are enjoying each others company. Laging kulang ang oras for discussions.

I'm looking forward sa "The Dream" I'm imagining kung anung kasunod ng love story ni Lily. Though, I understand that she died shortly after giving birth. : (
@ KD, Yeah, I am a Filipino? Uhh, was it required to introduce myself in the Filipino language?Haha. Thanks. Minsan nga mahirap na kakaiba yung name mo, because people can hardly pronounce or spell your name right =))

You make me laugh! haha! I wish Suzanne will be there. It's an official book launching hope you can attend there. it's a lot of fun and you can meet the Great Filipino Group members. active bloggers, discussions, and friendly readers
Lol, didn't introduce myself. xD Kate, seventeen, sophomore pol-sci major, bookworm and sometime writer. :D *waves*
hi kate! we have a picture in the filipino group page or you may want to PM your number to our alien moderator. but usually keep posted for details of where we will wait before actually meeting with the Flip flipping pagers of shelfari.
Nope nope. I'm not the mod. I'm just the childish not-so-sane evil member here. The alien mod is Jzhunagev.
peace kate! it's just that Aaron is a big fan of loveteams, heavily masked in a dystopian society. He's a great book pusher, if you like YA, he's the guy to ask (or may I interest you in reading his reviews).
As it happens, I've recently gotten into novels involving dystopian societies--Vonnegut and Philip Dick (what an unfortunate name). :P Yeah, I checked out Aaron's reviews and lemme just say, I am so making a trip to Fully Booked this Sunday. xD *waves goodbye to allowance*
Hi everyone! I'm Regine. I'm from Toronto, Canada, and I've never been back home to the Philippines :(. I love classics, but I also read a little bit of everything.

Thanks for the welcome K.D. Yes, I think we're friends from 1001 Books to Read Before You Die. Haha, and yeah, a lot people think I'm South American, or Native Indian.
